This game is in my top 10 of best games ever made across any platform. From the music to the overall challenge of the game every part of it is amazing.
Still get goosebumps when seeing the master sword getting pulled. So epic. With those woodland animals running around , the fog/ tree shadows. Man. They don’t make em like this anymore.
My favorite game, period. A Link Between Worlds is a worthy successor, but for an old guy like myself, it doesn't top the original. Thanks for covering it!
I concur with most comments.. why isn't this channel huge!? The best walkthroughs with witty narrative and complete lore explanation and dialogue that is all about the game covered! A channel for gamers by a single gamer who undoubtedly loves , respects and enjoys every playthrough of all retro games
I never had a SNES as a child, and of my friends who did, only one had this game and we were rarely allowed to play it. But the music stuck with me like glue.
As soon as I saw this come up on my feed I just said "Hell, yeah!" to myself and started it right away! By far my favorite Zelda game. So excited to journey along again with you on this one. Keep doing what you do, always such good content!
Thanks for this guide, man! I replayed Link to the Past a while back and used this to help me through it and find all the secret items/locations. It's amazing how many secrets are in this game. It's a wonder people could unearth some of these back in the day without a guide! That's probably the experience Miyamoto was going for; the exploration and discovery of wonderful secrets to help you on your journey.
I hereby declare you the best content creator on the youtube platform for transformative video game walkthroughs. Absolutely insane that you include maps, visual graphics, item charts/lists with very clear and concise commentary. Your going to reach 500k subs easly if you keep at it. I can't imagine the demand and work schedule that goes into this but wow and after the decline of strategy guides currently, this channel is in a great place, you sir deserve the gold crown!!👑
I just want to let you know that even though I have beaten many of the games you make videos for, I still watch every one. The way you explain everything very clearly and nicely takes me back to when I would first play these games and be completely lost, with that sense of wonder and excitement. Thank you...also Super Metroid when? 😏
Thanks for this guide! I didn't own this until about 2007 when I was working at Sears. One day the crew cleaned out the back room, and I found a handful of sealed games including the GBA version of this game. It wasn't in the inventory and had its price reduced to $0.37, so of course I bought it and the other games. Some I kept, some I sold on Ebay, and I still have that copy but have never beaten it. I have it on the SNES Classic as well, and I always lose my way after getting the Magic Mirror.
@@Pants69 Yes!! Super Castlevania 4 is also one of my favorites also. 😎👍 My favorite level is the clock tower stage. You can easily defeat the mummy boss if you have the boomerang weapon with double or triple shot if he appears on the left side.
The music was such a huge upgrade. The prologue that plays if you wait at the title screen made me scared it was so ominous. That and the Super Ghouls N' Ghosts intro were always too scary to play in stereo after dark.
Been patiently waiting for this. This is my favorite Zelda of the franchise. This game is perfect. I only beat it once but still have it on my wii. Now I’m gonna have to dig it up and play it. Thx for this.
This is one of the best Zelda games. I remember playing it for the first time. The graphics & world surroundings where just amazing. I probably played it for like 10 hours straight lol
You GOTTA do "Link's Awakening" sometime. It's been forever since I've played that game, and I remember it being extremely challenging and long. Most other narrator's are not as appealing, and I would really like to see all of the secrets in that game. What a huge game that was! It's probably the best game for the original Game Boy, and it would be great to see UCBVG live through it for us. ❤️👍
I had a strategy guide for the GBA port and I did so many 100% runs that even like 14 years later I instinctually remember every single heart piece, secret and item. I beat the whole game 100% in like 5 hours on my friend's switch as all my high and drunk friends watched me do it and they cheered Everytime I got a heart. It was fun. Honestly they were glued on it.
Did you know about upgrading your bombs and arrows? I swear, I had no idea until this video. I put a few hundred hours into this game when it came out, even going as far as calling Nintendo Power's tip line because I was stuck at some point, and I still had no idea that you could carry more than 10 and 30 bombs and arrows. Love. This. Game.
@@Ivegotwormsinme Yeah, I knew about it. I was curious about what would happen if I just kept throwing rupees in, especially since I would have plenty because I would keep doing in and out of that cave with the thief to get as many as I could carry. After I finally got the fairy to appear, I noticed it would allow me to drop even more at once, so that's what I did.
@@Ivegotwormsinme I think it's because I always had a habit of trying to check along every wall and every object of every area in games. Yeah, it takes forever to get trough games that way, but then you find a lot of secrets! I think the games that give the most reward for that kinda exploration are earlier Final Fantasy games. These days, maps are so MASSIVE, it's hard to do that kinda exploration. It's so hard to 100% anymore without a guide.
One of my favorite games, and so tangled up in the memories of my childhood and early teens. Thanks so much for what you do. I love your work, the ability to revisit the past and even to see things I never had the chance to see!
My favorite Zelda, I lost count on how many times I've beaten 100% this game, it's such a treasure to me, and I don't need a guide anymore to complete this game. But the moment I saw you uploaded this video, I wanted to watch it just because it's my boy! Also, I wish to thank you again, this past week I finally beated Zelda 2, and sure was way easier! Death Mountain was horrible, yeah, but the rest was much better and enjoyable (except for going back every time you died haha) P.S: I can't believe I guessed the Wizard reference when you got the Power Glove
The brothers that sealed their door up 30:00 there’s actually an easier way to beat the speed course where you don’t have to cut so many bushes. First go through the middle section which takes you up and left. On your left will be 3 bushes and on the right will be a rock you can’t lift yet. Cut the 3 bushes and walk up to the sign but don’t read it. Press down in front of the sign and you’ll hop over the fence directly into the area where the boy is.
@@nugboy420 We know, but it's a better way to get the piece of heart without to reach the time limit. Even someone in a Randomizer use this road than take all on the right side.

I skipped around at times so I might have just missed it, but I didn't hear you mention the best reason for keeping a faerie in a bottle -- it brings you back to life if you die! I don't know if storing multiple faeries gives you more than one extra life though.
An all time classic of a game. I actually know this game so well, I did a playthrough of a modded version that is both linked to Super Metroid and a Randomizer!
I am very, very happy that you are covering this game! Watching this video reminds me just how much this is my favorite Zelda game. This was the first Zelda that I played, and what an experience it was! Back when this game came out, the Light World/Dark World mechanic was mind-blowing! I must say, when I was little, it took me a while to figure out how you were supposed to get to the chest that contains the Moon Pearl. I know that this video is about the Light World portion of the game, but, I would like to make note of one subtle detail that I always liked: in the Dark World dungeons, when you are about to enter the boss room, there is a drawing on the floor of the boss.
My favorite Zelda and SNES game of all time. I have played LTTP since it launched back in 1991. I can't begin to count the amount of hours I have in this game, but even today I can play this game and still enjoy it like I was 7 years old :)
This is one game that I've played a handful of times, never beat the game but always wanted too. Every few years I try to start and finish but I don't have the time to really spend playing. Watching this video, I'm going to try to finish the game once and for all. This is a great channel, keep it up and looking forward to the next!
Did you beat it? I am the exact same with this game. I think what throws me is my first Zelda game was Windwaker/OOT. I got them right around the same time and when I got the GBA version of LTTP, it just didn't feel the same. I can't tell you how many times I've tried to start this game and only get like an hour in and just stop playing it.
30:36 You don't need to go all the right side nor using the stabbing technique to beat it. All you need to do is go to the second alley, go left until you reach the sign on the up left, go down of the sign by simply jump between the bench, then you can reach the boy under 15. I can beat around of 9 seconds. 1:42:58 You not need to lift the other pots. Once you kill the red guard on the middle of the room, you can use the boomerang and that's it. Nice video and you make me learn so many things. Like I didn't know that the old lady, the one outside of Kakariko village, is a fairy. The cucco (they're official nane btw) in the house is a old lady and finally, you can have the friendly bee by dashing right on the statue in the ice cave. Great job doggo.
@Marko Polo yes people have different opinions. There are those who love LttP and regard it as one of the best games ever, and then there are those who are wrong. Seriously though I know people have different tastes but this game is amazing on so many levels
This and Zelda II are my top-tier Zelda games. Fantastic video my dude. You do the Lord's work. Edit: The astute observation about potential sexual deviancy in Hyrule definitely game me a sensible chuckle.
I got Link to the Past, along with the SuperNES, for Christmas in 1992. I spent every waking moment that I could playing it and on Superbowl Sunday, I beat it for the first time. Not content with just beating it, I became determined to ferret out every secret and beat it without dying. I never did figure out how to get through the cracked wall in the Hyrule Castle sewers, but I did manage to beat it without dying. I pretty much played this non stop until GTA came along. In my humble opinion, it's not only the best game in the Zelda franchise, it's the greatest video game of all time. Well done my friend. You have my subscription, and I eagerly await the next video.
Played and beat this game 100 times, top 3 game for me by far--- but I'm STILL watching this because I want to see if you have any tips or tricks I'm not aware of, since I got this game for SNES when it came out and mastered it without any guides and such. Whenever I play it's on memory, so im sure I'm missing a lot lol
I loved this game, like you I played and beat it a ton of times. I could probably still remember where everything is by memory. Just about every screen has a piece of heart somewhere, but most you can oy get with a certain weapon or item
@@jameswesten2018 I wish I played more as a kid. I wound up playing organized sports, being girl crazy, so I slowed down a lot when I was like 16. But I had so much fun playing, figuring out, and beating NES and SNES games 30+ years ago when I was 10, 13, 14, etc... I had school, and a part time job, and football and basketball, but there was no REAL responsibility, no CRAZY stresses ruining my MONTH like after I moved out at 24 years old...and I won't even touch upon stress of your 30s lol... I try to play a few games every year, 2 years or so., but the best thing I did to help me hold onto that nostalgia, and good, happy vibes was DL to my phone like every damn song and sound effect from this game, Mario World, Super Metroid & Castlevania, and of course, the mother of all video game musics, Final Fantasy "2" & "3" lol... every noise, alert, alarm, etc., my phone makes is some sorta sound effect or theme/song from those games lol ... always provides me with a little flashback of easier, and in many ways, happier times as a teen... There may be no better alarm noise to wake up to than GODDESS APPEARS from this Zelda game 😆 .... so easy, so peaceful, so calming....

Me and this game? We're like this. *does the fingers crossed thing like we're really good friends* It is, and forever will be my favorite Zelda. I won't argue about "best" zelda, but it's my favorite.
I’ve played this game so many times and it never gets old. I love it. However I do want to point out that you’ve never mentioned the hidden house in the bottom left of Kakariko Village. If you bomb that left house you’ll find a room with two rats and a ton of stuff that continuously respawns if you leave and come back. Did anyone else know about it???
Zelda: A Link to the Past just hits me so hard no matter how many times I come back to it. Some may say it's just nostalgia, I was just the right age at the right time when it came out. Maybe so, but the impact feels like so much more. It always feels like such a LIVING, breathing experience. The world of this game feels so alive, it feels like such an "event" to trek through it time and time again. The graphics are so rich and clean and vibrant, it is the peak of styles for the 16-bit systems. In a way I feel like the hype generated by the print magazines of the era really contributed to the experience, and continue to do so to this day. Getting to the Eastern Palace area and meeting Sahasrahla each time always feels like such a landmark point in the adventure. I just want to live in this world forever.
I love hearing about the history and backstory to these games. Your inclusion of promotional materials, relevant commercials, and magazine artwork really makes these videos feel like an issue of Nintendo Power came to life in video form. I didn't get to experience "Zelda III" until I got a copy on GBA. I loved the game, music, and especially the dark world. Watching these videos feels like browsing a player strategy guide.

someone on Reddit claims that according to the 'Hyrule Historia' book that Link and his Uncle take turns between the bed and the floor, and that they only share when it's cold. He then went on to say that "it's always cold in their house". So take from that what you will =P
Despite knowing virtually everything about this game, you still managed to show a few tricks I never knew. And your Chris Hulihan trick was much easier than the one I used. Great video, and can't wait for part 2.

You helped me beat LOZ2 all on my own, after YEARS of trying.
I immediately hit download so I could enjoy it in the gym without distractions.
I love that you always use the official players guides in your videos. Keep up the great content!
I just want to let you know that even though I have beaten many of the games you make videos for, I still watch every one. The way you explain everything very clearly and nicely takes me back to when I would first play these games and be completely lost, with that sense of wonder and excitement. Thank you...also Super Metroid when? 😏
Super Metroid now.
I love this game. My fav Zelda of all time. Another couple SNES games I'd love to see are Turtles In Time and Super Castlevania IV.
Castlevania IV would be awesome
@@Pants69 Yes!! Super Castlevania 4 is also one of my favorites also. 😎👍 My favorite level is the clock tower stage. You can easily defeat the mummy boss if you have the boomerang weapon with double or triple shot if he appears on the left side.
TIT is awesome. One of my favorite childhood games and one of the few games my sisters would play with me without sucking.
IV was so rad
My man coming out strong with the SNES games
I 2nd this. Zelda is my favorite series, but Links Awakening is one I never actually finished (and no I'm not proud of that).
The switch version is amazing if you haven't woken the wind fish playing it yet.
@@OzymandiasWasRight LOL we have to stop acting like "Majoras mask" isn't the best Zelda game!
Mabie even after awakening oracle of ages and my personal fav after link to the past is season's
@@LowryJrStanley I am so there when the gbc colors seasons and ages are covered!
Literally a perfect game.
This is the first game I beat 100%, all items, upgrades, and all heart containers. I loved this game!
Me too!
@@DemureDave Well I'm glad that a little DemureGamer got to experience that. I don't even remember ever even finding that room!
Thank you so much for this one, the greatest zelda of all time. May the way of the hero lead to the triforce!
The Legend of Zelda A Link To The Past was the first game I got on my new SNES System when the system first came out. Absolutely loved it!❤
What timing! I just started this yesterday and soooo needed this. I'm so lost in the game.
The calm voice, a panel for game details and the doggo earned you a sub. One of the best guides if have ever watched.
One of my favorite games, and so tangled up in the memories of my childhood and early teens. Thanks so much for what you do. I love your work, the ability to revisit the past and even to see things I never had the chance to see!
God I hope this channel gets more popular. It's the absolute best of it's kind
One of the greatest games of all time. Looking forward to watching this on my break! Keep up the great work!
Ah, so you also watch these in increments. Nice.
Death Mountain was horrible, yeah, but the rest was much better and enjoyable (except for going back every time you died haha)
P.S: I can't believe I guessed the Wizard reference when you got the Power Glove
A Link to the Past is my favorite Legend of Zelda game.
And you can beat it under 15 second.
Hey it isn’t You Can Speed Run Video Games. :p
@@nugboy420 We know, but it's a better way to get the piece of heart without to reach the time limit. Even someone in a Randomizer use this road than take all on the right side.
@@MidoseitoAkage I know. I wasn’t saying it to be a D or anything lol.
@@nugboy420 👍
Your videos are so well done. I hope the people who can use these guides find your videos. It makes me want to replay all of these games alongside your video guide. I enjoy watching your videos all the way through even though I’m not even playing the game. Thank you, and keep up the good work!
Your intros are always amazing, setting the tone and story as well as a mini history lesson. I think it's so well done, ty for all your effort on these.
Agreed it's a nice touch
I skipped around at times so I might have just missed it, but I didn't hear you mention the best reason for keeping a faerie in a bottle -- it brings you back to life if you die! I don't know if storing multiple faeries gives you more than one extra life though.
An all time classic of a game. I actually know this game so well, I did a playthrough of a modded version that is both linked to Super Metroid and a Randomizer!
That fish thing was completely new to me!
I remember getting this game when I was younger and could never put it down. Love the Zelda series. I sadly have NEVER played the last two versions.
I’ve completed this game many times over but to have another great video from you is awesome
I think it's time!
The side screen of the art of hyrule is a nice touch. Excellent walkthrough of my favorite snes game👍👍
This is one of the best works of art in my opinion. Love this brings back so many memories. Thank you
30:36 You don't need to go all the right side nor using the stabbing technique to beat it.
Yes. Arguably the best game of all time (only slightly beaten by Super Metroid hopefully that’s on the list too)
For me it's reverse. Super Metroid slightly beating ALTTP.
@@TheDarkLink7 that’s what I said, LttP is slightly beaten by Super Metroid
@Marko Polo yes people have different opinions. There are those who love LttP and regard it as one of the best games ever, and then there are those who are wrong.
Seriously though I know people have different tastes but this game is amazing on so many levels
@@Danarchy3 oh sorry.
This is my favorite game of all time and have played it countless times, and your guide was very pleasing to watch! Good job!
This and Zelda II are my top-tier Zelda games. Fantastic video my dude. You do the Lord's work.
Edit: The astute observation about potential sexual deviancy in Hyrule definitely game me a sensible chuckle.
I had beaten the game 100%, so I had nothing to worry about. Great video of an iconic old game.
Such a fantastic game! Thanks for another amazing video!
UCAN, your commentary is some serious quality relaxing ASMR. Freaking love listening, watching the retro guides.
Holy- ... Wow ... Link to The Past!
Thank you!
You're gonna need a lot of heart containers... when you're livin' in a VAN down by the river!
Probably my favorite game of all time
I'm looking forward to see part 2 next week it's going to be epic!
I seriously just started replaying this recently. What perfect timing.
@@masterrserch3971 I'm glad this game came out when I was 11,12 years old or I probably wouldn't have had time to enjoy it if it came out when I was older
@@jameswesten2018 yep same... I literally am so happy I was born late 70s... got the best of PRE internet & cell phone life, 0-17 years old, and then 18-mid 40s now...
Perfecto
@1:36:16 "Don't be afraid to talk to the old man, he's more than happy to fill you up" pause😂.
Kidding aside, this video has an amazing amount of detail. Great job!
Don't forget to forge the master sword twice to get the best sword of the game needed to damage certain enemies.
Spoiler Alert: yeah like Ganon for a start
And throw the tempered sword inside the pyramid of power for getting the mighty butter sword (a nicknamed from the Randomizer community).
One of my favorite games of all time. I was so excited to see this was up. As expected another perfect video from UCBVG. I genuinely love his commentary throughout
There´s 24 pieces of heartcontainers. 4 of those make a single container. That doesn´t add up to 8 full hearts somehow. ( around 22:20 or so )
24 ÷ 4 =/= 8
Yeah, it's only 6 hearts.
For flute boy! This was the first game that made me get the feels.
Me and this game? We're like this. *does the fingers crossed thing like we're really good friends*
It is, and forever will be my favorite Zelda. I won't argue about "best" zelda, but it's my favorite.
Dooood I hate working Saturdays, can't wait to get off work and watch this video. Another amazing game, thanks again!
I've been playing this game for 30 years and I learned so much stuff I didn't know about it.
Outstanding video
Dude, not only is this an epic game.......your commentary has been gold on this one and i'm barely out of the beginning!
This is my favorite game of all time, and you've shown me some things I didn't even know about the game. Thank you for your tireless research on these games.
My favourite game as a kid! This game felt HUGE exploring the world. Il never forget playing this as a child :) Gonna watch the full 2 hours. This is a game I know the most from all your vids but can’t wait to see you play through it all. This video must of taken so much time and work, thank you!
someone on Reddit claims that according to the 'Hyrule Historia' book that Link and his Uncle take turns between the bed and the floor, and that they only share when it's cold. He then went on to say that "it's always cold in their house". So take from that what you will =P
Been waiting for this one! Gonna grab some snacks and treat it like a movie! Thanks for the upload.
This one of my fav games off all time I was 5 years old when I first played it....but didn't beat the game till years later...ty ucbvg for the video
The "he's a lumberjack and he's ok" - reference was AWESOME I luv it
Despite knowing virtually everything about this game, you still managed to show a few tricks I never knew. And your Chris Hulihan trick was much easier than the one I used. Great video, and can't wait for part 2.
Now this is what I call a great weekend starter
A link to the past was the best legend of zelda ever made in my opinion. I've replayed it more than any other zelda.
I love this game the most.
