@@TheKomentor The open leg dinos never look quite as good. The operator was great but the costume definitely let him down a bit. I did the job for a while but the vast majority of our dinosaurs kept your legs inside the costume thereby improving the look.

Totally not Smokey the bear it's not like you could get rid of the legs or cover them up. The joints on a dinosaur are different than that of a human. If you forced the joints to move around like a human, the illusion of a dinosaur would disappear, so the best option is to let them out in the open.
At least until that invisibility cloth becomes cheaper and available for civilian use. Then the legs can be covered in that stuff and made harder to see.

Microraptor had wing feathers on the hind limb as well and looked like a 4-winged raven. As for T-Rex, there is a debate going on. From what I gather the likelihood was that Tyrannosaurus was probably fully scaly and leathery in texture, but there ARE related species with feathers (Yutirannus, for example, who lived in cold regions and was basically a smaller feathered T-Rex).

Still not enough feathers. Unfortunately, an accurate feather-covered raptor-like dinosaur would be unrecognizable for most people. They'd take it for a giant chicken.
