Nothing wrong with RP oil. I'm just glad and surprised that GM doesn't use 0W20 in the 2.7 like they do the 5.3/6.2. 0W20 is really too thin IMHO. Both my 3.5 Ecoboost and 5.0 Coyote F150's take 5W30 which seems to be the best all around weight for fuel economy and engine durability. Personally my favorite is Pennzoil Ultra Platinum which you can catch on sale on Amazon from time to time. I just bought six 5 qt. jugs of it for $20 a jug on sale a couple weeks ago.
Can you do a video on how to check the transmission fluid with out a dip stick?an I would like to also see you add the dipstick thanks.
It would be interesting to know if you have any carbon buildup on the intake valves due to the lack of port injection. I just picked up a Sierra with the high output 2.7 Turbo. I’m hoping that this engine has a long trouble free life.
I used the purple oil in my 2.7 great oil but I am thinking going amsoil with my 2.7 give that a try
Hey Jeremy , good video bud , hey first and foremost I would like to see you install that transmission oil dip stick , I didn’t think that was possible since I have the same truck as u do except mine is 4x4 but it’s the same 8 speed transmission and when I bought it I was told there was no dipstick for the transmission which I thought was not cool on gm’s part , to me checking fluid levels is very important specially expensive components like engines and transmissions, any way yea bro I would like to see if this is possible to install, I would definitely do that to mine too , thanks brother!!

I sure have. All of this, minus the transmission fluid is now completed. I'm working on the videos for them.
Hey there, I wish I had your email so I could ask my question for your opinions. Coming home from last camping trip I got a message my gross weight could be over my limit on the truck screen? Going had every thing same loaded in camper minus black tank that had 3/4 (we had company stay in it during daughter’s wedding) I hav 6900 dry weight and golf cart not sure it’s weight but am told most golf carts are 800lb so I guess what are you thought you pull 9,000? Soon be headed north to Alabama
@@walterkurutz307 hi, are you hauling a golf cart in the truck bed and hauling a the travel trailer?
If so... You are likely over your rear axle rating by a significant amount. A golf cart, rigged our with four seats can weigh 1,000 lbs easy. A 6,900 lb travel trailer will be 8,000 ish loaded for camping. Your tongue weight should be around 1,000-1,200 lbs. My camper is close to 1250 lbs on the tongue weight and I use a 1400 lb weight distribution hitch.
Most people have 300-500 lbs of people and stuff in the cab of the truck.
Basically the payload math doesn't work for your truck with a golf cart.
Golf Cart- 1,000 lbs
Tongue Weight- 1,000 lbs
People and gear in cab- 500 lbs
That's 2,500 lbs or about 600 lbs over the gross payload of the truck.
Here is where it gets scary... The rear axle rating is there to tell you how much weight the rear axle can carry... With a golf cart that weight is directly over the rear axle.
Basically, your computer is telling you that you either need to do something else with the golf cart (put it on a trailer and have the darling wife tow it behind her SUV) OR you need to downsize the cart to a Cricket style, or you need to step up to a 3/4 or 1 ton truck.
I don't have any problem going to the limits of a trucks rating. They can do it and do it well, but to grossly exceed them is not something I recommend.
I would take your rig to a Cat scale and get the facts of your weight as your set up is now. Those numbers will tell you all you need to know to move forward.

@@jeremsgarage I actually have toy hauler (part reason is I needed for golf cart) odd thing was did not get that warning on way to camping only got warning coming home.
When I traded my 2500 for 2.7 , my camper was not a toy hauler , same wait and we would load golf cart in bed of truck, but now I have the toy hauler. I was told golf cart was 800 lb but won’t argue 1,000lb 🤔 hmm weird it went camping no warning, home with warning and as I said we had half to 3/4 full black tank on the way camping, back home empty?
One more thought, question, would putting golf cart over wheels of camper be a better idea or more better at rear of hauler? I really don’t want to consider purchasing a 2500 this truck we have is almost paid off. I told my wife I live a life of regret trading off 2500 so we could get the 2.7. My wife could not drive 2500 cause no seat adjustment and we wanted to down size vehicle #. She absolutely loves her new truck as I do.
@@walterkurutz307 okay! Whew. That makes me feel better. Here is what I would do. Before you spend a ton of money, invest in a Tongue Weight scale. I use a Sherline scale personally but you can make one with an analog bathroom scale and some wood. I used the bathroom scale version for years and years just fine.
I may make another one for the channels sake.
What I would do is experiment. Load the trailer as you do now and weigh it. If you are over 1300 lbs or so, adjust your trailer load to bring the tongue weight down.

@@jeremsgarage thanks man, what a pleasure meeting you on you tube, no pressure but you was the one that sold me on the 2.7, watch your videos and others and thought to myself, “you can do this” I bought the micro boost a lot higher than my other camper which was bigger and it was first camp I pulled with my 2.7 storage to home pulled like a champ. Notice you are a brother in Christ PTL. Any way check on all you got here, I’m running out of time August 1st headed north first to Crystal river for two weeks in camper then mid august to Lincoln Alabama till November 1 then headed to South Carolina with friends and we are not sure how long we will stay.
