My primary camera is a Sena 10C Evo on my helmet. Not the best video, but not terrible. I record every minute I ride, for both dashcam and recording memories purposes. I love that it is also a communicator, and the comm mic is live for recording me while I have the camera recording. I have used two previous Innovv cameras on one bike; the C5 and the K2, and they had their challenges, most notably the K2's power converter wouldn't shut off when its trigger lost power and drained my batteries. I've been considering going GoPro (either the Hero9 or the Max) to get better quality and spectacular image stabilisation.
The footage looks HORRIBLE. Do you know you can do the same, with better results, using a cheap gopoor? I use one of those and 4K is amazing, no GPS, but can display the date and time, and turn on and off on it's own with the motorcycle ignition, once the sd card is full, it will record over or tell you it's time for a swap. Installation... 5 minutes. Losing it... in Romania... 3 seconds? Maybe less depending on the thief will.
I have a CamPark - ACT74 A - It is pretty good. Especially for a first (dipping the toe into Motovlogging) camera. I've mostly used it as a camera for videoing hiking so far. Picture is ok and the sound is good up to about 25kph (Then it is quickly just wind noise). It cost me $120nz (I think $69 US). Its stabilization is adequate if it is mounted on your helmet.
I bought an INNOVV K1, it was very unreliable yet cost a fortune. Swore I’d never buy another INNOVV product again. Replaced it with a GoPro Clone for £30 and that’s worked perfectly for a few years.
I use a go pro which does a brilliant job at filming my rides. The police that caught me two years ago whilst I was riding with a lot of enthusiasm on the Eildon-Jamieson road used the footage in court to have my license suspended for six months. Both the police & the judge where impressed by the quality of the camera.
@@motorcycle4915 Unfortunately in the state I live in the police can confiscate anything that can help them prove there case. It’s not uncommon to have your gopro’s taken buy the police to download the footage & use it for evidence. The same thing happened to a fellow motorcycle rider who is my mate.He was charged with over thirteen different offences.
I have Innovv K2 as my incident recorder but use a Garmin Verb as a front mounted action camera in a waterproof protection case with the advantage that it is powered through the case from a DC/DC power supply, so you can set it to record on power up or manually, another advantage over GoPro is it connects via Bluetooth headset for audio without silly bulky adapters.
Still would like to see the “vs” part re: comparison with GoPro. In Canada the K5 is $665.85 (taxes in) + delivery. Of course, that’s nothing for a GS owner. But, for those who have no inclination towards posting for profit, a half decent “pre-owned” GoPro can be bought for $250.00. Any experienced advice?
I use a Go Pro Hero 9 on chin mount. I think you would only be able to use it in conjunction with Say a Go pro due to not being able to be removed from bike and can only see directly forward or backwards. Most people video in all different situations on and off bike. You would also have the difference in video quality of your finished film when using the Innovv 5 and say a Go Pro.
Great camera setup but the worst pain in a content creator is the sound... And innovv just nailed it for me!! Just order it! buy bye $500!! hahah great review bud
Interesting vid as always, though I would have been far more interested to watch the young lady instruct us how to wash a motorbike! I use a Sena C10, for one reason only. I do long distance (maybe 10hr/day rides) tour/adv riding in Aus, and don't need 10hr/day of boring footage. The Sena has a video tag button which records the previous/present/next minute so I can capture just the interesting bits and have a manageable amount of footage to download and deal with each night. Other than that feature it's quite crappy. You mentioned a button on this K5 which may do a similar job, but didn't give details ? Other comments on here about K5 stability are not encouraging. Cheers.
Great informative video Dave. Question, Does the recorder have a constant live view output? For a monitor on/in the cockpit (rear camera). Can you alter the Bit rate? And how big do the file get before the recorder breaks them up. Good work mate, subscribed
Brother , , I was trying to reach you for a while, I have a BMW S1000xr , I want to install Innove K5 cam system on to it . But I don’t have any can smart , so was thinking of tapping the tail light with a possi tap , to connect the yellow cable for switch power , but some one from BMW bikes told me that this will cause the bike to give out error codes . Is it true? Or is it safe to tap the cable ? Or is there any other way to do it ? Please guide me .
hi. can i ad a rode wireless go receiver to the k5 main and the counterpart to my helmet? than i think i dont need any wire from the cam to my helmet? would this work?
Where did you have the mic when you were riding? I could hear the engine as well as your voice. Cool. But where was that mic exactly??? Peace & great videos!
I was thinking of buying one K5 and finally put GoPro away from me but you manage to convince me not to. Unfortunatelly I have to stay stuck with the GoPro .....
If I decide I need a dash cam, I think I'll wait for their next K3 version, with dual 1080p cameras and improved wi-fi speed... 'Till then, my Midland XT300 action cam does a decent enough job...
@@LongWayHome thanx for letting me know. If you ever come here for a holiday or for another reason let me know, I would love to go for a ride with you and have a beer. Really enjoy your vlogs.
Without good Image Stabilisation it just isn't up to the job of being an 'action cam'. Until Innovv releases a version with IS you're better off with a GoPro or Insta360. If you want the dashcam features for safety then you're better off saving your money and getting the K3 or even the K2.
Great video, as always! First - I don't clean my bike, ever. It is only 31 years old and it doesn’t need cleaning yet. Occasional rain is plenty enough. So I do not want Dave to clean my bike! Unless the video showed Dave do some bike-cleaning. Then she can do it. Next - the huge problem with that camera is the behaviour in the time-domain. It really sucks. It offers like four ugly twitches a second. Sucky-sucky! PS. You look amazing! A year ago you did not look very healthy. PPS. Are you dave, is it just a mirror you have to your right? PPPS. Please don’t use that camera in your videos, it needs to be much improved before being worthy your superb channel. Still use my single lens Innovv C3. Its hardwired to my bike, and is essentially a dash cam. Not Everyone wants to Vlog, I just want a decent recording system, that's on with the ignition. I will probably upgrade to a system with a rear cam, but again, it only needs to be dash cam quality. I like the idea of the remote lens, for the mounting flexibility
I just bought Innovv K5 and I really regret it... stabilization is soooo bad that even on perfecly smooth surface shakes as hell... to take memory card you need screwdriver and its not easy to screw it back in. overall I agree that picture is a big improvement but it doesn't change fact that any cheap helmet camera will do better then this €500 trash :(
We are sorry that our product failed to meet your expectations. Our engineers are working on the video stabilization problem. And we have changed the screws by thumbscrews according to feedback.
Unwatchable footage, no stabilization. If its this shaky on smooth road surfaces, it will be useless off-road. The problem is when you try to combine your GoPro footage, which is quite nice, and Innovv K5's which is noticeably much much worse.
Grading the small camera like a GoPro, DJI Osmo Pocket and any other, are ways to ruin the footages. Don't trust any crazy camera reviwer much for this kind/type of camera. They ruin at first when grade then can be even more destroy when meet with the current video compression on social medias including TH-cam. Just grade or alter it as less as possible.
Sorry but don't use a camera. Don't want the evidence to be logged electronically!!!🚀🏎🏍😂😂😂😱 Poor old Dave... gets all the abuse and I bet you didn't even ask hime of it was ok to use his toolkit!!!😂😂😂

The place where getting your motorcycle news is easier than getting Dave to run the innovv dashcam wiring but not by much.
I don't think the image quality is much better than the older version.

A DC/DC power supply? And an Innov V2 that does not pick up registration plates properly at High passing speed,
Can you explain?
Timing is everything, @5.33, see what the footage looks like, cut immediately to advert with fish monger and a flying fish.... just brilliant Dave.
