Ten years later and I still come back trying to understand the way this makes me feel. I’ve had some pretty serious memory issues, and I really understand now the idea that you can lose your recall of events, but your memory of how someone made you feel is always there. I like to think Sarah slowly begins to get her memories back, but I don’t think it happens here. I think she felt her emotional memory beneath the surface. I think she felt the puzzle pieces fit. And I think right before she told chuck to kiss her, she made a decision to trust her past self, that the path she’d gone down that led her to be with this man was the right path, and the moment she made that decision she broke a wall that made her feel her love again. And maybe that’s why I love this story so much. Because it represents the an act of love, of courage, and of faith, all in one moment. What a beautiful story.
Hey, I'm late to this comment. But I have had a tbi, so I've also lost some of my memories. It's really tough, but like you said you still feel something there sometimes. Like something inside you remembers, so that's how I view it for her. She will eventually love him again, I believe it's true because it happened to me where I've slowly gained my memory back. I've given up hope on all my memories coming back, however I do believe she will get hers back
Seriously the best show to ever be created. The action parts were good, the romance was awesome, the comedy was great and there was just so much emotion... There's just something about the show that grabbed me, something no other show could do to this date. I find myself revisiting this ending and getting crazy chills because of the pure emotion that the scene alone emits. It's kind of depressing that there will never be anything like it again, but the experience was awesome while it lasted.
People's main reason for hating this ending is that it unwrites all the character development given in the series. The romantic side of the show is set out to answer the question "Will a pretty spy girl fall in love with a computer nerd?" and it answers that question with a yes all the way up to their wedding. But their relationship was all circumstancial on Chuck having the intersect and him being a mess and nervous and his life in the gutter. After Sarah loses her memory, she meets Chuck again and it's completely different. He's confident. He's collected. He's still emotional but he's justified. This is a new situation. On the beach when Sarah says 'Kiss me' that is the declaration that she wants to spend her life with him and love him. Because she doesn't love Chuck because he happened to be the one with the intersect. She loves him because he is true to himself, and he has stuck by his identity all these years. He never betrayed himself, and as a result, Sarah would fall in love with him no matter what happened. The message is that you are good enough for love no matter who you are, and even if you had completely different skills, friends and history, someone out there will always love you.
Hope you're right! And you make sense! Problem being the ending doesn't sit well with a big chunk of viewers. I would of preferred Sarah telling Chuck, 'I'm pregnant' after listening to their story to end the series! You watch 5 seasons of a tumultuous relationship and you do come away with UNCERTAINTY. Anyway, Sarah is an absolute stunner. Ever single episode she just blew my mind! Really hope Yvonne gets a few decent movie roles in the future! Yvonne would be the perfect Bond girl:) I'm watching the series again LOL . . .
Was really repulsed watching series 3!! I lost a lot of respect for both Chuck & Sarah. Sarah played a real bitch from episodes 1 to 13 !!!!! Within a few episodes - 1/ Sarah had her legs wrapped around Cole. 2/ Sarah was into Shaw and probably bonked him in Washington. 3/ Why would Chuck who loves Sarah have a one night affair with Hannah? Then does the gentleman thing and dump her? 4/ Sarah admits to loving Chuck since her phone was fixed in S1E1. Where did that come from? Where was her loyalty towards Chuck from that point on? 5/ Chuck & Sarah only end up together only because Casey admits to the shooting when Sarah had been into Shaw for the past 3 episodes. None of series 3 makes any sense and there relationship seems tarnished to me! Poorly written. No wonder viewers turned off!!!!!!!!!
The issue I have is that I think you're wrong when you say her saying "kiss me" is declaring her love. I think that since she's lost her memory she has no idea who she is or what she wants and her saying "kiss me" is just that, her trying to figure out who she is. She doesnt know how she feels and she's hoping that the kiss will tell her. But for all we know after they kiss she could say "yeah, I'm still not feeling it,... well, I'm gonna go". People can read into it all they want but simple fact is it was poor writing. They spent 4 years building up this very complex and amazing relationship and in the 5th year they threw it all away in the end for something that was just "bleh".

I know it's not the ending most wanted, but it is a happy one. Sarah will either remember everything after the kiss and they will live happily together again, or she will most likely fall in love with him all over again and they will start from the beginning. If you think about it that way, it's a lot more satisfying.

I like endings that don’t really end, they make you think about the possibilities long after it’s done. But Game of Thrones better have a f*cking good ending, that’s all I gotta say about that. This is one of the most beautiful scenes I ever seen. I literally cried watching this scene, and didn't get over this show for a whole week, thinking if they had showed she remembered everything and they lived happily together. If they put in another season with Chuck fighting for bringing back sarah memories and doing lots of missions. I hope that happens.:( :(
+JRFP8 Zachary Levi in an interview on the season finale (it is one of the first results if you look it up on google or youtube, if i can remember well) said that when we see Chuck "telling their story" to Sarah, it was actually him and Yvonne "... just talking about life", that he had this idea and told the directors to cut the audio. It is beautiful, to me. They are really close friends, you know? Ant that's another reason to feel close to the serie. Because the cast itself was very close.
The emotions this song makes you feel while watching clips of chuck and Sarah makes you remember all the ups and downs and makes you want to go back and rewatch everything again
cannot believe it is actually over.. Chuck will always have a special place in my heart, no matter what I do or where I go, I'll carry my Chuck memories. I'll always remember the laughter and the tears this show brought into my life.
I thought the ending was great and extremely romantic, Essentially she falls in love with chuck again. There is also a deleted scene earlier where she doesnt want to hear their story when he asks her to. They really cut their nose off by removing that part. There are also signs that her memories are slowly returning but at that point she has no real feelings for chuck until the end. Also the only other time she told him to kiss her was after he shot shaw. Its always risky though relying on things like that on a tv show because the audience has to recall that. Also the slightly open ending such as it was is always risky with tv audiences since they have such a connection to the characters. Those type of endings work better in movies. There really isnt a middle ground with liking it or not liking it
I can appreciate a show that doesn't think so little of their audience that they need to insert a flash cut of the scene that needs remembering. It says alot that they didn't do that!

I've never seen this show. But I wanted to watch because it was recommended because I love the band. Just based on the context, this songs seems perfect. I can see why fans like the show and how some are upset by the ending. But in my unbiased opinion, I find it beautiful...cheers
Watch it, you won't regret it. The ending is ok for me (they are together, starting again but without the spy life), normally my advice it's to watch till episode 8 of season 5. It's also an amazing end.
Love this show so much watched it with my dad every night it came on then he passed. Watched it for the first time again and hit me hard watching it got to the end and was hard because I went through something with my wife like this but this this show so much.
I was among the masses who hated this ending... to start with. I then a few years later rewatched the seasons to the end and now think it was the best ending ever. The whole relationship relied on at least one of them always remaining hopeful despite the odds against them, and it relates to real life relationships that succeed to the end. Despite Sarah’s inability to feel anything, chuck has done and will continue to do all he can- he’ll never give up! And that’s the point.
Too bad we didn't see if Sarah remembered anything from the kiss. But even if it doesn't work, at least Chuck and Sarah will start their relationship over again and eitherway they'll live happily ever after
I'm really gunna miss all these amazing actors and the great show that is Chuck. I hope to see all of these amazing actors on my t.v or movie screen very soon

I don't know about everyone else but this was my favorite show of all time. It had everything that a good tv show needed. The 5 seasons was great and I don't know if more seasons could have made this better that what it was. I think what we had was perfect. I am sad that it is over but I could go on for hours talking about the lessons and moments of Chuck that I fell in love with. If we as a fan base carried it for 5 season than a single movie should be easy.
chuck has no doubt been the greatest series i've watched so far. the emotions that the show's been able triggered bring us so close to its characters, mainly sarah and chuck.. not forgetting casey, morgan, ellie, devon, big mike and jeffster. job well done on the production of the show. despite the sad ending, i think overall it is a good finale. we are just sad that it's over.. :'( we will miss you chuck!!
Shows like this should never end... I am still watching season 5, a friend told me the ending was kinda sad and i couldn't resist watching this video on youtube. We want more Chuck! :D
To the chuck cast and writer's this show is one of the greatest shows ever made it's not about the fame of how many people have watched it because the ones who have and loved it and love it know what a true story is and this story has it all sci-fi action comedy drama love thriller mystery and I have been with you since season one and behind the scenes have gotten people to go crazy when they wanted to cancel this show. I think it's possible to make a season 6 or a movie spilt in two episodes sorta. I think if Dexter was able to come back then so can you the only difference is your ending was perfect! Love always your number one fan!
All, Sarah falls in love here on the beach. Just listen to her voice and look into her eyes. She interrupts Chuck and asks him to kiss her. She wants her memories back here, and falls in love...again. Also, they kiss three times. Such a great love story.
I didn't begin watching this series until after the series ended. But, thanks to some buddies who owned the first four series on DVD and me watching season five online, I've watched every episode and feel so bummed that I won't get to see anymore! What a great show! BTW, excellent ending scene!
I was on Catalina Island but I made sure to catch the finale.. I was crying almost as much as I did when I watched "Hachi: A Dog's Tale" .... This show was the most amazing show I've ever seen.
I THOUGHT I COULD DO IT!! I really believed that I would be able to watch this without crying. I've been avoiding it for a few months but then after their comic con panel it's like I've lost my favorite show all over again and I just had to watch this scene again. I can't even explain why. But now I'm a crying mess.
This finale was perfect... As a huge fan of TV Series, who has watched A LOT of series and their finales, this one took the cake... I saw the finale a couple of hours ago, and i still can´t stop thinking about it, and i most likely won´t think about anything else all day. This scene really put the cherry on top of a perfect cake. Rivers and roads, rivers and roads...
Still heartbroken and can't watch this scene without balling my eyes out. I guess that's a good thing? Chuck was such a great, happen, and free-spirited show. It will be missed. Goodbye Chuck.
The pilot was a great episode, but that original beach scene is what won me over. I knew then that the show was going to be something special, and I'm so glad that they ended the series at the same spot. For me, this was a perfect ending to an awesome journey. Thanks to everyone involved for making Chuck one of the best experiences ever.

I can't stop crying.. This is so beautiful scene. I know that many thinks in mind that ''why build a character over 5 seasons only to wipe out everything''.. Most important for me is that Chuck knows who he is and who he loves and that he's loved in return. I liked the ending because whether or not the kiss made her remember or it's the beginning of a new story for them, we know they'll always love each other.. I'm going to miss Chuck so much.. It's been a great ride for sure :)
First off, let me just say I love the show. Found it on Netflix a few years back and fell in love with it (season one through four are awesome) as I was watching the show I came across this clip on TH-cam and put two and two together that she lost her memory, so I haven’t even seen the last three episodes and don’t plan to. There are so many problems with this ending/story arc in the last three episodes for me and it’s not just that the main characters were the heart of the story. While that’s on the list it’s probably closer to the bottom than most people think. 1. They ruined the character development of one of the most kick ass female characters on television in my opinion 2. the creators have said multiple times that the show was supposed to be fun and lighthearted and make people laugh, which it did, so why then did they pull dark and depressing in the 11th hour as the show was wrapping up. 3. The creators have said they are thankful to the fans for literally keeping them on the air for three years And they have a stake in the show. Really, if you’re so thankful and you knew the show was about the two main characters, then why in the 11th hour did you not consider us when deciding the storyline for the final season. 4. What really did the amnesia storyline in the last three episodes serve, other than to add drama and nonsense to a great series. If the writers and craters wanted to do a will they, won’t they scenario, then why have the two characters get together in the series in the first place. They could’ve just used the same type of character/storyline that they did for the first two seasons when they weren’t together. Now I will talk about the main characters and their relationship. 5. From the beginning of the show Chuck never wanted to be a spy, have the intersect in his head and just wanted to lead a normal life. Throughout the series is best friend from college dies, his father dies, and he’s put in life-and-death situations an almost daily basis. He decides to become a spy for multiple reasons, however his main reason is to be with Sarah. So are you telling me that after all that crap he might lose her to? No it is unacceptable in my opinion. If you look at the series as a whole he is his father son and does everything for the people and the woman he loves. So come on and cut this guy a break already. 6. If you’re going to screw up the main relationship of the show, what was the point of the show. Considering how main relationship grow the character growth in both characters and motivations for the characters. Without that relationship there would have been no show. So by making this ending you’re really making the entire series pointless to view in the first place. Which is also unacceptable, because the series is great. 7. And why did did they leave the final so open-ended. Are you telling me that they could just have another 30 seconds where Sarah says something to Chuck to indicate that she loves him or that her memories are back. I think that’s the least they can do concerning the poled the last three episodes out of left field compared to the rest of the entire show I know it’s been six years but I’m hoping somebody will make movie soon so that we can have the ending which I think we deserve rather than the one we got. Yeah it’s bittersweet and nice and you can think what you want about the back together or not back together after the magical kiss. But Chuck was never a serious show and we deserve to have a true happy ending.
This was my favourite TV programme way back when. In many respects it still kinda is. But this ending was a mind fuck. They could've given us some kind of subtle clue to make it clear what happened. But no, they gave us this. I'll admit, nice scene. But they could have given her her memory back and then had a scene similar to this. It would have still had a similar effect, but we would've gotten to know that she at least could have that 5 years of her life back.
I see your point, I think you might be right and I totally respect your opinion, although I disagree with you. Yes, this wasn’t the ending we waited for, maybe not the one we deserved, but the best ending they could have gave us given the circumstances. However, there’s one clue that, if you interpret it this way, might give you a satisfying ending, so here it goes: In this arc, whilst Ellie is studying the way the defective Intersect erases its host’s memory, she discovers that it doesn’t affect the emotional memory (which is a real thing, long term memory it’s stored in the hippocampus and emotional memories/responses run through in the lymbic system; in real life these systems work independently and if one gets damaged the other one may not be affected), therefore, by triggering the host’s emotions, you could recover all his/her lost memories. Considering that Sarah starts to remember certain things of her relationship with Chuck while being under pressure and/or duringn emotional distress during the final episode, their final kiss could have been the major trigger that brought her memories back. Another possibility it’s that the Intersect didn’t erased her memories, but only “covered” them under a different identity; after all, Volkoff didn’t have any memories from Harvey but all of them came back after the Intersect was out of his head. I like to think that the first scenario is what happened and that she gradually recovered her memory. And even if that wasn’t the case I’m satisfied and moved by this ending and it will always be the best series ever for me. 🤩

I thought the ending was great and extremely romantic, Essentially she falls in love with chuck again. There is also a deleted scene earlier where she doesnt want to hear their story when he asks her to. They really cut their nose off by removing that part.
There are also signs that her memories are slowly returning but at that point she has no real feelings for chuck until the end. Also the only other time she told him to kiss her was after he shot shaw. Its always risky though relying on things like that on a tv show because the audience has to recall that.
Also the slightly open ending such as it was is always risky with tv audiences since they have such a connection to the characters. Those type of endings work better in movies. There really isnt a middle ground with liking it or not liking it
I can appreciate a show that doesn't think so little of their audience that they need to insert a flash cut of the scene that needs remembering. It says alot that they didn't do that!
It gets me every time also! I loved it but wish there were more to it. I hope Chuck the movie is a success! I don't mind investing in that. Fan since 07 ! Fan forever ...

I've never seen this show. But I wanted to watch because it was recommended because I love the band. Just based on the context, this songs seems perfect. I can see why fans like the show and how some are upset by the ending. But in my unbiased opinion, I find it beautiful...cheers

Watch it, you won't regret it. The ending is ok for me (they are together, starting again but without the spy life), normally my advice it's to watch till episode 8 of season 5. It's also an amazing end.

Love this show so much watched it with my dad every night it came on then he passed. Watched it for the first time again and hit me hard watching it got to the end and was hard because I went through something with my wife like this but this this show so much.

Everytime I see this again I start crying like a little baby, so beautiful! I really miss Chuck, what an amazing 5 years we've had!
I was among the masses who hated this ending... to start with. I then a few years later rewatched the seasons to the end and now think it was the best ending ever. The whole relationship relied on at least one of them always remaining hopeful despite the odds against them, and it relates to real life relationships that succeed to the end. Despite Sarah’s inability to feel anything, chuck has done and will continue to do all he can- he’ll never give up! And that’s the point.
Too bad we didn't see if Sarah remembered anything from the kiss. But even if it doesn't work, at least Chuck and Sarah will start their relationship over again and eitherway they'll live happily ever after

I don't know about everyone else but this was my favorite show of all time. It had everything that a good tv show needed. The 5 seasons was great and I don't know if more seasons could have made this better that what it was. I think what we had was perfect. I am sad that it is over but I could go on for hours talking about the lessons and moments of Chuck that I fell in love with. If we as a fan base carried it for 5 season than a single movie should be easy.

chuck has no doubt been the greatest series i've watched so far. the emotions that the show's been able triggered bring us so close to its characters, mainly sarah and chuck.. not forgetting casey, morgan, ellie, devon, big mike and jeffster. job well done on the production of the show. despite the sad ending, i think overall it is a good finale. we are just sad that it's over.. :'( we will miss you chuck!!
Shows like this should never end... I am still watching season 5, a friend told me the ending was kinda sad and i couldn't resist watching this video on youtube. We want more Chuck! :D

To the chuck cast and writer's this show is one of the greatest shows ever made it's not about the fame of how many people have watched it because the ones who have and loved it and love it know what a true story is and this story has it all sci-fi action comedy drama love thriller mystery and I have been with you since season one and behind the scenes have gotten people to go crazy when they wanted to cancel this show. I think it's possible to make a season 6 or a movie spilt in two episodes sorta. I think if Dexter was able to come back then so can you the only difference is your ending was perfect! Love always your number one fan!

All, Sarah falls in love here on the beach. Just listen to her voice and look into her eyes. She interrupts Chuck and asks him to kiss her. She wants her memories back here, and falls in love...again. Also, they kiss three times. Such a great love story.

I didn't begin watching this series until after the series ended. But, thanks to some buddies who owned the first four series on DVD and me watching season five online, I've watched every episode and feel so bummed that I won't get to see anymore! What a great show!

I was on Catalina Island but I made sure to catch the finale.. I was crying almost as much as I did when I watched "Hachi: A Dog's Tale" .... This show was the most amazing show I've ever seen.

I've been avoiding it for a few months but then after their comic con panel it's like I've lost my favorite show all over again and I just had to watch this scene again. I can't even explain why. This finale was perfect... As a huge fan of TV Series, who has watched A LOT of series and their finales, this one took the cake... I saw the finale a couple of hours ago, and i still can´t stop thinking about it, and i most likely won´t think about anything else all day. This scene really put the cherry on top of a perfect cake. Rivers and roads, rivers and roads...
Still heartbroken and can't watch this scene without balling my eyes out. I guess that's a good thing? Chuck was such a great, happen, and free-spirited show. It will be missed. Goodbye Chuck.
The pilot was a great episode, but that original beach scene is what won me over. I knew then that the show was going to be something special, and I'm so glad that they ended the series at the same spot. For me, this was a perfect ending to an awesome journey.

I know that many thinks in mind that ''why build a character over 5 seasons only to wipe out everything''.. Most important for me is that Chuck knows who he is and who he loves and that he's loved in return. I liked the ending because whether or not the kiss made her remember or it's the beginning of a new story for them, we know they'll always love each other.. I'm going to miss Chuck so much.. It's been a great ride for sure :)
First off, let me just say I love the show. Found it on Netflix a few years back and fell in love with it (season one through four are awesome) as I was watching the show I came across this clip on TH-cam and put two and two together that she lost her memory, so I haven’t even seen the last three episodes and don’t plan to. There are so many problems with this ending/story arc in the last three episodes for me and it’s not just that the main characters were the heart of the story. While that’s on the list it’s probably closer to the bottom than most people think.
1. They ruined the character development of one of the most kick ass female characters on television in my opinion
2. the creators have said multiple times that the show was supposed to be fun and lighthearted and make people laugh, which it did, so why then did they pull dark and depressing in the 11th hour as the show was wrapping up.
3. The creators have said they are thankful to the fans for literally keeping them on the air for three years And they have a stake in the show. Really, if you’re so thankful and you knew the show was about the two main characters, then why in the 11th hour did you not consider us when deciding the storyline for the final season.
4. What really did the amnesia storyline in the last three episodes serve, other than to add drama and nonsense to a great series. If the writers and craters wanted to do a will they, won’t they scenario, then why have the two characters get together in the series in the first place. They could’ve just used the same type of character/storyline that they did for the first two seasons when they weren’t together.
Now I will talk about the main characters and their relationship.
5. From the beginning of the show Chuck never wanted to be a spy, have the intersect in his head and just wanted to lead a normal life. Throughout the series is best friend from college dies, his father dies, and he’s put in life-and-death situations an almost daily basis. He decides to become a spy for multiple reasons, however his main reason is to be with Sarah. So are you telling me that after all that crap he might lose her to? No it is unacceptable in my opinion. If you look at the series as a whole he is his father son and does everything for the people and the woman he loves. So come on and cut this guy a break already.
6. If you’re going to screw up the main relationship of the show, what was the point of the show. Considering how main relationship grow the character growth in both characters and motivations for the characters. Without that relationship there would have been no show. So by making this ending you’re really making the entire series pointless to view in the first place. Which is also unacceptable, because the series is great.
7. And why did did they leave the final so open-ended. Are you telling me that they could just have another 30 seconds where Sarah says something to Chuck to indicate that she loves him or that her memories are back. I think that’s the least they can do concerning the poled the last three episodes out of left field compared to the rest of the entire show
I know it’s been six years but I’m hoping somebody will make movie soon so that we can have the ending which I think we deserve rather than the one we got. Yeah it’s bittersweet and nice and you can think what you want about the back together or not back together after the magical kiss. But Chuck was never a serious show and we deserve to have a true happy ending.
This was my favourite TV programme way back when. In many respects it still kinda is. But this ending was a mind fuck. They could've given us some kind of subtle clue to make it clear what happened. But no, they gave us this. I'll admit, nice scene. But they could have given her her memory back and then had a scene similar to this. It would have still had a similar effect, but we would've gotten to know that she at least could have that 5 years of her life back.
I see your point, I think you might be right and I totally respect your opinion, although I disagree with you. Yes, this wasn’t the ending we waited for, maybe not the one we deserved, but the best ending they could have gave us given the circumstances. However, there’s one clue that, if you interpret it this way, might give you a satisfying ending, so here it goes: In this arc, whilst Ellie is studying the way the defective Intersect erases its host’s memory, she discovers that it doesn’t affect the emotional memory (which is a real thing, long term memory it’s stored in the hippocampus and emotional memories/responses run through in the lymbic system; in real life these systems work independently and if one gets damaged the other one may not be affected), therefore, by triggering the host’s emotions, you could recover all his/her lost memories. Considering that Sarah starts to remember certain things of her relationship with Chuck while being under pressure and/or duringn emotional distress during the final episode, their final kiss could have been the major trigger that brought her memories back. Another possibility it’s that the Intersect didn’t erased her memories, but only “covered” them under a different identity; after all, Volkoff didn’t have any memories from Harvey but all of them came back after the Intersect was out of his head. I like to think that the first scenario is what happened and that she gradually recovered her memory. And even if that wasn’t the case I’m satisfied and moved by this ending and it will always be the best series ever for me. 🤩
