      So, I do need lead generation but I have my own website with an email list subscriber page. I need the users to go to my page and sign up. Since this Lead Generation Campaign makes the users stay on Facebook, would I have to select a different option if I want them to sign up on my page?

    I always watch your video from start to finish. Great content as always. I've got a question though. on your example on this video, I've noticed that you used an image that, I believe, is text-heavy. Are campaign-level ads still required to pass the 20% text to image ratio? Sorry I haven't done FB ads for a while now, that is why I am catching up using your very helpful vids. Thanks.

      You can get away with a lot more text on your images now. Facebook has done away with that rule :)

    Hi Ben, great video, really enjoyed the copy line tips and will be implementing them! What's your opinion on using the FB lead form as opposed to linking customers to your landing page? Does one generally perform better or are there a lot of variables which can impact it?

      Thanks Ross,
      Lead forms ten to produce more volume and a lower cost per lead but they can also be lower quality. I'd usually recommend testing both and then seeing which performs best.

    Great as usual. One piece of feedback. From the very start I kept asking myself "how is lead gen ad a different thing to product ad?" and I ended up googling that. Once I found out "you want to get their email address!" then I could relax into watching the vid. If you'd defined what lead gen meant in 10s it would have helped ppl like me

    I have few questions here for you:
    1- Will I be able to create a custom audience (for further FB AD) with the people who gave their contact info in order to download my free guide?
    2- How can I download all those FB leads into a CSV file? Is there an automated way to do this with Google Sheets and a tool like Zapier?
    3- In the example that my lead generation ad is for people to download a PDF file, will FB send the PDF file to the prospect for me or will i need to set up an automated process for this to be done?

    I'm running lead gens currently - I'm actually a wedding photographer, so my target audience are 80-90% female & I normally use the relationship status of 'Engaged' for detailed targetting.       You'll get more volume from the lead ad campaign but may see higher quality from a website conversion campaign.

      1) The setup of the pixel and everything else is the same just when the customer becomes a subscriber it turns into a success (converstion)?

    I really like your videos and this one is my favorite.
    I have question, I want to create Leads for my Strategic session in wich I also sell the Perfect Personal Training Package for the person. I have learnt that it’s mostly better to sell only the next step in ads.
    But wouldn’t it make the Leads higher in quality, if I also mention the online Personal Training in the ad and not only in the session.
    Important to mention that it’s a remarketing campaign of website viewers.

      Awesome - glad to hear it.
      It's usually best to sequence things. So have each stage of your process only advertise the next stage. But if you are worried about spending too much time on unqualified prospects then you can certainly have more info in there or even specific certain criteria - like asking if they are interested in hiring a personal trainer.

    Ben Heath thanks for great video. I run a lead call campaign. I look at report from the Ad-Set tab and it shows 11-clicks on the "Result" column. However, I only get 1 call or may be 2. So what does this "Result"(link clicks) means if I run a call-now lead campaign and I only get 1 call? Where can I see exact call-now button press count?

    What if I use lead form built on a landing page and run it as a traffic campaign? the only reason to do this is I can retarget people who have not opt in or have not visited my thank you page.
    what works best facebook in built lead form or lead form built on a landing page?

      I wouldn't use a traffic campaign for the alternative - I would use a conversions campaign.
      Which option to use really depends on your business. I would test both though and go with the one that delivers the best results.

Let's say you were able to capture 10,000 leads, what percentage of those leads really covert? From retail industry, not consultation or services. Only retail. I would really appreciate your answer.       Hi Juan, you are very welcome. I can't give you a number I'm afraid because it completely depends on the offer. Sometimes you'll see a 20% off, sometimes 2%, sometimes less.

      We currently do a mixture of both. I would usually recommend testing both because results vary a lot between companies.

      Good question. If you go to your Facebook Page and select publishing tools, you'll see the lead form section on the left hand side.

    Hi Ben, not sure why my comment got removed. I have got a question, which method should I be using to collect email for pre-launching campaign (i do have my own website too in Shopify)? Should I run a conversion campaign to the landing page or simply just use the lead generation on Facebook ads? Because you talked about the first method on your another video.

      By the way great content as usual! I have been following your strategy and getting some impressive results. I am about to launch my Kickstarter campaign and would like to do some pre-launch campaigns. I would like to collect emails from those people who are interested in my product, and I will email them on the day it launches on Kickstarter. Which method to use best for my purpose? You suggested a conversion campaign + landing page on your other video.

      With some yes and we may well be doing more of that during the course of this year. We'll have to see what the exact impact is first.

      @@BenHeath Yes I'm thinking the same as I work with estate agents mostly and every man & his dog does lead forms though or towards a 3rd party valuation tool which gets leads but the quality isn't as high as funnels for me when I've tested. I just wish there were more customisation tools around Facebook Lead Forms. That's what I like about conversion campaigns to a funnel or landing page. We'll see what happens I suppose.     Can you make a video on conversions after iOS 14 update? I want to start using lookalike audiences.     Hi Ben, I am having a problem that Facebook Marketing Specialist cannot help us either? When I am creating a Lead Ad in the Create Media section I only can add JPEG images and not videos. I can upload videos to Media Library but from the Create Media section can only view jpg images not videos? I check videos specifications and they are matching FB requirements. Appreciate you help, Thanks

    Great video! What if I don't have an IG account attached to my FB page... should I still select automatic placement, or manual and tick of IG?

      No I'd still go with automatic. But I would get your IG account hooked up when you can - it's worth doing.

      Yep :) The ads will just come from your Facebook Page in Instagram.

    About to start running ads for companies. But I’m not sure how to go about setting up the ads as far as do I make under my own ads account or there’s? I don’t want them to have the ads running and then let me go after 3 months because they don’t want to pay my fee and stay with the ad, but I also don’t want them to mess up my ad account if they don’t pay there bill. What should I do? I want them to have to keep me around pay me my monthly fee to run these ads. Do I have them sign a contract that states if they let me go the ads come with me?

      I'd run the campaigns through there d account. What you have described does happen unfortunately. We don't impose anything to try and stop them doing it. Instead I think it is best to deliver enough value that they want to keep working with you.

    Would you recommend to only explain the process/call to action on the form? Or does it also works good to add some benefits and social proof, like you probably would do on a landing page?
    And i think i know your answer: test it😄, but i would love know if you have already tested this?

      Haha - you are spot on Mark. The answer is to test because it depends on what you are offering. If people are signing up for a low commitment offer then no extra info is required. But having extra selling points can really help with high commitment offers.

      You can use that strategy and I've seen people use it well. You do have to be careful with Facebook's advertiser policies though. Emails can be sent directly through to a CRM - otherwise you'll find them via your Facebook Page under Publishing Tools and then Lead Forms.

    I recently got started with FB ads. I made a conversion campaign with the conversion event being purchased. I have a small budget being around $30 a day. I haven't received any conversions. Would it be smart to try to get page views as the conversion event since I haven't received any purchases or add to carts?

      No I wouldn't say so. You could try a Facebook lead generation campaign as demonstrated in this video, but I wouldn't switch to page views. When a campaign doesn't work it doesn't mean the objective is to blame.

      Hi David, good question.
      You can get the leads from your Facebook Page. Just select Publishing Tools on the left hand side and then you'll see a lead ads section.
      Facebook won't email you when you generate leads. But you can connect various CRMs that Facebook will automatically import your leads into - you can then set up the CRM to email you.

      Hi David, you can use third-party services like Zapier or Pabbly Connect to connect the Facebook lead form to a Google Sheet or a CRM. Data will sync in real-time.

      since you have a landing page you don't have to use lead generations or traffic. The best thing to use is conversions

      I would have to disagree - most service businesses do have website and should have websites. To be compliant you need a privacy policy so you can either host one on a website you create. Or you could create a document that's stored online that you link to.

      Ad set may get zero Leads
      Based on how you've set up your ad set, you might not get any leads. To fix this, consider making changes to your ad set before publishing.
      How can I avoid it
