  • The album, the interview, it's all worth a listen!
Arkaingelle, the rootsman from Guyana, who is now based in California, released his 4th studio album, “Nah Watah Down,” on September 18, 2020. This modern sounding album done in collaboration with Jah David Goldfine of Zion High Productions (Zion I Kings), stands firm in the roots reggae and Rastafarian traditions.
"Nah Watah Down" is instantly a leading contender for roots reggae album of the year 2020. The album is a beautiful work of art, from masterful instrumentation and production, to the unapologetic words of praise and worship to the Creator, and a call to righteous livity.
Arkaingelle joins us at Irie Roots Reggae Reviews for an exclusive, extended interview on the words, sound, and power of his latest album.

I haven't heard enough quality reggae from 2020 to have a top 10, to be honest. A lot of reggae from 2020 is borderline crossover. I will have to think about that.

this is a good album, I felt the production was great and ark was good but something was missing I felt. Run come and why should he are some of my fav track by ark and I felt the energy I got from those were missing.. this is more slower album that sounds more personal which is good. Its good he didn't water down but I would have liked more energy on some tracks. I still give this a strong 8.5 though

This is a fair assessment. I think the album resonated with me because I like these slower, heavy roots riddims. It's hard to take away the subjectivity from these reviews.
