@@davrac2008 No issues with the bike. It has performed faultless. It’s just coming to the end of the finance agreement and I’m getting the new version.
Wish there was a way for US customers to drop our bike for a few days. Thinking that might be a bit costly ha. Great channel and love the professionalism of the installs. Love discreet.
Hi Steve. Enjoyed the install vid and agree that the front and rear cameras are well suited to the central position. With your first hand knowledge do you think it feasible to mount the K5 on a steel bracket behind the grille such that it sits further forward than where your K2 lens was to get around seeing the sides of the beak. The grille could then be replaced with a 3D printed version that had a clearance hole with inbuilt bezel to sit around the lens but not touching and the whole grille front brought further forward to make it look standard. This could then be mounted either by screws or rubber push on type panel mountings making it easier to get access when needed. I’ve been toying with this for a while with my C5 (I needed audio as the memory isn’t that sharp these days😂😂) but I’m now looking to upgrade to the K5. Cheers and keep up the good work👍
Thanks for the shipping tip on the Skylift if sent to Colorado, U.S. I so want the Skylift but I guess it was not meant to be. I loved this video! You do brilliant work. Wish I could find someone here in Colorado that does as good of work, that you do.
Phenomenal job on the install and really appreciate your diligence in the tidiness of the install, use of braiding, crimping, etc. I can easily get away with those holes in the front/rear here int he US. Keep it up!
Love the placements. I think the rear camera may need a peak from the number plate light above. The front camera is in a perfect position however I want the K5 and nothing to obscure the view so may have to go upside down under the beak. Loss of height but nothing to obscure the left and right. BUT HOW DO YOU PLACE IT THERE? 🤷🏻♂️ Till I figure it out I’m waiting to buy it. Excellent video has really helped me. 😳🙄👌🏼🤘🏻🙏🏻
Lots of though going into this......Good. I suggest a fork mount. www.abikething.com/product/denali-50mm-60mm-tube-mount-kit-for-mounting-auxiliary-lights-to-inverted-fork-tubes/
@@ABIKETHING Thanks for replying... with all due respect I’m just not a fan of having the camera side mounted to the left or right. Also as the K5 camera has a side entrance to access the SD card you need access to the right hand side. The rear camera in the reflector centered BANG ON.... it’s just the front to figure out 😩🤷🏻♂️😳
Nice install Steve! Why do you still recommend installing the DC converter directly to battery? Do we have any limitations or malfunctions if we go with the cansmart? I have this pigtail connector from you, and I would prefer to connect my K3 directly to cansmart!
Hi Steve enjoyed the install vid, one daft question, when it comes time to change the bike is the reflector lens a replaceable item or does it come with the mud guard?
I think 'HEX' should incorporate a lean-sensitive function into its array of control-options in both the EZ-Can and CAN-Smart platforms. Since the lean-sensitive signal is already present in the CANBUS systems of these bikes, the 'cansmart' may piggyback off this opportunity to light-up/intensify corresponding pods on each side of the bike as the rider leans in (of course, provided that two circuits are set up as a light pair). I feel this can be done probably via a software update or a totally new firmware, This idea struck me because the cansmart and EZcan are currently able to utilize the ambient light sensors on these bikes to alter the pods' performance under different light conditions. Your thoughts Steve!?
@A Bike Thing, but what about Parking Mode on the Innovv? Q: Is parking mode / crash detection still functional when wired into the Hex/CanSmart when the motorcycle is turned off and unattended?
Hi. Superb video covering lots of the interesting aspects of your work. Liked the direct connection to the Cansmart. Everything very positive. What is the crackling noise on the camera video? Finally, does the grill mount work on an F750GS?
Thanks for your videos Steve. My 4 hex can circuits are taken up by 2x s4s, a B6 and a SoundBomb, if i want to add a k3, should i swap anything out or have it connected directly to the battery? Thanks!
Nice install, one question is, does the Innov have a motion sensor that activates it if the bike is parked and the ignition is off. If so would this feature work with this set up?
It might be a bit late, but it does indeed have a motion sensor. However, it needs the permanent 12v supply so that it can activate it, so I think you would have to connect it directly to the battery to make it work. But you could still connect the ezCan to the switched signal, and use that as the third wire on the Innovv supply, that way you have permanent power and a switched controllable signal.
Hi Steve Love the K2 and the idea of a grill mount. You fitted my K2 system back in November (just before you moved). How easy would it be to move the front camera to the grill system?
I wish I still had my 2018 GSA Rallye (getting too old for dirt)! I am now buying 2021 R1250RT and want to install Innovv K2/3 on it. Have you done an install on an RT (especially the one with the ACC pod on the front)? That would be a great video...just saying.
hello, So i had a question. I wired everything the way you did, but I am running into a problem. when ever I turn the bike on to accessory mode the innovv will not turn on, even if I turn the engine on. I have to manually push the silver button for it to come on and start recording. I made sure to wait plenty of time before hitting the silver button. Ive also played around with the setting on the cansmart app on my computer. I have the innovv k2 and denali lights (cansmart).
Hi, Thank you for another best video .... Could you please explain difference between connecting K2 to cansmart or directly to battery ? Is there any advantage or disadvantage in each connections ? Thank you very much
Sweet install of the K2, wondering if the K5 front mounts just as nice? BTW, just found your shop, channel and Facebook page so I have a ton of questions ;)
Hi I have s1000xr 2017 , wanted to install K5 , but BMW dealer said it will give lot of error codes if I try to do it and try to tap on to Tail light cable for the K5 yellow cable . Is it true ? They said they will charge me 1500 $ in Sydney to do this job. I am confused. I don’t have hex easy can in my bike . So I have to tap on tail light cable . Is better to do it or 😢
All well and good, but this doesn't work all the time. My K2 power supply oveloads the Hex Excan/Denali smartcan on start up and ik flashes red. It once started and when on it operates at 0.6A, but on start up it might spike from 5A to 29A. So straight to the bettery still seems to be the best way although I would like to do it this way......
I dont think the rear reflector would be an issue, it doesnt state what size it has to be? On my srad they stuck a small round one to my numberplate for mot alot smaller than the gs one.
Same on my bike. I’ve got the smallest legal plate I can have with one of those little round reflectors stuck in the corner. Didn’t have one when the bike went for it’s first mot and the tester said it would fail without it. Sold me a reflector for £1 and stuck it on then and there. Apparently that’s completely acceptable, so I don’t see how effectively having a reflector on either side of the camera would be any different.
Why do any need all this cameraes is beyond me it dont make me who loook at the camera's on all the bloggers any good it is distraction, i have no interest in what is going on back of a mc when driving all i wanna se is what is in front and that's it! No damn 360 either it is annoying to watch so a normale Gopro on the helmet is more than enough!

Steve, I read in the K2 manual that wired this way may cause videos to not save on SD card? Have you seen this issue?

Yes, and I should have covered this.......This is why it's important to set the delay to 30 seconds on the programming.

Hi Steve
Love the K2 and the idea of a grill mount. You fitted my K2 system back in November (just before you moved). How easy would it be to move the front camera to the grill system?
All depends on how much slack there is on the camera wire and whether it was coiled up ear front. Otherwise relatively easy
