    It’s cheaper than first class for a lot of routes, you can network with others, and you don’t waste time waiting in the airport, but I think I’d rather do a first class flight. I’m too introverted to be in such close proximity with strangers and feel compelled to make conversation with them throughout the flight.

      The way I look at it is that it’s also a chance at networking with other people, would you bust out of your shell if you knew there was a chance to make a serious amount of money 😅?

      I suspect that the costs of each are about the same. Though the whole package with the Residence is better. Proper bed private bathroom and a much better lounge service.
      Actually sharing a flight like this is probably a benefit as you have a faster point to point time with much shorter check in and faster aircraft. For flight geeks it is something to do at least once.

    It's crazy to see how everyone here is blasting this video considering most of them need to book their flights 7 months in advance just to avoid a return flight in economy. I would happily travel private even with strangers. No need to turn up 3 hours early, no need to wait in line, no need to walk so much.

      yeeeamayne lol talking about experience when you not even at least try once.I am a JetSmarter member as well the good things for flying private jet are first you don't need to queue at customs,second no security check which means no one is going to ask you to take off your shoes or belt for checking,third no crying or annoying children during the flight,much more comfortable time during the flight and you only pay as much as a first class flight.so tell me why should I use commercial flight when I use private jet service?

    There’s a catering service that you can pay for with JetSmarter, I believe it’s was around 150$ per person, we had 3 or 4 course meal , but on a crowded flights usually the catering is complementary. Never used JetSmarter from London to Dubai, however using it from NYC-LA, it’s pretty great! You also have a transfer option here in NYC, so JetSmarter provides a helicopter from Manhattan to White Plains.

    The G-IV seems awfully cramped. How would the cost compare to the same trip on Emirates first class suites? Having to bring your own food aboard sounds right out of American Airlines domestic coach. It's true that you would be sharing the first class cabin on Emirates with other people, but at least you can close your little door so you don't have to look at the, nor they at you.

      Scott Mathews You clearly never heard of JetSmarter. It basically gives you an unlimited access to all their charter jets on certain routes for $10K/yr. Assume you want to fly from Paris to London. You access your account on their website and see the available flights for that week (usually 1-3 flights per week per route). You book a seat at no extra charge. You can travel all year long on a lot of routes at a cost of $10K a year only.
      A first class roundtrip seat between london and dubai would cost you $5k-$8k for a single trip only. Do the math.

    Sam should disclose if he received compensation for this review. Monetary or a free flight. The guy at the end of the video with Sam is the former company president Gennady Barsky who was arrested for felony grand theft by embezzlement of $12 million.
    A friend of mine was a member and I flew 1 time with him. In the last 3 years the yearly fee has doubled to around 15K or more. The rules and benefits of the program keep changing. The video shows only 5-6 passengers with 13 seats. He was lucky. Most of their shuttle flights in the US are full. Coast to coast G IV with 12-13 strangers like sardines in a can. You have to book way in advance with no guarantee of a return flight. My one flight was NY to LA and we had to return commercial or be stuck there or pay a lot for a charter.

    • @pepethepatriot7524
      @pepethepatriot7524 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Then who is? Why would anyone pay 10-15k to be crammed into a jet like that and be forced to bring your own food, etc. when you can get a better experience in any first class commercial cabin? Target customer = stupid people with too much money who are desperate for bragging rights?

    I think a lot of people are missing the point with this jet share idea. It may be less private than a little private room in first class commercial flight but the true beauty of this travel is the time savings. There’s no waiting in a security line or having to worry about checking bags, waiting at the baggage claim, etc. For people with this kind of money to spend on private travel, time is money. If they can save two hours of their day by sharing a private jet, that’s all that really matters. Most FBOs even allow you to drive your personal vehicle out to the plane. You hop on the plane as the engines are firing up and someone parks your car for you. There’s no time wasted!

My opinion, it's not the same as Air France or any exquisit comercial company like Qatar or Emirates. In my humble opinon, I like the feeling of entering a real aiport, a real large terminal. Nevertheless you video was fantastic.

    • @S.Sarajlic
      @S.Sarajlic 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You generally can't bring e.g. liquids above a certain amount. I don't bring food at airplanes, usually, because I want to take advantage of every weight that I carry with me. I went from Italy to Colombia with a luggage of less than 10 kg (without counting a small/tiny bag).

    Pilot here, just for the record you cannot do this in the US. Per FAA regulations, all passengers and crew must be seated and seat belted during taxi, takeoff and landings. Having the gentleman standing behind the pilots filming during take off and an approach can get you a lovely interview with a FAA Investigator.

    • @sallysmith3885
      @sallysmith3885 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not true. The first time I flew private I stood behind the pilots and videoed the landing. No problems ensued.

    I think is good idea share a private jet that you have the flexibility of time and you don’t have to wait 2 to 3 hours for a comercial or international flight.
