The only similarity between a Sherp and a FatBoy (FB) is the concept. Sherp is self sustaining and backwoods repairable. FB is complicated 1. FB, good luck repairing your steering 2.Sherp provides minimal tools, but that's all you need. 3. FB is maintenance free, heh heh heh that means when it breaks down you can't maintain it. LOL The similarities are skin deep. Sherp is for true backwoods, FB is for Glampers. I would love a head to head 1K excursion just to prove the point.

For that money they could have gone electric with a huge battery pack and 4 hub motors. Could run tools, Air, charge on a solar array or wind turbine. I don't think they will sell many of these to private owners, it's for another market entirely. I think most of these will be rented for drill sights and things like that. It's good to have competition, but I personally would rather get a SHERP for a couple of reasons. First the entrance on the front being single and not split could make getting in and out in water more risky. Second the SHERP can put additional fuel in the wheels extending its range. And third the water speed is faster on a Sherp, for those of us that would us it in that environment a lot. I do see some positives in this Fat Truck design, it just could use a little more refinement methinks.
