Adam is great! I once pm'd him about a losi clutch question at 11 at night, when he had already left the team. He still gladly offered his guidance and support.
I just got my 1st nitro as well after 7-8 years of running electric. I've had zero problems/gremlins but I find getting used to the throttle input differences the most difficult aspect so far.
Personally I like breaking in my Nitro motors, I wish we still had Nitro tracks around here, 1/8 Nitro Truggy and Buggy are by far my favorite classes.
Awesome to see a nitro car on the channel! If you end up finding yourself chasing a tune with that motor, get the carb that comes with the 2101 and the spec II, ( I think it's called the BJ1) it is much easier to deal with and you'll be much happier with your nitro experience. as far as fuel, the VP fuel team manager, Tommy has told me that Ty has done a lot of testing with all of the VP fuels and feels that the 30% is the way to go for eas of tuning and for the best feel on the track. If it has too much power, you can always richen up the top end an hour. Another important thing for nitro are the brakes, make sure the brakes don't bind up at all and play around with them, bias front to rear, and start low with your epa and slowly go up 1 tick at a time till you have enough brakes and your not taking away momentum around the turns.
The electric guy is really good at drive and I've watched him Drake is the OG and the electric guy seems a little star struck and that's cool Adam is a legit nice guy
This video was awesome,i have only 1 tip for you(if nobody told you already) buy alot of clutch bearings! Those things run out pretty fast and they can cause some serious damage!
Aboit timw you went nitro!! Lol. You have a great setup to start off with for sure. Yes drake does wonders with the break in. He has do e three of mine and im very pleased
Haha love the Savage SS reference, brings me back to the glory days of tying down monster trucks and trying to make it around a dirt track with a 2 speed transmission lol.
Ryan your car prep and presentation looks really good. One can see that a lot attention to detail goes into each model. Not sure if you have a video on what you do following a race event in terms of prep?
Hey Ryan! Nice to see you in nitro now, I was wondering when Lee setser and Brad Nicosia were gonna talk you into it. Your car is looking dialed dude, great setup you have. If you ever need help pitting please let me know, will be glad to help.
Using a piece of Bicycle inner tube is a good idea for this. It will not degrade with the fuel and oil contamination it will inevitably experience and it saves your car (or your ass) if that linkage breaks.
Great video. Thanks for getting into nitro. I would stick with one percentage of fuel, it will change your tune a bottle and may get out of range for u
Excellent video 👍 Super cool to see Adam in your video. Never been a nicer guy. I don't care what JQ says lol. Good luck with the nitro! I'm still a noob so I will stick with my electrics for now hehe
By the way man that engine sounds good dude. Rapps out very nice and has plenty of smoke. I see so many people (especially in the plane world) not have their engine adjusted right.
Hi Ryan, glad to see you crossing over to Nitro, I've just gone in the opposite direction and bought myself a Arrma Typhon 6S V4 as a basher to ease myself into it. Really love your channel, I've learned a lot from you... keep up the great work! :)
Great Engine I have the same. 💪🏻. It is not a top speed engine but has good low end power and powerful enough for medium tracks + good fuel mileage. As Switch I can really recommend the KoProPo Electrical Switch running it since years never had an issue. The new version is also displaying the battery voltage in digital numbers.
I've been waiting forever for companies like Ohlins or RockShocks to make RC shocks as they would be banging for sure ... they would get my money but it just doesn't happen . My first nitro was an HPI Savage aswell.
17:5617:56 Hey Ryan I don't know how you do it but all your cars just look so neat and professional. I just spent about 30 minutes comparing yours to a whole bunch of other ones. The only conclusion I come to is your wiring is top of the line, back in the day I used to coil on my wires. So I guess I'm wondering do you polish for hours before you put your cars on stage, or is there something you use to make them pop? ¿;
I can't wait and want to get back in to nitro again I'm thinking about Nitro on road though and I love your videos man pretty inspirational stuff your making me want to get back in to Rc again I just lost ky touch with it a while back ago love your videos man.
Congrats on coming to the dark side...lol, I tried racing eword and it does nothing for me personally but I love my electric guys cause they will pit for me anytime I need it, I currently race nitro buggy AE rc8b3.1 & AE rc8t3.1 truggy. Love the Team associated cars!!!!
Just drive it an continue to ask questions an yes vp is great as long as you can get it from local hobby shop an once you use 30%after 25% you may need to adjust your needles a smidge
Welcome to the crack world. There is nothing better than raising an 1/8 scale buggy and hearing that engine that crisp throttle response and the power to lay down and that buggy takes off and then takes flight 426 feet out of the air and then the brake clamp down and then you turn that corner you hit the gas again that thing takes off like a rocket with a roar. You're about to indulge in one of the best racing features of RC cars
So that's what the big circle plastic does on my Hyper 7 (face slap) I've been asking myself for so long what the hell is that thing, I've looked online and found nothing... until I saw this video and it clicked in, transponder mount. Thanks so much dude, take care :)
Nice effect with the package ... that was a nice joke.
Very interesting interview with Adam Drake, very nice In the www.rctech.com forum he wrote that he used a EBIS engine. This is very interesting because the EBIS enema service of the Nitro motors has arrived in Europe in 2017, today it offers almost every shop - in Germany. Really good interview!
I just broke my engine in 2 days ago using drakes method .. didn't send it in but still I take Drake's advice anyday of the week since hes been in the game so long
Adam is great! I once pm'd him about a losi clutch question at 11 at night, when he had already left the team. He still gladly offered his guidance and support.
He's a great guy for sure!
Yes a nitro car! Finally! I’m looking forward to seeing more vids.
Nitro
So attractive when clean...not so much when cleaning and rebuilding!
Your shiny car almost tempted me back in....ha!
Enjoy
I just got my 1st nitro as well after 7-8 years of running electric. I've had zero problems/gremlins but I find getting used to the throttle input differences the most difficult aspect so far.

Exactly 💯
I knew the nitro bug was going to bite you! Have fun!
@Alberto Samson stfu
Nice dude!! Can’t wait to see more vids of you fun with this car.
1/8 scale nitro buggy is still the pinnacle of our sport!
Hi Ryan. The nitro 1/8 buggy class has always been one of my favorite classes. They are easier to drive than most of the other classes
Yes!! Hope to see you at the East Orange RC Track, Bithlo FL soon.
don't let Drake hear ya calling it a 'motor'!
engine motor same thing right?
@lane johnson well I have been mislead
@lane johnson what's the difference? Is it that a motor can be anything that produces movement... Or something?
Engine boating not motor boating
lane johnson look it up a motor is a machine powered by electricity or internal combustion. i would never call a electric motor an engine though
Dude... You need to adjust those muffler bearings!
Welcome to nitro.
😂
How are the BK servos holding up?

The electric guy is really good at drive and I've watched him Drake is the OG and the electric guy seems a little star struck and that's cool Adam is a legit nice guy
Awesome bro
Great to see you running nitro. In my personal experience O.S. and Novarossi are my personal choice for engines.
Hi Ryan, Nice see you jumping into the 1/8 scale :) btw what song was that could not find it ?
Very Welcome in the Nitro Class. Hope you Enjoy it, its a bit diferent from Elektric.
2 of my favorite Rc influencers in 1 video?? Yes please.. and ryans a nitro guy now?? Heck yea c'mon over to thd dark side buddy! #Braaap
Haha I enjoy both sides still!
congrats Ryan! I've learned a lot with your videos! keep up!
This video was awesome,i have only 1 tip for you(if nobody told you already) buy alot of clutch bearings! Those things run out pretty fast and they can cause some serious damage!
Ryan, with your attention to detail, you should do really well with nitro. Have fun!
Thanks for another great video.
Let’s goooooooo! This is the exact video I need right now lol learning nitro buggy as well
Who paints your bodies? And if you paint them could you maybe do a video on how you go about doing the flames? Thabks!
Nicely done Ryan. Thanks for the insight.
Can you do a setup video on the one of the RC8B3.1’s? I got the E-Buggy for my son and now I am about to get one or a nitro.
Phooking right! Again great vid man
Good luck with your nitro experiance! I will be getting into nitro soon! Its the biggest class at my track, and longer mains = more track time/fun! 👍
Nitro 🙌🏼💪🏼🤙🏻 now i will watch your Channel 😎
Cool video mate! Track looks awesome! Keep the nitro vids coming! 👍
Please share your RC83.1 setup sheet once you get it dailed! that surfaces looks close to what i run on.
Savage for life! That got me hooked as well. About to throw a Nova 28-8 into mine. Great video man, looking forward to more nitro content!
Aboit timw you went nitro!! Lol. You have a great setup to start off with for sure. Yes drake does wonders with the break in. He has do e three of mine and im very pleased

Your car is looking dialed dude, great setup you have. If you ever need help pitting please let me know, will be glad to help.
I recommend putting a rubber band around the carb for cheap insurance (runaways)
Using a piece of Bicycle inner tube is a good idea for this. It will not degrade with the fuel and oil contamination it will inevitably experience and it saves your car (or your ass) if that linkage breaks.
About damn time now I will watch that footage!
That's lake park, my home track!
yes yes yes my fav!!!!
yeahh more 8 scale stuff ;)
greetings from germany! I really like your videos :)
Great video. Thanks for getting into nitro. I would stick with one percentage of fuel, it will change your tune a bottle and may get out of range for u
Hey Ryan, When are you gona do another nitro or 1/8 scale video?Buy the way awesome work, your videos are always top tier, keep it up!!!
Excellent video 👍 Super cool to see Adam in your video. Never been a nicer guy. I don't care what JQ says lol. Good luck with the nitro! I'm still a noob so I will stick with my electrics for now hehe
Freakin sweet!
Welcome to nitro, we agree that Adam's break in service is an incredible deal. Hope to see you at the track someday.
How is your Nitro quest going now? still playing with them?
How is the BK servo holding up on the steering?
Welcome nitro! You will never go back. Awesome video man!
I subscribed because you got a nitro! Keep them coming!
By the way man that engine sounds good dude. Rapps out very nice and has plenty of smoke. I see so many people (especially in the plane world) not have their engine adjusted right.
Sweeet!!! Congrats! Can you also do a video on the vintage and touring cars on your shelf behind you? Maybe a little on your aquascape as well? :D
That would be fun to cover, might have to do that 👍
Ryan Harris Awesome!!! Maybe it could just be a video on your workshop/backdrop?? Like a cribs mtv style video haha 😍
Awesome video! Is this your first start on 1/8th scale as well?
Kind of... Ran a small bit of nitro 10 years ago with a HPI Savage SS before the truggy class was made.
@@RyanHarrisRC I'm sure you will be on that podium in no time! Two mostly new first at one time, no better way than to dive in! Keep up the good work!
Hi Ryan, glad to see you crossing over to Nitro, I've just gone in the opposite direction and bought myself a Arrma Typhon 6S V4 as a basher to ease myself into it. Really love your channel, I've learned a lot from you... keep up the great work! :)
Congrats on the nitro! Ur one of my favorite utubers, I love nitro! Welcome nitro brother!
Also is that titanium screws I see already? Lol
I use Os engines in my planes and they are nice. Probably not the fastest but they start every time and last forever.

Does ryan harris mainly only race 1:10 scale?
I've been waiting forever for companies like Ohlins or RockShocks to make RC shocks as they would be banging for sure ... they would get my money but it just doesn't happen . My first nitro was an HPI Savage aswell.
Good for you, I love nitro. OS SPEED for life

Back in the day when I was racing my RC10 GT we used to just plug the exhaust and stall them. I don’t actually think there even was a switch.
Drew Gorman he is only talking about for the electronics lol
I can't wait and want to get back in to nitro again I'm thinking about Nitro on road though and I love your videos man pretty inspirational stuff your making me want to get back in to Rc again I just lost ky touch with it a while back ago love your videos man.
Ryan- What brand and model
Sunglasses are those and where can I buy them online?!? Thanks!
Hey Ryan, out of interest why did you opt for the B2102 rather than the B2103?
They are pretty much the same thing if we are honest.
Hey bro im a huge fan! i was wondering what shocks do you have on your Nitro buggy? can you send me a link please?
Do more Nitro stuff videos! Nice work!
Oof, maybe in the future but no nitro for me now! Awesome vid though, nice to see Adam Drake!
Just drive it an continue to ask questions an yes vp is great as long as you can get it from local hobby shop an once you use 30%after 25% you may need to adjust your needles a smidge
It's not easy with clutches, linkage, tuning car and tuning engine and then find a pit guy to help. It is fun but alot more to consider.
Seemed like on all jumps the car dived towards the left a bit, exhaust side. Is that something you want to address? Can it be addressed?
Dabbling in the black arts😉😉😉😉
Adam Drake is one of my hero’s and I don’t even race. (Yet)
He has a Cindy Crawford mole. He is a true OG of nitro engines.
Dude your video skillz are popping !!! Keep cranking on them !! 💣💣💣
Thanks homie!
What made you decide for the low cooling head vs the regular one ?
Couple of my local buddies run this one, so I followed suite 🤙
Ryan Harris seems the go to one. Same here at home too. Rip’er

How about a vid of that gorgeous truck behind you. Trucks for life
Soon I will feature that one!
@@RyanHarrisRC awsome can't wait. P.s. thanks for all you do for the hobby
What tires did you use in that video? Thank you
Jconcepts Kosmos in Green compound!
Sanwa also offers that switch.

It's unlikely you'll get it in America but optifuels race blend fuel is very good I highly recommend it
