thanks for posting this. i had to move away from new york almost two years ago, and i’ve been pretty heartbroken about it, so it’s really nice to find this video and be able to hear a bit of home again. i know how this might sound, but i actually miss the sound of traffic, lmao!! to me, when i lived in the city, stepping outside and hearing traffic sounds was a reminder that the city was big and full of people and possibility and diversity and opportunities and life - it was my home, and i truly loved it. someday, i hope i can find my way back there. sorry for the rant - man, i miss new york. thanks again for posting this video.
no i literally do the same thing! its so hard to let go all of the memories i had from living in queens and this just helps me grasp on to them a little easier. i totally agree with you the sound of traffic is lowkey comforting to me lmao! me and my dad would always mess around with the tourists and the angry drivers by honking or just messing around with them😭 i miss new york so much.
I grew up in Manhattan all my life until I was well until I was 18 years old now I live upstate and it’s just so quiet up there the only thing I hear is crickets and they make me nervous
How... How could y'all sleep.. I mean I live in a small capital of ND. And we have our sirens every 40 min to an hour but this is a bit much for me. I need quiet.. do y'all get special windows to cancel the sound out or somthing?
it’s totally understandable to need quiet!! it definitely took some adjustment time for me to get used to the sound of traffic when i moved to new york (and it has also taken adjustment time to get used to the quiet again after i had to move away 😔). the traffic sounds different depending on the area of new york you live in, and there are lulls in the intensity of it - it’s not quite as neverending as in this video (but it’s pretty close, to be fair). and unless you live in a super busy are, the traffic sounds definitely die down a bit at night in the more residential and/or less central areas of the city, which helps a lot with sleep lol! but to be fair, the traffic sounds never completely disappear - at least from my experience. for me, when i was outside during the day, i could always hear traffic that sounded pretty similar to this video, and when i was in my apartment, i’d hear muffled sirens and horns a few times a day. but yeah, like the person above me said, you get used to it pretty quickly!! it becomes background noise that is so natural and consistent that it just blends into your mind and stops registering as a distraction.
Could not even record video, even when I saw the 'video' in my feed, I knew it was a still photo. It is also low resolution with no sense of reality, just a still moment years ago.

No matter the traffic or conditions I still miss it glad that I visit every summer though
Only been there once, no place like it
You're messed up 😂😅
This is absolutely perfect if you are looking for city-based white noise.
Ahhh..This is for anyone who moved out of NYC recently. The Soothing sounds of Backhome!
I play this when people call me at home and I want it to sound like I'm busy going somewhere 😆. Works every time.

haha no, you just get used to it over time, and if you move away you start to miss it, everythin sounds too quiet .

You learn to love it
That city noise drives me nuts. Can't stand it. Give me the peace and serenity of the country and nature in my North Dakota, or Montana.
