If you own a mobility scooter then you will know how important it is to get the right battery.
Mobility scooters themselves are eco-friendly, as they run on electricity rather then petrol and don’t generate any harmful emissions.
However, different mobility scooters work off different types of batteries.
One thing that they all have in common though is that all mobility scooter batteries are 12 volt. The majority of mobility scooters normally need 2 batteries which would mean that you need 24volts in total to power your scooter.
Mobility batteries provide the power for these energy-efficient vehicles, but just like a car battery, each model has different requirements, and eventually the battery will need to be swapped for a new model.
In general however mobility scooter batteries last between eighteen months and two years with moderate use and appropriate care
Before you start the process of replacing your batteries you should remember that not all mobility scooters batteries are the same.
Some will perform better and last longer than others which is why you will often find that the cheapest mobility scooter batteries often don’t last as long as some of the more expensive batteries.
In our experience, the lifespan of mobility scooter batteries can be greatly reduced or extended by the care you take to properly maintain the scooter and charge the battery.
Whilst you may think buying two batteries is enough you may want to consider having some spares.
Most mobility scooters batteries will need to be fully charged after each use - sometimes this can take eight hours or more. So, this might mean that you are unable to use the scooter in this time, which in itself could cause you an inconvenience.
However, It’s also important that you don’t undercharge the battery consistently, as this can reduce its lifespan.
Overloading your scooter with heavy bags and objects can also impair the efficacy of the battery.
When considering which mobility scooters batteries are likely to be right for your needs, it’s important to firstly check which type of battery specification the scooter you have needs. Then you can research models and makes of batteries before comparing prices.
Finally, bear in mind that the cheapest mobility battery isn’t likely to be of the highest quality -

hi rose, i have a pride colt pursuit mobilty scooter. it had 75amp/h battery's. would 85amp/h ones work in it ?

you have to take note of the physical size of the battery most important. the more AH it holds the better. But in this case Size really does matter. .THEY MUST FIT THE BATTERY COMPARTMENT WIDTH HIGHT AND LENGTH.
