MTD Yard Machine Model 31A 32AD700 179 CC 22 inch Snow blower Drive belt and Auger belt replacement

MTD Yard Machine Model 31A 32AD700 179 CC 22 inch Snow blower Drive belt Part number 754-04013 and Auger belt Part Number 754-04014 replacement. Snow season is approaching and the drive and auger belts were slipping at the end of last season so maintenance and replacements were in order.

I just garbage "liberated" one of these from my neighbors. After fixing the pull cord and replacing the carb, this was the next on the list and this video was super helpful! Thanks for making it so people can keep these old work horses running!

My Aunt has a Craftsman snow thrower that uses the same part number belts. Its the exact same thing just a different sticker on the top. This video was very helpful thank you for uploading it!

Thanks, your video was exactly what I was looking for. Got a good deal on a used Craftsman(MTD) 22” and it needed the auger belt replaced. The PO already had the new belt but, hadn’t installed it. This video should shorten my maintenance time. Saving this for future reference. Nicely done.

I see from the publish date of three winter ago I'm a little late in my comments.
I have a three year old Huskee(MTD) 24" with a 208cc OHV Powermore (CH-onda clone) engine and while not having any real difficultly with it yet. I thought it might be time to have the spare belts, new skid shoes. shave plate on hand and look up how to install on youtube.
For seasonal maintenance besides an oil change I would also replace the spark plug.
Did you lose or forgot to re-attach the belly plate after your transmission overhaul?
I only had two snow blowers from MTD (the Huskee and a Yardman) both of them had bottom plates that attached with 4 to 6 bolts.You don't want to have slush, dirt and debris get into your drive compartment!
