@@LurgsHowToGuides I have tire light and may have problem with alternator unfortunately. Car shuts off and when it does battery light pops on. I am able to turn back on and light is gone. It happens unexpectedly. Now that I know what it might be though I feel more informed to go to the mechanic on my own. Thanks again.
@@Cs-uk8do Tire light is easily fixed. Just inflate your tires to the correct pressure then reset the TPMS video here th-cam.com/video/Q-V5JX45DS/w-d-xo.html. The battery light isn't an issue really unless it stays on when you are driving. You can test the battery easily video here th-cam.com/video/_nPovzpyCdA/w-d-xo.html
I don't know why people say try not to let your fuel get low in the tank or you will start picking dirt or sludge up from the bottom of the tank, well i have news for everyone that says that "the pick up pipe in the tank sucks from the bottom so even if there is ½ ¾ or full tank of fuel it sucks up from the bottom of the tank" that's the reason cars have fuel filters and water seperaters in the fuel system between the tank and the engine.

Can someone please tell me how to reset the brake light indicator? I changed the burned out bulbs but the warning light is still on. The manual doesn’t say how to turn it off.
That's odd, normally it would just switch off, did you replace the bulbs like for like? If you put LED in instead of normal bulbs the computer thinks they are still blown as the LED bulbs uses such little power. Hope you get it sorted.
@@LurgsHowToGuides I went to AutoZone and the guy there switched them out maybe he didn’t use the correct bulbs since the indicator light is still on. I’ll go back up there today and ask them to check them to see if they are the correct bulbs.
I get a notification on the central navigation display in between the miles and trip. It says mph 55 and then low gauge and then the trip counter. Do you know what that's about?
I have the red steering light, the epc light and the battery light on when I insert the key. As soon as I push the key all the way to start the engine all these light disappear. What does it mean? The lights never come on when the engine is on or if I'm driving I noticed the steering is a bit stiffer too. I have a passat b6
It’s probably just the startup checks the computer does. As long as they go out when you are driving then nothing to worry about. If the steering gets stiffer it could be a loose or worn alternator belt so keep an eye on that just in case.
Is the DPF light supposed to come on like this on startup or not? I noticed mine does the same thing, and I'm wondering whether it was always like this or am I just making things up. Thought it could be a problem with the DPF
@@LurgsHowToGuides Yes, it was always there, I found a video I took a while back and it was on when starting. I guess I just haven't noticed it since I didn't really pay attention to the DPF. It goes out really quickly, approximately at the same time the glow plugs go off. This is probably the engine management light equivalent for diesel engines, I think. Thank you for your answer :)
Yes that's bad, it's an MOT failure. You will need an OBD2 reader to see what the issue is. It's probably a faulty sensor on one of the wheels, sometimes you can clean them but normally they need replacing.
Anyone know how to reset the bulb warning light? My side view mirror blinker light is out and on 2013 vw passat you have to replace the whole side view mirror. It’s not even a necessary blinker light but now the bulb warning light is always on my dashboard
Sounds like a loose connection somewhere, bit of a pain. You might have a dashboard light adjuster for brightness, try moving that up and down to see what happens

If it goes out then it's normal. If it stays on theme there is an issue with the particulate filter probably.

Sometimes the filters block up, if you rev it hard in a lower gear it can clear it, but if it goes out then nothing to worry about.

Means your daytime running lights are on. Annoyingly most modern vehicles so have the front lights on all the time.

Same as my VW T5, DRL on all he time unless sidelights or headlights on. Personally I don't like them on all the time.
