Yosemite will take your breath away, no matter when you go. Our trip in February was nothing short of amazing. Have you been yet? If not, are you planning on going?
Oh, thank you so much. Suzannah and I had a contest. I wanted Expedition Hinton, she wanted Hinton the Trail. We let our friends and family vote…she won. I fell in love with it after. Ha ha -Chris
Yosemite is one of our favorite places! 35 dollars a night really isn’t a bad price especially for the area being so close to Yosemite! Wow the price of gas! There are so many trails there you definitely could spend a lot of time there! Looks like you guys got to experience a lot though and thanks so much for sharing it! This makes me excited to head back there one day! ~ Maggie and Brandon
Thank you. We always hope for more views but what can you do?! We’re thankful for the folks that find us and take the time to watch and comment. Maybe one day Our audience will grow. Thank you for stopping by and watching/commenting!! -Chris & Suzannah
There must be so much to explore at Yosemite. We are looking forward to it! Wow, breathtaking views! Better than Ansel Adams - is that possible? 😊 Love all the educational exhibits. Beautiful old trees! So many beautiful things to see - thank you for sharing!
A week wasn't enough time to explore everything and a lot of the park wasn't even open due to it being winter. You'd definitely need a few weeks to see it all. Hope you're able to get their soon. We checked today and you have to have a reservation to enter the park due to Covid. -Chris & Suzannah
Thank you for sharing your trip. Yosemite has been on the list for my wife and me for a while. I loved all of the information you guys shared in the video. I cannot wait to watch the rest of your adventures. I just subscribed. Peace and Safe Travels.
Craig, thank you for hopping on to our journey, we're glad you enjoyed the video. Yosemite is beautiful and has so much to offer. COVID has really hindered things there (like everywhere else) so access is a little more challenging. Just checked their website though and it looks like after 1 Nov you no longer need reservations for day use. Thank you again and safe travels! -Chris & Suzannah
Hi friends. Yosemite is absolutely gorgeous. We've not been out west but are looking forward to our bucket list trip out there one of these days. Glad you were able to explore Mariposa. Nothing like a hike to get to the hike. :) We prefer full hookups as well. Thanks for the tips on the gas!
Would you mind hopping over to our channel and making sure we're still friends there? We've lost some lately and want to make sure we're still friends with you.
I wish we would have been able to make it to Yosemite when we were out that direction, but we opted for Glacier and then head to head back east. Hoping to get back soon! It looks amazing!
Oooh, we’re heading to Glacier in September!! So excited. It’s funny because we were going to be heading there in spring on 2020...and then Covid. We hope you make it to Yosemite, it’s fantastic! Any recommendations for Glacier?
If you were to go to the same rv resort will you take same highway? Just trying to figure it out better and safer way to get out there pulling a 32ft trailer.
Jessy, great question. The Maine road we had issues with was 49. Even using the truck route map it’s considered safe and is the shortest route coming up from SoCal. If we were to do it again though I think we’d take 99 up to Merced, then J59 to LaGrange and up 132 up to Couterville. That would cut off a lot of the sharper turns of 49. The bottom line is you’re not going to get in to the western side of Yosemite without some serious grades. If you have the right vehicle and take your time it’s easily doable. Going too fast can lead to issues. We recommend you do that last stretch through the mountains with plenty of time so you don’t feel rushed. We pulled over a lot to let people pass and take in the views. Make sure you plan what entrance you want to be going in and out of. We wanted the western entrance off of 120 but there are a few others. That will also dictate what road you’re taking. Hope this helps. -Chris
Awesome video! That photography course looked cool. I've always wanted to do something like that. Especially an Ansel Adams course. Does it get any better than that? :)
The courses are really great. They offer many different ones for all levels of experience. I took the beginners one of course. It was worth every penny though. A little Ansel history lesson while learning about my camera and how to produce better photos.
Probably the Mariposa Grove. The Sequoias are so huge. Then again, just sitting in the valley and being surrounded by the massive walls is pretty cool too.
yeah - your advice is awful. you're basically telling everyone stay outside the park if you need amenities. what you're not telling everyone is if you do that, you'll spend over a hour to get to yosemite valley which is the only reason anyone goes to yosemite. yosemite valley and the online reservation system is the great equalizer!! You can't throw money at it and stay there. YOU have to plan ahead.
The reservation system is a great equalizer in any situation. We plan our trips about 4-5 months out so generally don't have issues. We also RV full time and if we're going to stay somewhere for a week (or 8 nights like we did in near Yosemite) we prefer full hookups. Full hookups aren't available in Yosemite RV campgrounds. We also provided accurate information about food and fuel which is more expensive inside the park and directly outside the park than it is in some of the nearby towns. Many people (like us) are traveling on a budget so we try to share with them where they can save money or what they can expect. This isn't awful advice, it's sharing facts. We do appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment though. -Chris & Suzannah
