Would like to see LBP x Dreams kinda game. LBP - to play with friends (and make games LBP style) Dreams - the freedom and intricate yet well made create tool + something else. Something new like Mm usually good at.
I always thought it'd be cool if they made a little big planet that wasn't 2d layers but an actual open plain to mess around with friends in create mode or user generated levels.
They could have made money from Dreams if they'd added online multiplayer. I had friends who all would have bought it if we could have played it together.
@@KOOLAIDxK1DIt's truly depressing. The game was once massive in its time, but then it just... disappeared. It's like nobody cares about its existence anymore, everyone just forgot about it, despite just how absurdly amazing it was.
Dapbth 10 YEARS! man and m- MARK?! Eh I'd like to see Dreams 2 or LBP4 Both would be great. B-but Mm really needs to stop leaving their great games behind.
I have a feeling it might be something like Sackboy: A Big Adventure, but I probably won't be buying it because the reason for buying LBP and Dreams was so I could make my own games and I feel like whatever game MM make next will be more of a traditional, linear type of game. But I hope that one day LPB is brought back and a remake of LBP 2 is what I'd want the most. There's a whole new generation which has never played Little Big Planet!
If it's UGC-based, I'm steering clear unless it is feature-complete on launch. This generation's "eh, we'll fix it with a patch later" approach to game development has been a cancer eating the industry for too long.
Man that would suck. Unless it's LBP4, Leaving my old projects that would take years to make just to move platform. AND YOU NEED TO LEARN A HOWL NEW ENGINE!! uhh
Dreams is an unbelievable piece of software with so much potential. The problem was always Sony not giving it the limelight it deserved. Marketing for the game was non existent and it amazes me that you give this amount of power to consumers, what do they do? Make ridiculous memes. Dreams became known as the copyright meme machine. I think this is the ultimate reason Dreams was neglected. I think to prevent alot of lawsuits, they decided to pull the plug on development. Dreams would have hit its stride with that multiplayer update that they kept saying was coming. Everyone was like, "I wont play/create on dreams until they add multiplayer". Then we get the announcement that multiplayer is canned. We all also thought that limiting dreams to the power of the PS4 hardware was such a terrible idea. They easily could have added a lock that locked playstation 4 users out of PS5 exclusive Dreams so that the thermo limit could be extended. The benchmarks that I saw showed that the thermo could have been extended by at least 4x from the Ps4 to the Ps5. This means open world games would have been truly possible (some large low res open worlds were available but lacking in content due to limitations). Perhaps the true mistake was limiting the power of Dreams to a gaming console that is no where near as powerful as pc's. This would have truly unlocked the full potential of Dreams. I love that Dreams had everything that you need to create a video game (and more) within one piece of software. Everything from sculpting brand new assets for your game, to creating a unique sound fx for an ability, all possible within Dreams. You want to make a short film? Dreams can do it. Want to just grab a digital paint brush and create a work of art? Dreams can do that. Want to make a talk show hub where you post all things podcast related? You can do that too. Have an original tune stuck in your head that you would like to turn into a hit song? Dreams is capable! Only problem is, on a Playstation you will quickly hit a hard limit. I love Dreams so much and I am here even a year after this video was posted to see if there is any news at all about what Mm is up to. My hope has always been a Dream 2. I hate that they already said it wasn't. I appreciate the honesty to not build up unreasonable expectations, only to be severely disappointed when they do announce their next project. Since Dreams 2 is confirmed not to be their next project, my next favorite hope is that they literally just rebrand the technology of Dreams in a new title with multiplayer, expanded thermo limits, and even performance optimization tools that can be adjusted using logic to expand thermo limits even further, (ive always pictured a gadget called render distance gadget. It would act like a trigger zone in that it has a hard edge or a soft edge radius that renders only things within the hard zone, and low res textures based on values from the soft fall off edge.) (The closer the object gets to the player screen, the more detailed it is, the further away it is the less detailed and once it exits the zone completely, the object is then just stored into a memory cache). Perhaps even the ability to spawn in objects from another dream. assigning an object to a variable and then making the object persist within the dream (all scenes have access to the same variable data) then place an emitter down that then calls the object into the dream when you need it, then destroys it when you don't need it. That way you could have a scene with a library of assets and then have any of those assets emitted into the main playable Dream world either through trigger zones or other logic. Anyways I kinda got off topic but just couldn't help but do some idea crafting just in case Mm does do another project similar to Dreams with UGC type content.
i honestly think part of dreams' failure to be a huge IP was because it had too much freedom. LBP was super simple to just build something, but it also had the functions that allowed for greater depth of creativity. You could hop straight into create mode for the first time and build something pretty cool in an hour, but you could also spend days learning the inside outs of the game and create something extraordinary! This just isn't the case with create, you have to spend many many hours learning the game to actually make something fun. And all the while, you can't really immediately play with the stuff you're making like you could in LBP.
What would you like to see from Mm next?
Online multiplayer is definitely a must!
DREAMS 2. Yeah, just that.
anything relating to dreams
Would love to see Dreams continue even with another dev.
lbp ofc
I would lose my voice if I saw the announcement for LBP 4

It’s insane to think that such small studio makes game engine everytime (most of the time) when they releases a game xD

Hopefully another game company can make a game just like dreams
I had a friend suggest that they could hand Dreams over to another company, that could be a good solution too
They should make a PC port. With the Sony PC launcher rumors this could happen l. Could.
@@ScottMakesGamesnah it wouldn't feel the same
A game where they can ACTUALLY make money off of!
As long as it’s not pure greed then I’m in!

😩 Being a LBP/MM fan is literally torture. God I miss little big planet 2 in its prime, the RPCS3 private servers just don't hit the same.
There are many people who share your pain.

I think Sackboy: A big adventure but WITH create and sharing (you know, literally 2/3rds of the LBP motto) would be amazing!
I want to see a LBP 4 but back to LBP 2 😆 or a new modnation racers
I'm personally rooting for a LittleBigPlanet live service game from MM. A man can dream alright. 😂
They made one last update my guy called up and animate

It can be both lbp and dreams but it HAS to have the same freedom as dreams, otherwise its a very sad future ahead.
