Ohhhh, as a thick haired girl I can tell you that thick hair doesn’t equal root volume - my hair is heavy and, therefore, the roots end up sad and flat without lots of help. :( But, otherwise, I’ve learned to be grateful for my thick hair... most of the time.

I own both types of the product, what I find is with the waffle iron you can just stick it in your hair and freestyle clamping. But with the traditional crimper you have to stretch your hair first everytime you clamp. I prefer the waffle one slightly more as require less skill and time to get a nice result. Also there are other branding of the waffle iron on various sales platform online :)

Hah, first saw the Voloom on Milabu's channel- her husband was making waffles with it! Very funny, and that's all I can think about when I see you using the Voloom. Besides the price differential, the Lil Crimp Crimp seems like it can get much closer to the roots- Yay!!
Lil' crimp crimp, I have an even smaller Bed Head crimper that I use specifically for adding volume too! Love it and yep no temperature settings on that one except on and off! However, it was only $12 .
Hi Leigh Ann, I love the color pink on you. Lil Crimp Crimp. You crack me up. Both sides look good. The Bed Head worked well. Just as good a tool at a cheaper price. It's a win win. :)
I think a crimper is a great cheaper option, but I still believe the Valoom is the winner, not a tie. The whole point of the waffle iron pattern is to leave less visible texture while increasing volume. I think you are clamping the Valoom too long, and not doing enough layers. If the waffle iron texture is less visible it's much easier to hide under the top layer of hair.
💋LeighAnn, It’s crazy cause when you made the video I already owned the BedHead hair tool from Amazon that I love. I was one of the ones that left info in my comment because it is Great and inexpensive. I have one length, naturally straight, thick, hip length hair if that tells you anything and this works. Because of the weight of my hair I need lift and a little volume at the roots. It works! Thank you for doing this video. You have Always been so in-tune with those that watch you. You are simply Amazing! (Sincere gush) Info to anyone who reads this: the BedHead Deep Waver Iron is Great too. If you have longer than shoulder length hair, it creates beautiful deep waves. The original video did make me wonder why it seemed like such a mind blown thing, mini root lifting crimpers were out quite some time ago, estimating about 10 years ago. i'm not so in to subtle volume, i'm just going in with my actual crimpers and doing all of my hair XD
