    I made my first journal for my friends birthday in April 2020, , and she cried and said nobody as ever taken such time and put so much love into something for me. I am going to do my 6 wives of Henry the VIII and my Japanese journal to house my letters from my Japanese pen friend when I was 11 - 15yrs old. Can’t wait but need to get motivated xxx I do enjoy your videos and love to hear your daughters little voice, as my 8 yr old granddaughter died in 2019 and I miss her little voice amongst other things, but started crafting just Christmas 2019 and it’s saved my life and sanity so I thank all you crafters on here THANK YOU XXXXXXx. Tina don’t worry about other people, you are your own person, if the don’t like it tough, life is too too short. Incidentally I loved the last tab it was so different and how fantastic to find that ribbon matching in so exquisitely .

      Oh Jacqui how lovely that your friend was so moved by your creating a journal for her, what a treasured gift. I am so sorry to hear about your granddaughter, you must miss her so much. Crafting really does have a healing quality doesn’t it? It has helped me through grief and struggles too. Much love to you x

    My favorite thing from 2020 is finding out about jj! I started with making things in April and have loved it more all the time. I love the things you make and the inspiration I get from you, too. Have a really good day. I love having your little girl join us, too.

    I’m still in my dressing gown and it’s 10.30am. Bit of a slow morning watching TH-cam before starting on my kitchen which is a disaster zone and put the washing away. That’s why I’m sitting here. It’s lockdown. Hubby is busy on a project so I’ve got all day to do everything. I’ll start after the video. I love the wedding couple on their pink fabric which is gorgeous. Your daughter is such a sweetie. Following in your crafting footsteps.
    I am putting this idea on my to do list. Thank you and thank your little girl 💕

      Lol, my son is still asleep! I think this lockdown is beginning to have that effect on everyone! Like you say, what's the rush? It looks like a lovely day here today though, it has been grey and rainy all week, so I am hoping to get out for a walk this afternoon (much to my daughters horror!) Yes, definitely make some of these, they're really fun x

    I’m like that....my own worst critic. Your kiss cuts look great. The border makes them stand out. My problem with the paper dolls is my need to hoard it’s terrible! I’m going to use some today. The clay sounds like it was a fabulous find.

    These are fabulous Tina I love them. This year I would like to have ago cross stitch and hand sewing. Last year I spent the time making huge crochet blankets for my 4 kids, and all my grandchildren. Where talking about king size beds as well. The kids love them, they already have them on there beds as its a lot colder now. xxxxx

    • @shabbydabbydoodah
      @shabbydabbydoodah  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh you are so talented, I have tried crocheting a few times, but it requires too much consistency of touch that my pieces ended up mishapen where I would randomly pull too tight and other times too loose! Lol. I can see why your kids love their blankets. Four king size crochet blankets, that must have literally taken your entire year? Yes it’s really cold at the moment here too, slept with an extra blanket over my duvet last night. Stay safe and well x

    Absolutely love these tags and the new variety chosen with the paper dolls!! My favorite project for 2020 was the envelope folio flippy thing and I made one for my Mom. She loved it. My other one was the Collage Masterboard book and I made one of those also. Far too many others you have made to name! Hope you’re having a great week! We’ve been having some cool, crisp, sunny weather here in Washington state,(a lovely change from gloomy rainy weather!)😂
    I have really been enjoying these favorite projects from 2020...I have watched each one of them, but yesterday I didn’t comment because we were having the inauguration of the new President and Vice President, so the day went quickly here. I am loving this video today with the tags, and it’s always fun to see what you create! Always inspires me to get busy and create too!!
    Tell your daughter that it’s always fun to see her creations too, and I loved the way she had braided the clay! Thank you for sharing these favorite inspirations, Tina. You have a wonderful end to your week with your family!💗🤗🌸

    Tina, these are so gorgeous! I have two huge totes of fabric that I absolutely need to get at at the back of my closet. I have been hoarding fabric and yarn for 30 years and it's about time I figured out exactly what I have. I want to find fabrics that will match or contrast in my ?Purple Rain" journal I am working on. Just finishing up my "Perfect Pockets" and I am continuing to make ephemera to use in that journal. These will make perfect tags and journaling cards and the timing couldn't be better! :)

    Hi Tina, these are so cute! I have a package of the paper dolls that I purchased about 2 years ago and I only used one. I felt that I needed to hoard them 🙄. Why do we do that?? I love using fabric on my tags. As I’ve said, I’m a quilter, so I have TONS of fabric.
    Tell your Daughter it’s ok to stay in her jammies. My oldest daughter and her 4 kids have pajama days. If it’s cold outside or raining, they just all stay in their jammies, all cuddly and warm. Even my Daughter. 😂 Hugs 🤗

    Hi Tina - This one is a nice video. I was watching your old "how to make a basic journal" and that's also a nice one. Going to cut some fabric. Re cut-outs, I don't like them. I think it's because they are photographs and I don't "know" the people - it's like having strangers all over the place. Enjoying the series. Jackie

    Time to drag out my fabrics!!!
    QUESTION: I was wondering where you got all those cut-outs. You mentioned you'd done a bunch of "Scan & Cut".
    Is that with a Cricut Machine???
    I haven't bought a die cut machine yet. Not really sure which one would be best for me. But fussy cutting is not so easy now that I'm older. So I think a machine would be helpful.
    Cricut is more expensive. But I THINK you don't have to buy all those dies. So money wise, it seems like a wash.
    Cricut seems fairly complicated. Not sure I could use it.
    Have any advise on due cut machines???
    Austin, TX USA

    • @shabbydabbydoodah
      @shabbydabbydoodah  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have a scan & cut (I keep it downstairs) . It’s really handy, although it does take a bit of getting used to, and it doesn’t always cut accurately, but it does most of the time. I was leant a cricut machine to try out from my sisters friend, I found it really complicated and didn’t like it at all. My big shot it pretty old but it’s handy for cutting shapes using the dies. That and the scan & cut are for different things really as the big shot couldn’t cut a sheet of fussy cuts. I hope this helps x
