I never actually watched a tutorial of a loop station, this is so complicated 😅 respect to all loopers using a complex machine like that (probably not so complex if you sit down and learn how to use it)
This is so complicated watching gbb videos and making opinions about the rounds performed by the loopers but when I saw this tutorial I was blown away by it just creating melody is so difficult. Mad respect for all the loopers out there !!
Wow this is the first loopstation tutorial i have ever seen, eventhough i have followed the loop scene for a while. Its amazing how they perform live, and hit their effect precisely or else it can sound completly off, that part i knew, but i didnt knew how complicated the loopstation really is. Like switching and turning buttons, but you need to think so fast. I havent wathced the video to the end yet, but loopers must do something to make shortcuts even easier than the ones showes in the video, like can you preset the effects so u dont have to turn live, but just switch between effects? So you dont have to choose osbot, and the octave and so on. But i was already impressed with looping before in general, but this made a whole other level of impressed. Especially you Robin, im no "chill" kind of guy, and rarely listens to music that has a chill vibe, but i could listen to you for hours. Your voice and the way you put melodies together, i cant really express it as english isnt my native language, but you're really amazing, big love from Denmark
I don't have a mk2 but I do have a 505 mk1 so I will explain how that works, although it may differ slightly. You can save a bank of 'presets' for every song, and it will remember tempo, effects, previously recorded loops, and settings that have been changed from default. For instance, you can save a patch (preset) for a certain song and when you load it, it will remember all the setting for reverb, delays, oscillators, ect... This means that to perform a routine you don't need to remember most of the exact values. The routine is more about mixing and switching between different effects while singing and beatboxing to get the desired sound. It makes it a bit easier but there are still a load of different things to be doing, all at the same time. If you are curious about anything else, I'm happy to help, just ask! Big Esh from Canada!
If anyone doesn’t want to go through the trouble of setting each note of Osc Bot Effect B, you can also just put on a harmonizer set to +3rd (or 5th). Slightly different sound, but saves you from having to program each note.
Great VIdeo! Super excited bout it, happy you have your hands on it and share! What was that DnB Style LiveLooper you showed in the beginning as the last example? THX
Id love a tutorial on we drive alone. Intro violin sound you make ontop of car.... next tutorial may be? Deff interested on effects used. Ps great tutorial.
Watched 3times so far (maybe more) but getting my head round this now... thank yoooooou sooooo much...!!! Keep them coming this mk2 is a beast to figure out
Wow! not gonna lie - the thumbnail was stopping me from watching this video for like a month😂 but when I actually clicked on it I realize that the video is actually entertaining, funny and also very helpful! Peace make more videos like that Mr. Robin
nice tutorial thanks! Maybe smbd could help me - how to save the changes in input fx. I've adjusted and then switch off and on and no previous effects(
It struck me how much 'M. K. 2' sounds like 'J'aime' + 'cadeaux'. In other news, I've just bought myself a loopstation-shaped present... Merci beaucoup pour ces instructions et pour les conversations à Tamworth aussi!
How to monitor rc505mk2 in ableton? I'd like to hear the input in my daw only . I hear both rc505 n the signal that it sends to ableton. I'd like to hear only the signal sent to the daw.
Damnnn man, I’m getting mine for christmas and now I’m extra pumped to use it !!! Also is it just me or does the display show what your inputs are ??? Cus that is one thing I am bad at, I made some nice loops but couldn’t recreate them cus o didn’t write down what I used as FX. Thanks so much for this Robin ! 😎🙌🏼🔥🔥🔥
I just unboxed my new Mk2 and after 2 days still can't even get it to work with my DAW, which I don't know how to use either lol...I also have a NOVATION Launchkey 25, and guess what??? Haven't figured it out either but I still love all these vids !!!! At least I can work my Casio keyboard hahahaha!
Excellent video demonstration, thanks a lot! It helped me to understand that this OSC Bot is mainly for some BassLines or simple melodies. But concerning some "dub" style basslines - how to do them? I didnt even see a Sinuswave, or did i overlook that? The most interesting part of the video, the second part actually proved to me that the MK2 never will replace my Keyboard setup, haha. Since the most awesome sounding thing, the sequence with different layers, needs MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH more "Knobbing-around" in a display, than just playing the notes on a keyboard - as demonstrated with the piano (thanks for that btw), i really think doing the Marc Rebillet Route is much more Efficient AND fun. Which is: just playing this sequence with your most favorite Synth Sounds via a Midi Keyboard. Which not only allows for immediate manifestation from "hearing a melody structure in your brain" to actually playing it, but also allows for a much nicer sound - also immediately chooseable via preset-selection, and highly adjustable in postproduction (if recorded in ableton).
thanks for this Robin! im waiting for them to fix some of the bugs and issues with the machine before i purchase mine, gives me time to get more familiar with the MK1 first (got mine april 2021) j'suis hâte!
Wow this really opens up some creative possibilities to explore! Thanks for the explanation. I’m assuming you would want to set up a saved memory with the settings for each specific song?
Thank you I really appreciate you doing these tips and tricks. One the C effect channel what 16 notes did you use? Please do more of these tutorials. The MK2 is amazing but I have a little clue what to do with all the effects and how to stack them.

I think its a bit complex, the hard part isnt learning how to use it. Its how to find your style and start making tracks
@@hashemsioufi8521 Finding your music style is really a challenge
@@ColinFX yeah for sure, I'm not a looper, but its also hard with solo
@@hashemsioufi8521 Without a doubt
I totally agree !

The secret behind making melodies so fast is finally here...
Did I have a Loopstation? No
Did I watched the whole video ? Yes
Thanks for this mind blowing tutorial sir🙇🏼♂️🙏🏼

helpful tutorial, thank you! i wasn't sure how to use that effect 😄
Does the pitch of the input sound affect the timbre of the oscillator very much or does it just detect an input and start digital oscillator?
This video was really helpful and so fun to watch! Thank you Robin (Lion)! 🔥
