@@charliemalick8985 Thank you! In the video, I used datapacks, which are different than mods. They're much easier to make and can accomplish like 90% of what someone would usually want to do with a mod. If you're interested in making datapacks, I'd say Legitimoose is the best by far if you're an absolute beginner. This is the very first video I followed that got me started: th-cam.com/video/fdo_E61vVlw/w-d-xo.html I recommend watching it from start to finish and actually making the Penguin Cannon alongside him. If you truly want to learn modding, you'll need to learn Java first. Once you have the basics down, you should follow this playlist: th-cam.com/video/RSqSZoJQXvg/w-d-xo.html You could also learn datapacks first, then learn modding later (I recommend this for people without coding experience). The nice thing about doing that is that the general knowledge about how minecraft works will carry over when you finally pick up modding. Hope that helps, and best of luck :)

Thank you! That would be a fun one. I really like the end cities personally, so if I do anything end related, it would be to add a whole new structure I think.
It’s better to say that is embarrassing that a company like mojang refuse to create this kind of structures in the game while a common person like him did this in only 7 days.
@@limpterror751 to be fair to mojang, they've got to work something into the game that they are sure fits, and have to go through a much longer process than someone making a mod. (since what they make, EVERYONE has to play with, unless they want to miss that and all future content additions.) which doesn't always work though (seriously some of the shit that they've done in recent updates is just odd)
We just gonna forget that the last few updates completely overhauled both the Nether and caves and how the entire world generation works? Yeah? Okay...
I love the storytelling in the rooms that you built, like the Loom room is so simple but adds so much depth to the structure. Crazy attention to detail throughout this entire project!
I hope people enjoy these and are in awe of what individual creatures/small teams are capable of while also understanding modpacks are a completely different from full updates for the main game. They are completely separate entities. That being said, if a small creator could effectively mod this into other versions of Minecraft, all the parity bells and whistles, you are one upping Mojang in the best way possible. Keep up the good work!
This is just what having an effective workflow is like. Microsoft's overly restrictive and inefficient policy can (and imo should) be criticised. Yes, this isn't completely polished or perfectly designed, but half of the features that make it into Minecraft aren't either, despite their claims of "extensive quality testing".
I kinda like the challenges of the shulker boxes cause yes , ya know the aliens wouldnt want you to get to their treasure and that makes sense story wise.

Yeah... sometimes I feel like... this is just a jungle temple but really big, like in the jungle temple Mojang probably was saying "Yeah! and the players need to activate the levels to obtain the treasure!" forgetting the player can break blocks, this is the exact same thing but bigger and with decorations

Bruh this is proof that mojang is just lazy. They always say tHe uPdAtEs aRe hArD tO mAkE, and then they take like 1 year to release the smallest updates, but this guy makes an epic update in just 1 week.
you dont understand they have multiple versions in different programming languages, so they have multiple teams that are split instead of one giant team, multiple games, including minecraft legends which they were spending a lot of time developing at the time, have to bugtest and playtest, have to rewrite old code (both to make newer updates more efficient and also to account for updating programming languages), have to please microsoft, make sure every niche of players is satisfied, and make sure content feels "minecrafty"/doesn't stray too far away from the game. plus, the video is about a datapack about a single structure, while mojang must make a whole update in different programming languages. mojang is not lazy, you just do not understand the development process.
This is truly amazing, Mojang should hire you. Please make more of these, redo, upgrade and update all structures in games, add more stuff. Build your own mod pack with all of this, it would be amazing vanilla style modpack. Definitely subscribing and going to follow your progress.
You should maybe have made the pharaoh spawn when you opened the tomb, it could’ve been an extra boss. Maybe it would have some sort of immunity to the sand sword though

I think you should make the pit into a small redstone puzle. You have to find all the pressure plates and activate them all at the same time. Like putting items on the pressure plates. The pit will open up.
It is entirely different for the developers to make something across many platforms that works for tens of thousands of ppl than it is to add some client side retextures
@@brendenknox6720 they're also the developers of the #1 game of all time. They have the money, the player base, the employees, the creativity, etc. It's just laziness

the thing is though, he isn't limited to the confines of what Mojang considers "vanilla", this clearly shows in the fact that the whole "update" feels very modded. Which is fine, but it's not fair to compare mods to official Minecraft updates. Sure it takes a really long time for Mojang to update the game, but most of the time spent on development isn't just coding. They have to come up with completely fresh ideas so they aren't accused of ripping from the modding community, which is already hard enough because Minecraft has one of the biggest modding communities of all time. Not only that but they also have to make those ideas feel as vanilla as possible without straying too far from the core aspects of what makes Minecraft..... Minecraft. Mad respect to this guy, but I don't think it's fair to compare him with Mojang considering how much creative freedom he has.

@@Whimzee Hi Whimzee, I'm a big fan of work and I also want to get into coding Minecraft mods. What's a good place to start as well as some good resources?
Once you have the basics down, you should follow this playlist: th-cam.com/video/RSqSZoJQXvg/w-d-xo.html
You could also learn datapacks first, then learn modding later (I recommend this for people without coding experience). The nice thing about doing that is that the general knowledge about how minecraft works will carry over when you finally pick up modding.
Hope that helps, and best of luck :)

they do, but microsoft hates good updates. adding hype on a useless thing inflates the amount of copies sold than if they actually put in effort but only made an update every few months OH WAIT! they dont even make an update every few months, its more lew a few years. god microsoft sucks like ass.

The sword should have a worthiness requirement that makes it so you can only get it if you've killed every boss in the game
That sounds sick as hell tbh, imagine you go into the pyramid temple early game, somehow make it all throughout, collect the ankh pieces, offer them to the sword, and then a message states you are not yet worthy, returning the ankh to you
Or a level requirement where u can only use it if ur like level 50

Its the one and only whimzee

Your creativity, efficiency and determination are amazing.
If you made an update like this in every biome (perhaps with a legendary weapon in every biome?) I would purchase it in a heartbeat.

As somebody who is FASCINATED with Ancient Egypt and Egyptian Mythology, i LOVE this upgrade! Great Job! The Desert Biome NEEDS a big upgrade like this in Vanilla.
You should totally make a modpack with all the ancient structures you made! I feel like it would definitely be very popular! Good job with the game mechanics and designs.

Bruh this is proof that mojang is just lazy. They always say tHe uPdAtEs aRe hArD tO mAkE, and then they take like 1 year to release the smallest updates, but this guy makes an epic update in just 1 week.
so many of you idiots assume the goal should be more content. to a ton of people vanilla already feels modded.
This is a building. An awesome one but xd
you dont understand they have multiple versions in different programming languages, so they have multiple teams that are split instead of one giant team, multiple games, including minecraft legends which they were spending a lot of time developing at the time, have to bugtest and playtest, have to rewrite old code (both to make newer updates more efficient and also to account for updating programming languages), have to please microsoft, make sure every niche of players is satisfied, and make sure content feels "minecrafty"/doesn't stray too far away from the game. plus, the video is about a datapack about a single structure, while mojang must make a whole update in different programming languages. mojang is not lazy, you just do not understand the development process.
I think the Ankh being farmable so easily and being better than the totem of undying might be a smidge overpowered.
This is truly amazing, Mojang should hire you. Please make more of these, redo, upgrade and update all structures in games, add more stuff. Build your own mod pack with all of this, it would be amazing vanilla style modpack. Definitely subscribing and going to follow your progress.
Thank you for the sub! Working at Mojang would be a dream. I'll certainly do more update videos :)
@@Whimzee I will look forward to it ;)
You should maybe have made the pharaoh spawn when you opened the tomb, it could’ve been an extra boss. Maybe it would have some sort of immunity to the sand sword though

I think you should make the pit into a small redstone puzle. You have to find all the pressure plates and activate them all at the same time. Like putting items on the pressure plates. The pit will open up.

Mo-yang is offended lol
He implemented this in a data pack though. If Mojang used the backend they use for datapacks they could easily implement stuff like this too. Almost makes me think Mojang should experiment with implementing stuff purely in datapacks...
Dude, how do you have only 16K subs? This is much more impresive, than what can Mojang do in 1 year
the thing is though, he isn't limited to the confines of what Mojang considers "vanilla", this clearly shows in the fact that the whole "update" feels very modded.
@@flamingosoup6375 ok sorry dude, but this is lots of words, so i've read only some stuff from it

@Aviation Ace isn't the world randomly generated for each seed
@Aviation Ace that is one of the steps to update Minecraft, bot an additional step after you updated it, but yes, it does take a long time to update something without breaking everything else
@@flamingosoup6375 they also have to fix every bug and make it balanced as this would not be balanced at all and minecraft runs on its own game engine and they would have to code in entirely new functions rather than just modding in things using already added functions.

i like the idea of other biome civilizations having their own version of a totem of undying, i think it could make sense if they are all equally hard to get and are unique in maybe a buff they provide. great video with lots of hard work.
This update needs to be added to Minecraft ASAP
Definitely not. That sword is not vanilla friendly lol.
And it’s too much effort
NO it is not balanced and does not fit the game.
"We won't be adding pyramids as it would encourage players to raid actual pyramids, sorry!"
It doesn’t fit the game, the sword itself is broke and so is the new totem thing, also the way this generates using those gigsaw blocks won’t work on big scale and on every platform…
12:53 think of it as a feature for the lore, because the Pharo would not want people steals JG his stuff after his death
It's so well, coded, cutted and creative. Really undervalued channel. Leaving a sub

Its a joke, I know some people will be old enough to remember this but they used to update their game every 3 months in 2013 for Xbox 360 and PS3😂I don’t know the order but I remember them adding the End Portal and it had no purpose, then 3 months later they added the End Dimension as well as the Ender Dragon, then 3 months later they would add something like the ocean monument or the desert temple/ jungle temple, 3 months later, new mobs and blocks, oh what’s that, we now had painted glass, oh cool 3 months later we have the Savannah biome, damnnnnn we now got horses.
Nowadays: 1 year later - armadillo
Every 1.5 years - here’s a major update (ps you have to guess which features won’t be added because we don’t have enough time, and will be added in the next update)

If you ever add more to this, you should make it so that when you break the tomb, the pharaoh appears as like a boss fight or something.
One idea is that you can have only a few percent temples to spawn with the sword since it looks too op. and also make the temple much rarer to find since it is that much larger, kind of like mansions or strongholds
or have a high chance for the sword to be cursed and it can give you random negative statuses every time you summon a sand block
