Dolly Parton is one of the greatest human beings to have ever walked the face of the Earth. What a gem of a woman you are!
This is a good life, well lived. I know it is not often you hear Aristotle and Country and Western in the same sentence, but Dolly Parton reminds me of the mature human being described in Aristotle's Ethics: the person who thinks and acts , acts and reflects, in order to achieve what is best for themselves and others as well, for others and themselves as well: seeking a common good. She has a good life, and is creating a good life for those around her. I loved books as a small child and am so glad that millions of children have benefited from this lovely scheme.
We can't all be her, but we can be the best of ourselves...
Go Dolly, you were so gracious to me in the 70s at the beginning of my career. You are a fine example and deserving of great love.
