Adjustable Fire Grate and Extended Grill Plate: www.fireboxsto...
Here I show a new feature for the Adjustable Fire Grate which allows you to raise and lower it within the Firebox.
Also I show and demonstrate the new Extended Grill Plate by grilling up a big juicy hamburger for my wife.
Awesome! Thanks for chiming in and thanks for the support.
Just got the adjustable fire grate & extended grill plate. Had purchased a Master Combo Kit with a boil plate and codura case. With the addition of 2 new accesories the pouch is full. Any additional accessories, the cordura bag will need gusseted sides & longer flap. A local butcher shop sells fresh butchered, locally raised beef & pork. Extended grill plate will hold a fresh ribeye or 2 pork chops perfectly. Thanks for a great product & continuing efforts to make it even more versatile.
Great, I'm glad to hear that we're getting Firebox orders to Australia quickly.
Thanks for the feedback.
I'm currently working on an ultra light micro stove for backpackers. Fun stuff!
Thanks for the comments!
Hi Steve. Thanks for another great video! I find that you can add to your burger mix almost anything. I love to add a bit of Lea & Perrins! The key is keep it simple, and when you go to mix and form your meat, handle the mix as little as possible. I prefer to chill the meat mix for about 2 hours before forming it into burgers. A package of dry onion soup mix works great---just be sure to add less salt if you use the soup mix. Oh ya, I prefer to use regular ground beef! It just tastes better!
Thanks Detlev! And thanks for your hard work in Germany.
Got mine delivered today ,incredible postal speed to Adelaide Australia ,it beat another order from Sydney ,anyway cant wait to try it out, soon as I finish this night shift work I am doing thank you for a great product and fast postage.
Thank you so much for the feedback!
Nice accessories come the first I'm getting one of each. I might have to mention these on my blog. Love where your taking the Firebox well done.
That's a great idea, watch for it, I'll do it soon.
All the best, Steve
The Ti version has more challenges than most people would realize. But we are getting closer and closer every day.
Wow, that's quite a recipe! I would like to taste that burger!
Thanks a ton!
If you rub the bun carefully onto the plate, if will clean it a bit, but mor importantly, make the bun taste better. Nice looking burger, thanks, I never thought of putting oatmeal in them.
Thanks for the comments! Sounds yummy!
Your burger looks great, the oatmeal is a nice touch. In my home state of Kansas, the best patty meat is farm raised buffalo. I mix an egg and diced onion to hold everything together. Yum.
+J Kay Mmmm buffalo sounds delicious! Thanks for watching!
That's a good Idea. But to go that thick would require machine work on top of the punching. It would be quite expensive, I'm not sure we would sell many. We could do one the same thickness as the fire sticks (16 gauge). we'll keep that in mind as we move forward.
Wow, that really sounds great, like a prime rib burger.
Thanks for the tip!
Yeah, I know. I don't know where I got that? Kinda weird when I think about it.
I think it's suppose to help the burger stay together.
Thanks for the comment.
Steve, I love my Firebox. It is just the coolest thing ever. I honestly don't see any way it can be improved upon if you make a generation 3, unless it was maybe an XL version if anyone wanted to do a really big cooking job. There is nothing the G2 can't already cook. I absolutely love it. Going camping this Thursday and can't wait to use it again.
Thank you for the kind words, I truly appreciate it. I am glad you are out using your stove and will be again soon making more memories. Have fun, Cheers!!
Thanks!!
Your stoves are Awesome! great addition! to the "firebox"!
Steve, my Firebox is a hit at work! Numerious employees cook lunch together on the Firebox, which is also team building.
That is great to hear! I am glad you are all enjoying the stove. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the comment!
Yeah probably. Thanks for commenting!
Ah ha, Sounds yummy. Thanks for the advise!
All the best, Steve
My favorite burger: Filet Mignon lol. My adjustable grate is on the way. Wish I would have run across that with my last order Steve. Good excuse to order a few more products while I was at it! Fantastic products brother, couldn't be happier. I wish you every success!
Thanks so much for the kind word of support. I too love a nice Filet Mignon :)
Thanks Karen!
You should do a cleaning video -- I would love to know how easy or hard it is to clean off the grill plate after you do some serious cooking on it (like a burger/steak). Or is it like a cast iron pan where you just wipe it off and leave on the 'Flavor" ;)
Here's a few burger ingredients for you:
-Mix in one egg
-bread crumbs
-get some ISLAND SEASONING HAWAIIAN SMOKE meat seasoning from Amazon, this seasoning is awesome for all different meats and eggs. It is made in Hawaii from the Macadamia Nut Farm. They also have a Chili Pepper kind I haven't tried out yet.
-diced up green onions
-diced up either one green bell pepper or an assortment of colored bell peppers and mix them in a bowl, then into the hamburger meat.
-get a cheese block of your favorite cheese like coby jack and dice up the cheese into small cubes and mix the cheese cubes into the hamburger patty.
-Lastly add a few slices of one or more different cheeses & bacon on the top of the burger near the last few minutes of grilling.
-After putting the burger patty on the buns with all other condiments you like, maybe add some of your favorite BBQ sauce. ENJOY!
+Christopher Wanamaker Thanks! That sounds better than oats!
The extended plate is much more comfortable for grilling. And no problem with warpage as it turns flat again when cooling down. Still I would be really happy with an optional same size extended grill plate made of thicker stainless steel, about 3mm.
As always, great job!
Thank you Paul!!
I'm going to do a video of that today, we'll see how it goes I guess.
Thanks for the comment!
i personally think you have the best bush firebox/stove that keeps on giving. i wonder if we will ever see a full sized titanium firebox :). im patiently waiting
The longer it goes the less chance there is. It's simply not feasible. Its size makes it cost prohibitive. Think about how many large titanium pot's are on the market.
And a couple short years later, the titanium Firebox was a reality
finely diced white onions and Crimini mushroom pieces, topped with a nice Swiss or Emmentaler cheese!
Thanks for watching Alex!
Omg....😂👍 Is this necessity is mother of inventions or it was designed from the get go ... Lol A Great Idea, man ... I'll buy it ! 😂👏👏👏
Thanks 👍😎
You're right, I need to grill some veggies. Thanks Jack
This video has some mileage on it, in TEXAS hamburger is 100% pure BEEF. Mixing in oatmeal causes me to remember my poorer days and hamburger helper. Keep up the good work. Recently received my folding fire box, with the extended grill plate.
I hope you enjoy your stove and have fun burning on it. Thank you for watching and commenting Richard.
Have you tried french onion soup mix? You just mix the packet in with the hamburger. It's delicious.
We will have to give that a try, thanks for the suggestion!
@@fireboxstove let me know what you think. I am always trying out new things and I like the feedback. Have a great day!
This is from "America's Test Kitchen". For the best burger start with a steak. Put it in the freezer until it is firm but not completely frozen (about 30 - 35 minutes). Remove the meat from the freezer and cube into about 1 inch pieces. Place the cold, cubed meat into a food processor with a table spoon of cold butter. Run the food processor until the meat is the consistency to ground beef. When the meat comes out of the processor you will see the chunks of butter distributed throughout the meat. Remove from the processor and form the patty. Absolutely the best tasting meat you have ever had in a burger.
Awesome! Thank you Ken I appreciate your contribution to a better Burger 👍🙏😎
I'm a straight up beef kinda guy. My burgers never fall apart.
You gotta love it! Thanks for watching!
have you cooked with wood or charcoal using the adjustable grate? i wonder if it disturbes the coals to much, so as the charcoal becomes ash, it would rise up the firebox onto the underside of what you were cooking. i usually use about 15-20 briquets, so that i have an extended cook time depending on whats for chow. would'nt want to add briquets when cooking as it imparts an off flavor to the food. great that theres a extended grill plate. off to firebox site to order with additional firesticks.
Mmmmm, sounds delicious!
Awesome! Thanks!
Thanks for commenting!
It was my headache to decide whether Firebox or Bush-box to choose and then I saw this video that grill plate can be replace different height!!!! Can Bush-box do that? I saw so many of them that I'm having a headache and I don't want to but I'll check soon. If it can not do what Firebox does as in this video, I suppose winner will be Firebox!
The Adjustable Fire Grate is the perfect companion to the Grill Plate and Extended Grill Plate but it also makes using other fuels like Wood Pellets or Charcoal much more effective.
Thanks!
I have a Weber BBQ in the back garden but whenever we want a grilled burger I always break out the Firebox. My wife says it does a better job than the Weber.
+TarHeelBrit I love hearing that! Thanks!
I'm conflicted. I love both, owned webber for years but I am still waiting for my firebox to come in lol
liking the extended grill plate but i wait and order it when i order the titanium firebox
no rush im very happy with my stainless steel firebox but my son in law wants mine when i upgrade :-)
Grate an onion very finely, place a tablespoon of black pepper, pinch of salt and a tablespoon of heavy cream.... than form your patty..... great burger.
Thank you for the suggestion!!
is der any fitebox ,d size dat will fit a piglet., a rotating motor to turn d piglet., ty.
WOW that looked amazing!
Yes, a happy wife is a happy life, ahhahahh
+Nicholas Poetker Thanks Nicholas!
Bread crumbs onion ,American mustard and chilli mixed in the burger mix to taste
Thanks for the suggestion!!
Do You do anything to season the grill plates when they are new ?
No, maybe just some oil they will develop a seasoning quite quickly 👍
@@fireboxstove You have QUALITY products ! I've never seen
ANY other stove that has the ability
of "fire box" family of stoves ! They
can do anything do do with cooking
and or boiling or ANYTHING that
involves various fuels and a match
or spark ! All that , without warping !
In My humble opinion , that's no small feat ! In short , You sell products I don't mind spending My hard earned $$$ for !!!
Love it!
Thank you!
Great advice :D
Basically that's a meat loaf.. & your burger is "Done"if you need a binder to keep burgers from falling apart. Try this true & proven technique: going on you principles of used Oatmeal in a hamburger. Use Italian seasoned breadcrumbs make a slurry adding garlic salt onion powder smoked Paprika.. two coops of Nino " Milk substitute".... Cracked peppers..liquid smoked add slurry to uncooked hamburger meat. FYI it truely depends on the amount of repetitive force you work your mixture. Your mixture should look like The consistency of Oatmeal. Your final consistency of your hamburger patties should be tight.. & hold their shape as patties. Heat up your grill till Hot before applying your hamburgers . Spray or apply thin coating of oil onto your burgers ..keep from sticking. FYI ..I have use those cooking mats that are silicone can't even burn BBQ sauce to stick to these mats...eggs.or whatever don't stick. Adjust you coals so that a 3 count is all you wish to hold your hand over. When you push your finger on meat when thought finished and the same resistance of touching your ring finger to your thumb filling between your index finger & thumb 👍 will give you Medium Well. ..great video and product.
Thanks for the tip 👍😎

Thanks very much..
thanks I love my fire box stove. . I cant wait to take it into the bush . two pounds but you don't need any fuel . just great thanks again sure .
Thank you Patrick! I'm glad you like it!
Onion definitely make the taste better
+Johnson Lam I agree. I love onions.
Corn flakes. Medium grain polenta.
Sounds delicious!
Meat, worchestershire sauce, lipton beefy onion soup mix. Comes out pretty good, still waiting on that 10mm zebra pot cooking video😴
Thanks for the recipe Chris!
How I dona burger? The Swanson method..
Search Swanson vs turkey burger
But what about the grilled veggies? No hungry trekker should eat steak without grilled veggies.Job well done
Jack
A picky woman? Who woulda thunk it?
As I'm watching this I'm waiting for the charcoal in my new Firebox to catch. I've been through three days of pouring rain and there's no dry wood to be found anywhere. Oh well, adapt and improvise.
Awesome, I hope your mini BBQ was delicious!
Is it my imagination but is ur firebox not quite a perfect square? and if so why isn't it?
It's not at all square. Two of the sides must be shorter than the other two for its unique folding system. Four panels make a much more sturdy stove vs 6 panels with accordion style folding which is loose.
@@fireboxstove so two smaller and equal width sides then the two long sides one is longer than the other? The height sides are all the same
@@saltygreek3870 the hype sides are offset by a full inch and a half to allow for massive exhaust capacity. Like a racecar a stoves exhaust needs to be tuned to its intake to allow for free-flowing fastfire. Having all besides equal on top chokes the exhaust capacity down. My stove does however have one side with a flap so the exhaust is adjustable.
Sorry, bad voice recognition
mix cheese into the burger!
Oh good idea, thanks!
grill that onion.
+John Dowd Sounds good to me!
Burger King ( just saying )
it's a pain in the but I do not like it at all. & It's just too little.
Thanks!
Burger King ( just saying )
This is WAY better than Burger King LOL.
@@fireboxstove Well ... I guess You
Got Your oats for the day !?
You know , I really like My scout stove . It's easy to use inside .
I recently rediscovered sterno , it
works the best for Me . ( new can
boils water pdq. , after can is half
full it still boils water , well , more
like a summer ... but that's when it works best to heat canned goods
I put the caned stuff into a pan cause the can is too hot to safely
handle . .. and the cross stand is too
specially if you can't blow out the flame ) !
