    I grew up in one of the top places for thunderstorms in the US, and recently moved to the northwest, where they are non-existent. I miss them so much. Every time a thunderstorm would come, my younger brother and I would run to the porch or into my car to watch the Lightning (might've been dangerous lol). Weather is fascinating.

    Some have asked - this video appears to be near Fallston, Harford County, Maryland, USA. First yellow engine on driveway is from the Fallston Volunteer Fire Dept. Second red and white engine in front of house is Bel Air VFD (Forest Hill station). The red and yellow engine passing is Jarrettsville VFD. A lighting strike (dwelling) did require a full box assignment, hence the many engines and towers from several mutual aid companies (not hook and ladders). The assignment could have been held if nothing was initially evident but until it's proven there is not a fire the units continue in. Note the later engines did stage and did not send in crews or cleared upon arrival.

    Awesome video thank you! I'm in Washington state near Seattle we get some wild weather. When I was a kid and there was a storm my mom would load me up in the car and go watch it from a beach. Particularly a beach known as "Point No Point" very edge of our county where there's a lighthouse. Awesome views of storms.
    Now as an adult I still go out and watch storms, the windier, more lightning, louder the thunder and more the rain the better. I've even got my girlfriend now saying when there's a storm " hey lets go for a ferry ride to watch" or "lets go the coast for the weekend and watch the storm"
    Mother nature is the best entertainer and has some incredible shows. Keep the interest up! As for the negative comments ignore them. Sadly there are some very un-happy people in the world that have nothing better to do than be a**holes.
    Now just because I'm a bit of a stickler for detail (this is all for info and fun :) ) "hose trucks don't exist lol there are "Trucks" "Engines" "Rescue Rigs" " Medic Units" " Aid units" " Tenders" " Ladder trucks" " Aerials" and a few more. Hose draggers (firefighters) are sensitive about the equipment and apparatus tittles! :) lol
    Like I said AWESOME VIDEO thanks for sharing!!!

  • @SledgeHammer43

    One thing most fire engines have in common is they carry hose, water approximately around 1000 gallons, pumps 1250 gallons per minute to 2000gpm. and manpower between 3 and 8 people. 1000 feet of Supply Line usually 5 inch hose and 800ft of attack line a mix of 2.5 or 3 inch and 1.5 or 1.75 inch hose.
    Ladder trucks carry Ladders between 75 ft to 135ft in the USA, 116 feet of ground ladders to 216 feet. most also carry up to 500 gallons of water, Hose, and a pump.
    Squads, Heavy rescues, or special equipment trucks are mainly manpower and special equipment trucks.
    Quints are a Hybrid Engine and ladder truck. But they Do Not carry as much ground ladders as a ladder truck, and the ladder mounted to the truck is usually shorter around 50 to 75 feet.
    Ambulances also known as busses, and rescue squads.
    Some departments have to truck water into to fight fires they have Tankers some call them Tenders, Wagons, or just plain Tankers they carry Water approximately 1800 to 7000 gallons, portable tanks, some have a portable water pump some have mounted pumps. They usually have a small amount of hose and can dump all their water.
    Hose trucks are limited now to mainly big citys with a lot of industry. Such as Chicago, New York, Houston, Galveston, Miami, San Francisco, and so on. This information is not to be rude just so you know. Fire fighting was my life for 20 years. It is a proud brotherhood.

    hose truck ? never seen or heard of one of them in my 12 years of firefighting. no clue what ur referencing lol. In the fire service, there's 4 type of trucks; pumpers, ladder trucks, hazmat truck, or rescue trucks here in these united stated.

      Not a waste of taxpayers money. The engines responded in case there was fire. They are manned and ready in case of another emergency, relax. This is a normal structure fire response.
      Incidentally, this type of structure I call a McMansion. Gang nail plate truss construction, vast open attic space. If fire dwells in there, you will need those engines...quick.

    Dear Video Uploader,
    I'm sorry you have to receive so many rude and hateful comments. If one person is mean and rude then the sheeple will follow him and that appears to be what's happening here. One person trolled the video and if one scans through the comments, we can clearly see that there's a mob mentality happening here.
    It doesn't take a genius to see that lightening struck several times, and was horizontal, which is unusual, very odd, and a good catch for your video.
    It's sad that one person has to mistreat you because it makes them feel big, and that others follow like little puppies with the need to mistreat others so they don't feel so little about themselves. Forget the haters, none of them probably have anything uploaded to their channel worth watching so they just go around like losers criticizing those who do.

    • @strongjohnful
      @strongjohnful 10 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      and the haters hide behind their computer screens like wimps because all the things they say, they probably wouldn't say to our faces.

    • @kellinepickett4979
      @kellinepickett4979 10 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      strongjohnful Exactly!!! I'm 45 years old and I've lived 2 lifetimes and reinvented myself several times over, and never has anyone ever said the things to me that are said on the web. Nobody has ever criticized my appearance, or told me I'm stupid, or called me idiot in real life. That says a lot considering the years I've been alive and the places and people I've come into contact with. So if all the criticizing and hateful things that have been said to me have been said in the past 2 years that I've been using the internet, that tells me what people are truly about when they don't have to face the person they're hurting.

I hate a new neighborhood that looks like it’s doomed to become a ghetto in a short amount of time. There is no character. It reminds me of control and communistic thinking. “BE ME - BE NORMAL.” It sickens me.

Computers, backup hard drives, printers, appliances were not touched thank goodness.
