Im moving to a city in 4 years and cant fucking wait. Everytime i go on holidays to a city, I like to sit on the windowsill or near the window and look down at the street. I love seeing people walking and cars driving. I love just seeing life happening. When theres so many people down on the street, i like to think about how each and every person has their own story. I just love watching life happening like that. (EDIT, APRIL 2020: I wrote this comment in 2018, when I had 4 years to go. It’s now 2020, and this July it will be exactly 2 years until I get to move to the city :) My dreams haven’t changed. I’m still slowly learning the language of the country I’ll be moving to, and I’ve started learning specific things about the place (I’ve now learnt the entire metro route and I’m going to learn the train routes soon My dream seems very possible now. I’ve picked school subjects that allow me to get into some good university courses there. The rent in the city centre is actually cheaper than the rent that I’d have to pay if I moved closer to my home city. I want to move to this city and do as much as I can to give back to the place, because I have been dreaming of living there for 6 years now. I want to donate blood to blood banks, give money to local charities and just try and do my bit to say thank you to such a lovely place. The only barrier I’ve been facing is learning the language, as I’ve been teaching myself for years but still struggle without lessons. However, I’ll be fluent by the end of this summer! I have to be. Wishing everyone the best. Never give up on your dreams. Have big dreams too, like dream of moving country or even continent if you want. Try not to limit yourself by staying in your home country all your life. Learn a language and move to another country if you can. Dream big things, but also appreciate the little things in life) UPDATE 2: FEBRUARY 2021 Due to the difference in dates of college acceptance between my country and Denmark, I have to wait until September 2023 to begin university in Copenhagen, instead of September 2022, which I originally planned when posting this comment back in 2018. I will move to Copenhagen some time around maybe November 2022 (yeah I know it’ll be so so cold but that time works best with my plans). This means that it is now actually less than 2 years until I move. I promise to work very hard in my final 1 year and 5 months left of school. I will study Danish well and I will make my dreams come true. I will give back all I can to the kingdom of Denmark, and I will return to this comment maybe next year with another update. FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS!! Live a good life! Stay safe! Thank you to everyone for your replies over the years. You are all a constant reminder of how far I have come, and how long is left. You all motivate me very much. I hope my story will one day motivate you. UPDATE 3 (December 2021): Ok I’m not sure why I said I’d be moving there in November 2022. Realistically I’ll be moving to the city in maybe Spring or Summer of 2023. For now, I am studying for my very very important exams that will decide whether I can move to the city or not. If I don’t do well in my exams in June 2022, I will never be able to move to the city. I will study hard! Update 4 (End of December 2021): Lol I’ve changed my mind on what I want to study so now I’m going to choose a different city to move to. Strange how you can dream of something for so long and then just wake up one morning and decide you want to go somewhere else. Copenhagen is still very much in my heart, but I don’t want to go to university there. I’ll go there another time. I suppose I’m not ready for it yet. It hurts in a way, but in another way, I’m so happy that I’ve acknowledged these feelings I’ve hidden deep down for so long. I suppose I need to move to a much bigger city first hehehe I fucking love cities so much. Update 5 (November 2022): Nearly a year has passed and so much has changed, so I’ll try to fill you in. In June, I did my college entrance exams. It was a very tough time when I was preparing for those. However, I must’ve done pretty well because I got accepted into the number one university in the country. Now, I go to university in THE CITY!!!!! Every day of the week, I commute to the capital city!!!!!!!!!!!! My city dreams have almost come true. I’m not living in a city yet, but now i spend all day, morning to evening in the city. I only come home to eat and sleep and then back out to the city the following morning. Nowadays I’m learning German, and I’m really enjoying it, so maybe there’s a good German city for me… My life has changed so much. Im so happy. The city is like heaven on earth. University is like heaven on earth. Everything is going so well I’m genuinely the happiest I’ve ever been in life. I never thought a person could feel THIS happy. Cities are such wonderful things. I think my love of cities is what helped me stay motivated throughout my entrance exams. Even today, I am always motivated by the city. I can’t wait to one day live in an actual city. (For more recent/ small updates, you can see my comment replies here. I respond to every single comment notification with any life updates or whatever. Thank you to everyone who has read this comment or responded)
Oh, I moved out of the city, It sucks in the city honestly. If I were you I wouldn't want that. You see, so much shit happens in cities, it's living hell. I recommend you to stay nowhere close to a big city, it's just messed up. I've given in 2 cities I moved in and it was worse. Now I'm more in countryside and it's better.
i literally use this as background noise 24/7. i have it looped on a bluetooth speaker facing out the window. its gotten to the point where i think its real lol i love it.
Definitely the best city/traffic noise yet! I’m from a very rough area right next door o downtown. Other traffic raps get the sounds. They usually get the low level, rushing sound of cars driving, but they left out the horns and sirens the motorcyclists, and yes, I even miss the gunshots I heard at least a few times a week (before I found out what they were).
Marie Teresa I’m from the buffalo Niagara Falls Wheatfield area how about you I don’t want to say exactly where cause it’s the internet but it’s nice to see a bother New Yorker not from the big apple that loves the sounds of traffic and not crickets
Im from são paulo, but now i Live in a small City on the state of Minas Gerais, in Brazil. I hate the silence of this country side. All i need is The sound of everything happening around me like i used to hear in the big City ❤️
I really like (especially when I’m in a hotel on holiday or something) just watching the cars go past at night, the lights look pretty and the sound is really relaxing to me, I like to listen to the sound of the cars driving past and all the background noise because it’s for some reason relaxing...
I went to New York and loved the atmosphere, it was just different to me against other cities, So I like to pretend I'm sitting in New York still on my computer, relaxing.
I’m a city kid born and raised currently super homesick at a family members house in the middle of nowhere this makes me feel like home and helped me sleep :)
So, went to NYC the state that NEVER sleeps and I fell in love with it! I cried when I had to go back to my original state me and my brother decided we were going to live with each other a long time ago and we just love nyc and we know it's best expensive and loud but it's amazing.. And bill boards that like change and have pictures I actually never seen any in my home town . Ever since I left I haven't been able to sleep well so I started listening to the traffic in NYC and I realized that I miss NYC so much I can't sleep I think about moving there every day so I'm saving my money and WILL move to NYC no matter what anyone says I WILL follow my dreams. "I had a dream" Dr. Luther King Jr. ALWAYS FOLLOW YOUR HEART And DREAMS you become successful in life by doing it if it feels right then go for it also guess what state I love in. this reminds me of when i was younger and my grandparents was still together and happy. When i used to sleep over at their apartment and my grandma would make me hot chocolate and i would watch transformers and then go to sleep with the window perfectly open :(
I cant stand sleeping in a completely silent room. Hearing all the creeks and shutters of the house freaks me out. I appreciate that some people feel the same as me.😅
Normal people listen to calm winds in the leaves, or a gentle drizzle in nature... here I am blasting city traffic noise at myself, while I've simultaneously got REAL city traffic noise outside my window. Being a city person is weird.
I started the video and IMMEDIATELY felt that chilled air. The concrete doesn’t hold heat very well and I always find myself feeling a little cold in big cities, though not in a bad way.
When you’re from the country, but moved to the city, but are visiting family back home and can’t sleep because the silence is driving you insane, like the noise used to drive you insane when you were new to the city 🤯
I live in Chicago but not downtown. My grandparents live in a condo downtown but because of quarantine I can’t go visit them. This video reminds me of when I sleep at their condo and it’s really relaxing. Thank you.
Kota Kinabalu... I always enjoy the ambience for each time I'm enjoying my vacation around the Nature Resort City! I just can't wait to start living there soon... 😍
I love this noise. I hear it everytime I go and drive through a city and ughhhh! Plus we have my dads really low drowned out 80s/90s rock music and dmfjkfdfjlldsjkkf. It just sounds so nice and calming.
I live in the city (Philly), but my neighborhood is super quiet at night this helps me feel like I live downtown, lol. Without actually going downtown lol
When you live in the city, but you quarantine in the suburbs, but you can't sleep now because the suburbs are so quiet, so you put city whitenoise on just to fall asleep
It's this subtle balance between soothing white noise and the crappy horns here and then. I imagine that I sleep outside but that I'm invisible so that no one could see me. So I'd feel safe. With the city noise.
I had to move from my city to all the way out in a town,I listen to this a lot to feel better. I miss the big city with constant people and the smell of coffee and cigarettes and greasy food including drugs and every once in awhile, car smoke. I miss the constant bright lights reminding me the city never slept. I miss seeing all the different cars and counting how many neon colored ones I could see or undercover cops. I miss being at the top of the hotel and looking over the city. So many good memories from running in the streets late at night.
I’ve lived in villages all my life and the longest I’ve stayed in a city has only been a few hours when I’ve been to places like London, Peterborough, York and other UK cities so now I know what it’s like 😂💓
I used to live in a busy area and I had to move away to the countryside and now I can’t sleep without listening to this bc I’m so used to the city sounds
I stayed in NYC for 2 weeks and my family couldn’t sleep whilst there but I fell asleep so quickly. When I got back to my home in Kentucky I couldn’t fall asleep at all
I live in Manhattan however my apt window faces a courtyard, when I spend the night with my wife (or ex wife or whatever she want's to call herself when she's not mad) lol at her sister house. Jer room faces the street and it gets hot so I like to open the window, she doesn't have a TV so the sound of the street puts me to sleep. In my apt it's too quiet I sleep with the TV on but I don't like it too loud so I try to keep it where I can still here it and sleep at the same time. Sometimes it doesn't help especially if there's a movie on it catches my ear when I'm sleep and I have to turn its down some more but then its too quiet, so last night I tried something different and it worked. I grew up in Brooklyn was used to the noise of the street, after Job Corps I moved to south Jersey and then to central Jersey and eventually I moved back home there's nothing better than the city. Every niw and then I take a break and visit my family in Jersey but after a few day's I get home sick, so when I can't sleep this will definitely help.
scotty pidgeon amen, Im in suburbs right now and Ive found it absolutely impossible to sleep with this quiet. I mean, how do they stand it? I'm from NY and lived near a big transit hub so hearing these sounds were actually comforting. Now all I need is the Mr.Softee theme
I was trying to sleep when i got hit with a memory half asleep looking at the cars on a highway. Seeing the lights pass by, slowly drifting to sleep. I miss going to places and road trips.
I absolutely hate loud noises like these. I always want them to shut up and give me peace and quiet but for some reason they help me sleep so here I am
This helps my baby sleep she falls asleep easier when we are driving around nyc but soon as the car stops she wakes up so we use this sound to keep the momentum
It’s weird my family finds city noise annoying like when we visited Las Vegas and the billboards. I find it relaxing, listening to others live their lives not having to worry about yours...watching the billboards change colors with videos and images popping up. I rlly wanna move to New York when I’m older or maybe Chicago bc ive been there before
This stresses me the fuck out because I live in a old house 400 ft from I-10 in Houston and I hear cars racing every night I'll be almost asleep at 4 am then VROOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM some fucker thinks the highway is an F1 track but this is nice white noise for when I'm awake.
Im moving to a city in 4 years and cant fucking wait. Everytime i go on holidays to a city, I like to sit on the windowsill or near the window and look down at the street. Personally i would hate to live in big city. In country side you can do whatever you what want. Of course its always + for me to live NEAR the city.
i literally use this as background noise 24/7. i have it looped on a bluetooth speaker facing out the window. its gotten to the point where i think its real lol i love it.
I am glad you shared this
Shay Darby why u care
I used to do that with these bird sounds lol
Shay Darby literally not lol I kind of wish I was but with my old neighborhood being so quiet and me missing the city it helped a lot
hate baby noise and city noise ?~~th-cam.com/video/KNvyaQ-TMrg/w-d-xo.html
I don't know how or why I find this relaxing but it helps me sleep lmao
Lol same
I like falling asleep to noise like this just hate when it's to quiet

Now all u need is the smell of exhaust, cigarettes, and greasy food, nothin better than that
And the local drunk bum
I like the smell of exhaust
If it’s New York, don’t forget the smell of urine and barf from the ppl that partied all night.
Sometimes that is better than the noises of your life....
@Penny for my thot give me chance, and i wll break them, let me be here and i will fcking rot away
This is the best traffic sounds I've heard on TH-cam. Thank you! Slept fantastic last night.
brycepunk1 AGREED
I used to live in the city all my life but then we moved to the country and this was amazing!!
Now that it’s quarantine, even living in a city feels so quiet it just doesn’t feel right. Great video for that background noise that is missing :)
😂
Why the hell do I find this so freaking relaxing lmao
im asking myself the same question rn 😭
Im not from the city, I live in a small town in NY. I have no idea why, but this helps me fall asleep 😂

Wow. How can anyone find traffic noise relaxing?! Silence is bliss. Silence and stillness.
Not after torturing yourself with scary videos all night. This is heaven

I love the sound of NYC
Idk why ppl in HGTV are all like DONT LET US LIVE NEAR THE CITY
I finished the whole thing
Who could stay awake with this
scotty pidgeon amen, Im in suburbs right now and Ive found it absolutely impossible to sleep with this quiet.
I mean, how do they stand it? I'm from NY and lived near a big transit hub so hearing these sounds were actually comforting.
Now all I need is the Mr.Softee theme
This makes me jealous because the nearest city to me, Phoenix, Arizona is just so dead
Oh shush, I live in Europe bruv
lol
I was trying to sleep when i got hit with a memory half asleep looking at the cars on a highway. Seeing the lights pass by, slowly drifting to sleep. I miss going to places and road trips.
Crazy noisy bizarre city
I absolutely hate loud noises like these. I always want them to shut up and give me peace and quiet but for some reason they help me sleep so here I am
This helps my baby sleep she falls asleep easier when we are driving around nyc but soon as the car stops she wakes up so we use this sound to keep the momentum
This is perfect.
Im Just listening to this for exposure therapy, I absolutely hate hearing this every day outside my house
I am in South Florida. You don't even need a big city. You will hear horns blaring and cars screeching every 2 seconds! welcome!
I want one with people yelling and cussing each other out in traffic. It's not NYC without it. lol
It’s weird my family finds city noise annoying like when we visited Las Vegas and the billboards. I find it relaxing, listening to others live their lives not having to worry about yours...watching the billboards change colors with videos and images popping up. I rlly wanna move to New York when I’m older or maybe Chicago bc ive been there before
it’s been too long since this was 24/7 outside my window
This stresses me the fuck out because I live in a old house 400 ft from I-10 in Houston and I hear cars racing every night I'll be almost asleep at 4 am then VROOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM some fucker thinks the highway is an F1 track but this is nice white noise for when I'm awake.
A family member just knocked on my door and I didn't want to let them in. They called and I had this on in the background 😀 they think i'm outside
This reminds me of days on the road
