I have a 2016 prius. My friend opened his door while I was driving very slowly. A Yellow exclamation point triangle flashed and made a sound for only a few seconds.
Once I stopped the car the light went off.
Light was only on for exactly 3 seconds.
Do you think it was a warning that the door was open while driving/car moving?
Or something different.

ANYONE is even so much as a DROPLET of COMMON SENSE I think would have REALIZED everything you noted. THE MOST IMPORTANT and INVALUABLE WARNING would be specific to OIL PRESSURE LOSS or INCREASED ENGINE OVERHEAT but NO, that is NOT impemented. Of course NOT.

I'll tell ya' , EVERY TIME I step out of my vehicle this friggin' thing goes 'beep-beep-beep-beep'. The most annoying SHT, especially if you leave for work very early or arrive home very late. AGAIN, these people are such GENIUSES and yet possess very little common sense. There are ABSOLUTELY NO audible alerts on the dashboard WARNING LIGHTS.
Wouldn't THAT make so much more sense to implement??? If your oil is LOW, engine temperature is BEGINNING to go up OR air is being lost in a tire and you simply don't notice it visually, you still have the redundancy of an AUDIBLE alert that would be absolutely life saving for YOU and the VEHICLE. So AGAIN, these people are so BRILLIANT and yet at the same time, so DUMB.
