What an education!! I actually use a rendering software that uses the entire Axalta coating systems. It also gets updates as the colors are added. Watching this video really helps me to understand opacity.
Wow 😳 you guys are awesome👏🏼👏🏼 you guys did a great job thank you so much for posting this great video great explanation 💯 you make a lot of painters life much easier by doing this great video thank you so much again.👌🥂🙏
Hi, in this video we used Cromax Pro, waterborne Base Coat and a VOC Compliant Clear. The repair process however can also be adapted to use solventborne base coat and a suitable clear.
We have a number of formulae, standard and alternative shades available for NNP. When you search with Chroma Vision pro it will select the best possible match based on LAB data. You will need though to go through the process described to establish how many coats of tinted clear you need to apply to reach the correct colour position.
The clear is combined with our special tinted clear additives not the basecoat itself. Please use he link to the respective TDS - sdstds.cromax.com/Doc/TDS/EN/EN%20CXCCAD.pdf
An Iwata WS400 with either a 1.3HD or 1.4 HD is suitable for our VOC compliant clears. In this case as we used a lower viscosity HS Clear (CC6500) and would recommend the use of the 1.3HD to keep control.
Normally I prefer to start from the top of a panel and work down as this helps me see the film formation and guides me as to the amount I am applying. Depending on the job though it's sometimes necessary to start on the bottom. Judge each job on its own merits and plan accordingly. Good luck.
Hi, in theory you are right but our technician chose not to do this for a number of reasons 1. Having done the pre-work in spraying out the colour samples, he could see that he could achieve a good match was possible when painting edge to edge (this was also to show that edge to edge is possible). 2. Blending basecoat and tinted clear across a large horizontal panel offers more opportunity for mistakes to be made and for the repair being visible. 3. As stated in the video this was a training exercise and he wanted to show how to control mottling with the tinted clear on a horizontal surface.

What settings use Tony for clearcoat with sata x 5500 rp. Thank you.

This repair was carried out using Cromax Pro Waterborne Basecoat.
Tinted clear? So you mix clear with base?
The clear is combined with our special tinted clear additives not the basecoat itself. Please use he link to the respective TDS - sdstds.cromax.com/Doc/TDS/EN/EN%20CXCCAD.pdf

For clearcoat you started ever from the top?
