Its just sooo important to keep on top of your credit, i just recently found out that a late truck pmt from 2015 was holding me back. I thought i was good i was at 727 but couldnt go higher and didnt know why.. After i had that removed i immediately jumped 25 pts to 752 and im feeling a lot better now!
@@gabs2sash during the course of my truck loan from 2010-2015 i made two "interest payments" where the bank just lets you to defer those payments and they are tacked on at the end of the loan. But GM Financial was showing them as late even though i cleaned them up in 2015. So i got on Experian, explained things and filed a dispute, and apparently GM didnt dispute it i got an E-mail from Experian saying my dispute was successful. I have good credit cards, Amex, Discover etc but Citi and BOA turned me down and i couldnt understand why. I called Transunion and they clued me in on thats why it mightve been. But on the surface of my credit reports i never saw that one little thing

Yea Navy federal gave me a really high limit. I applied and was denied at first so I got a service from this name below, and I was approved for a capital one. The limit was so small lol but I took it and worked on it. Because if that it helped my credit and I believe that’s what made me finally get approved for navy fed with such a high limit. they're still working on increasing the capital one since it was so low. All in all I’m satisfied.
I saw on TH-cam that capital one won’t raise the limit that much on a low limit card so you will have to apply for another one. That’s what I did and got a way higher limit.
It was great to know that there was someone, a real person, on the other end who was there to help and really fix my bad credit situation across all the bureaus. I’m grateful to Mr White.

I had a 60 day late payment right after my dad died and I moved to another state where my credit union was not located. After 3 years of being on time since that 60 day late, I wrote them asking them to forgive my late payments due to the death of my dad. I even sent a death certificate showing the date and they denied it. So cold. It will be there for the next 4 years.

I just watched this video for a recent 30 day late reported on my credit report. I called the creditor and they removed it right away!! Which even after watching this video I thought was going to be impossible! I thought I was going to be on the phone for at least an hour! But nope! The whole call was 5 minutes long and the late payment has been removed from all 3 agencies. Thank you! I’m in mid 600’s looking to jump literally JUMP into at least high 700’s in 30 days! I mailed in Goodwill letter to a creditor, asking them to remove the 1 late payment that occurred 4 years ago. I've been a loyal customer for over 7 years and they said because it's accurate information they cannot remove it. Company is Capital One. Kinda sad.

Have 100% on time payments for all credit accounts, opened a new card, thought it was set up on autopay, and turns out it was not and got hit with a 30 days late. Paid it off ASAP, but still so upset by the 88 point drop. Gonna wait for 6 months then attempt a letter since the account is so new.
I wish this was true my situation but what I found out was that if the item reported is accurate the the creditors usually won't remove it because of the Fair credit reporting act , stating that it would be against the law to do so, most companies if the item is correct will not remove it
Clarification Question: If the Late Payment was already reported to the Credit Bureau's and you send in a "Good Will" letter to the the creditors and they remove it will it then AUTOMATICALLY be removed from your credit report as well? Or since it was already reported it's too late for it to now be removed?
I wrote a long post about my experience with my goodwill attempt with Nissan Finance above, and the short story is, it didn't work, so it doesn't matter in my case. But IF a creditor adjusts it in their internal files, and it dumps its regular info to the agencies, then it would disappear there also, like a "refresh" button would do, and the FICO system would then raise your score accordingly. I don't think it's ever "too late" because mistakes can happen and must be corrected, even if your situation isn't one. But when a change is made, it generally happens across the board.

I was told that. Even if you request the company remove it both equifax and the company who reported to them that you can’t . The Retention policy 6 years from the date of that it has been paid off from last activity. There is no one that can override the policy unless the company remend the policy. It is all done and the score is generated internally and there is no department for that because it is all done internally. The company signs and agreement with equifax that it can not be removed once reported.

We’re renting a guest house at the back of the main house. We applied for rental assistance last time it was available in LA. They prioritized apartment address than residential. They never replied at all with our application. You can dispute with the credit bureaus. If the late was due to COVID, you can call customer service for an adjustment. I’ve seen many have success if that was the cause .
Around 3:25 your recommending to call the creditor to ask about late payment removal- but this can only be done through the credit bureau? The creditor could only ensure account is in good standing, not remove a late already hit on a credit report right ?
remove? as in bye bye.. it would be more wise for the purpose of upping the score to turn it into a "payed as agreed" instead of removing credit history.. this makes to most sense, does it not?
I’ve sent out 3 rounds of good will letters to capital one about two 30 day late payments on paid off and closed credit card accounts. Capital one keeps telling “due to fair credit reporting act we can’t change it” do I keep sending good will letters?
I think the issue is your accounts are ready closed. I am in the same situation with them but my accounts are open and current for the last 6 months. They can change it but don’t want to. You can also write each credit bureau and submit a statement to be included in your file so that other lenders can see this.

I had a late payment in December after me and my wife got covid and we where both in the hospital. I called to see if I could have it removed due to my circumstances and the lender told me no and that the don't take goodwill letters. Sarcastically he told me you should have just sent your payment in a couple of weeks before you got sick. I was like you have to be kidding me!!!!!!!! I didn't ask to get sick plus I was just hoping to survive i wasn't worried about no damn payment at the time and she said sorry there's nothing we can do.

Late or not , according to the fcra whoever is lending the credit does not have right to report a late payment to a ‘credit beareau’ unless you say they can.🤷🏽♀️

Have 100% on time payments for all credit accounts, opened a new card, thought it was set up on autopay, and turns out it was not and got hit with a 30 days late. Paid it off ASAP, but still so upset by the 88 point drop. Gonna wait for 6 months then attempt a letter since the account is so new.
I wish this was true my situation but what I found out was that if the item reported is accurate the the creditors usually won't remove it because of the Fair credit reporting act , stating that it would be against the law to do so, most companies if the item is correct will not remove it

Clarification Question:
If the Late Payment was already reported to the Credit Bureau's and you send in a "Good Will" letter to the the creditors and they remove it will it then AUTOMATICALLY be removed from your credit report as well? Or since it was already reported it's too late for it to now be removed?
I wrote a long post about my experience with my goodwill attempt with Nissan Finance above, and the short story is, it didn't work, so it doesn't matter in my case. But IF a creditor adjusts it in their internal files, and it dumps its regular info to the agencies, then it would disappear there also, like a "refresh" button would do, and the FICO system would then raise your score accordingly. I don't think it's ever "too late" because mistakes can happen and must be corrected, even if your situation isn't one. But when a change is made, it generally happens across the board.

@@Mo-sk7xo No I just think it depends on the company and who you talk to. I ended up getting mine fixed by calling on the phone vs writing a letter.
I was told that. Even if you request the company remove it both equifax and the company who reported to them that you can’t . The Retention policy 6 years from the date of that it has been paid off from last activity. There is no one that can override the policy unless the company remend the policy. It is all done and the score is generated internally and there is no department for that because it is all done internally. The company signs and agreement with equifax that it can not be removed once reported.

You can dispute with the credit bureaus. If the late was due to COVID, you can call customer service for an adjustment. I’ve seen many have success if that was the cause .

I’ve sent out 3 rounds of good will letters to capital one about two 30 day late payments on paid off and closed credit card accounts. Capital one keeps telling “due to fair credit reporting act we can’t change it” do I keep sending good will letters?
I think the issue is your accounts are ready closed. I am in the same situation with them but my accounts are open and current for the last 6 months. They can change it but don’t want to. You can also write each credit bureau and submit a statement to be included in your file so that other lenders can see this.

I had a late payment in December after me and my wife got covid and we where both in the hospital. I called to see if I could have it removed due to my circumstances and the lender told me no and that the don't take goodwill letters. Sarcastically he told me you should have just sent your payment in a couple of weeks before you got sick. I was like you have to be kidding me!!!!!!!! I didn't ask to get sick plus I was just hoping to survive i wasn't worried about no damn payment at the time and she said sorry there's nothing we can do.
