Sudbury Friday 5 [] Can I Break a 17-Year-Old Club Record? [] Racing Strongly as a Veteran Runner

Since turning 60 I have drawn motivation from trying to beat my club's F60 road records.
So far I have managed to take the 5k, 10k, Half Marathon, 20 miles and Marathon.
So I jumped at the chance to race a licensed 5 mile road race in the lovely county of Suffolk, whilst enjoying a mini break down there.
Could I maintain 8 minute mile pace on this hilly course?

Trying not to let age be a barrier to goals and targets. There's always something to aim for, and good to give those coming after me a challenging record to go for. 😁😅

Well done strong running and an awesome new club record! you can be proud of yourself for that effort.
When I go to a race I just try and do the best I can on the day when I do set a goal time I'm normally not far off it.

Congrats Dawn on the club record for age group, top running, John was saying what goal do we aim for when doing 5 mile 5k type races, I personally try to do the best I can on the day, pretty much like to see if the training I’ve done has abled me to make some improvements in race time, coming 1st 2nd or 3rd is a good goal, but my first goal is doing my best on the day, keep on keeping on, keep up the good work, John & Dawn 👍👣✌️🌴😀🥳👊🏼✅

Welcome to Suffolk! That hill on the course isn’t to everyone’s taste but that was one of my better races of the series last year. Well done on smashing the club record

It's the kind of hill that once you get used to it, it wouldn't be that bad...I think any hill in a race is tough. 😁 I actually feel it was a nice course. 👍
