This game is a great example of why armies need fast or deepstriking units to be able to play the mission - the Marines never really stood a chance cos there was never any possibility that they could disrupt your objectives thanks to how they deployed - the bikers needed to dodge the Eldar's frontline attack and attack the Eldar's backline.
It's also a perfect example how not to fight eldar! You can't play defensive and hole up in your DZ - it just let's the eldar be on the offensive which is exactly what they want.

Eldar definitely got the best ruleset of 10th, combined with excellent strategems and speed it's no surprise they're doing so well, reckon we'll get points hikes?

Hadn't really noticed how much the sub-scatter-terrain stuff adds to the visual of the table. All the little lichen, tumbleweeds, there was a random busted hatch or something... just stuff that breaks up the mat but doesn't affect gameplay. Looks great.

Your save is only restricted to 3+ in cover if you're already at a 3+ and the weapon is ap-0. Your Wraithlord absolutely had a 2+ save at 27:10, assuming you were obscured.
Edit: Same with your Avatar at 1:03:02.

Can you cite a clarification on that from somewhere? My understanding of The Benefit of Cover is you can only ever cap out at +3. So a Model with a +3 Save can only benefit from it if a weapon has AP1 in that they don't drop to a +4, but can stay at +3. AP 2 would then make a typical marine a +4, AP 3 +5 etc...
So, with a Wraithlord they would not benefit at all from the +1 from cover because they are already naturally a 2+ Save. Anything with a 2+ just gets treated as if its in the open, because their armour is already "stronger" than any cover.

@RegnumUmaril Absolutely, no worries.
On page 44 of the core rules under Benefit of Cover, it states that a model with a 3+ save characteristic, or better, cannot have the benefit of cover against attacks with an AP of 0. This rule is applied the same way to both a 3+ and 2+ armor save. This means that AP-1 for both is effectively negated while in cover. They remain unchanged until you get to at least AP-2. I was shorthanding it a little, I'm sure Luke knew what I meant. Because both instances I time stamped involved AP-1 weapons, therefore, both his Wraithlord and Avatar would still have had 2+ saves due to being partially obscured, which could have mattered in the long run.

Just for better optimization, for Overwatch on the Avatar you could roll the single shot and try for a natural 6, if it doesn't land then use its re-roll hit roll but then substitute it for a fate dice 6. That way you might get lucky with a 6 and also keep your fate dice 😉
Definitely needs some eradicators or gladiators for the fists. They struggle mightily against the big boys.

Edit: Also, while some people dislike intercessors I actually like them quite abit because of "sticky objectives", but three units fells like one to many. Especially in auch a low point game, where the marines seemed to lack more heavy damage.

Remember that overwatch can be done also in your opponent move phase: in the case of the second Drednought coming towards the Avatar it could have been a good solution, maybe with a 6 to hit from Strands of Fate and D3 Sustain Hits from the Wailing Doom...

@@StrikingScorpion82 Also you can shot the wailing doom out of combat so even is the avatar is locked by some dudes you can still shoot and overwatch out
Hopefully going to add some more heavy guns for those Imperial Fists: Eradicators, Gladiator Lancers, Devaststors. Eldar beat them with basically two models.

How is a wraithlord tougher than a Redemptor? I though the Eldar were supposed to be quick and agile but more fragile than their clumsy , but heavy duty imperial counterparts.

Also, I think regular intercessors are really bad atm, definitely not worth their points. They lack firepower as well as durability, use more heavy intercessors for objective control and sternguard for dmg. Regular intercessors need some buffs to be viable. Imo....

Windriders would have got a 6+ save vs Plasma. You were wholly within ruins so you get the Benefit of Cover 😊

There's contention with it. The tacoma gw event ruled you could do it so no one knows.

Eldar need another hard nerf. A big round of point increases, especially wraithstuff and gravtanks
Nah, this battle is a poor example as IF bought anti infantry weapons to a monster fight, and then went in piecemeal against the Eldar armys two toughest models
@@mildlyderangedExactly! They wheeled a bunch of high point models directly into the toughest Eldar on the battlefield without softening them up at all. It’s not really a surprise that it turned out like it did.
@@katsura1982 yep, playing defensive works when you can focus the firing of your whole army on a small part of the enemy army every turn, the marine player fielded two redepemptors, one of which managed to get in two rounds of shooting and the other overwatched a biker.
If hed got both those redemptors firing every turn he'd have chewed the eldar army up.
But no, "eldar are op" is what the marine players will always cry.
