About EMD WDG4 Loco:-
The EMD GT46MAC is a freight-hauling diesel-electric locomotive with AC electric transmission built by General Motors Electro-Motive Diesel in 1997-1998 for Indian Railways, where they are classed as WDG4. Thirteen were built by EMD as order #958647, and a further eight were exported in kit form and were assembled in India. The class entered service in 1999.
Further construction has been under license in India by the Diesel Locomotive Works (DLW); more than 60 additional locomotives have been built as of 2006.They are numbered from #12001 upward. A similar type, the EMD GT46PAC, has also been produced for passenger service in India.
As of 2007, EMD and DLW have begun building GT46Ace's using IGBT technology to replace the older gate turn-off thyristor technology. Newer editions with 4,500 hp (3,400 kW) have been produced. Over 1,000 WDG-4 locomotives are currently in operation. Also WDG 4's newer version and dual cab locomotive WDG 4D are better to drive and it has more power.

Thats why production of these type of EMD locomotives is already stopped by railway manufacturers and now thet are making both side cab view EMD loco
Bigger question is why railways still persisting with diesel locos.

Not just release, it is quick release of brakes
@@Astrophile_Pixels The Brake liver is used only for applying brakes bt the ring is used to release the brake pressure...because without releasing the brakes pressure you will not get much speed with throttle
No releasing brake pressure its a vigilance to alert loco ki loco pilot alert hai brake pressure nahi hai okk

Bloody.... what is the use of operating loco from the opposite direction when you cant get the view of tracks in the front.....electric locos provide a better view to the locopilots. Why dont locopilots oppose to drive in an oppositr direction n why cnt they operate loco from a direction where they get the clear view......how do i see someone crossing track from a different angle.....it may be any animal on track
