Thanks so much for this video @Hazy. I had the #8 Center muffler removed (per your diagram in the video) and my 2011 LR4 sounds as it always should have done. Not too aggressive, but now sounds like a ~2015 onwards RR Sport. Nice pop and fire on deceleration in Sport mode too. The perfect mod for the LR4 and not at all expensive. THANK YOU!!
I just cutted #8 on my rrs 4.2sc, sounds amazing, big back firing when sport mode deceleration, but i can notice it may decrease some torque and power.
Hi, just wondering if there is any annoying drone while driving on the highway? Also did you notice any better acceleration and better fuel economy? Thanks!
Great video was wondering if you know or seen someone delete Cats. If so did it send the truck into restricted performance? Thanks i may have a Cat issue and was thinking to delete both and do this as well to make my 2010 5.0 HSE sound meaner
It shouldn't cause restricted performance and people do it all the time when cats get stolen or the catalyst breaks. The engine will have to re-learn the new loss of backpressure which will take a few miles of driving, but after you might have very slightly better accel and mileage. You will fail any emissions testing, so if this is required where you live (state inspections for example), that's something to consider.
You are correct that I wrongly interchange muffler and resonator through the video, technically, a resonator tunes the sound while a muffler lowers the volume. The owner's handbook labels #7, 8, and 9 as "silencers", indicating that they are all technically mufflers: imgur.com/VaWpkvs
I got a question, I delete the muffler on my Land Rover Discovery sport 2020, sounds good but the problem is, when I’m in low revs there is something on the pipes that’s vibrate, like a sensor, or valve that close and open, honestly I want to remove that vibration, I went to a car shop they said, car is good, is just how car been made, I don’t have nothing wrong, any solution that really helps me to remove that? . I mean I can’t believe that’s unfixeable. Have a great day.
Sometimes if you delete too much the exhaust sounds like a rattling tin can or very metallic, hard to fix that, but if something is actually rattling then it can be fixed with rubber gaskets or silicone. Some cars will sound metallic though then deleting the mufflers, and I agree it's not a good noise, if that's the case you may need an aftermarket exhaust
The L322 has two front and one rear muffler, I don't know what the sound would be like with the fronts deleted, but there are videos with the rear deleted: th-cam.com/users/results?search_query=l322+muffler+delete Here is a diagram of the L322 exhaust setup: www.advancedfactors.co.uk/44-aj-v8-petrol-2005--exhaust-system-11832-c.asp
generally an X or H pipe will allow the sounds from each bank of the V to blend and cancel each other out so you will be a rounder sound, if you swap for the two short straight pipes you enhance the V8 choppy unbalanced sound. IMHO it's subjective to what you like, and make minimal/no noticeable difference in power
Maximum (legal) sound would be replacing everything after the catalytic converters with straight pipes. This would remove the two rear mufflers, and the #7/8 resonator/muffler.
Great video and idea itself. Is the removal of resonator 7 the smallest increase of noise? I'm also about to find a way to get it more sound like a proper v8, not noisy, but not as a donkey which is more of a factory setup. Do you have maybe some measurements of how noisy it is whilst driving 60mph or 90mph in decibels? I know that it depends on the tarmac, tires and maybe couple of other items but am wondering if it made it more noisy at higher speeds or just when accelerating fast? The best would be to have a resonator 7 which could be switched between normal and louder mode :)
Hey bro thankx for the video. I was hesitant at 1st not wanting to mess with my 2012 Rover Sport but I did the resonator delete & it sounds SICK AF!!! Crackle & all… specially when I drive it in shift mode.
Hah yeah I mean the engine is mean it's just muted heavily due to luxury, plus it's way cheaper than a new exhaust system which is usually a rip off anyway.
Nah not really, but I also have 265/65/19 toyo off road tires which provide plenty of drone. You really only hear a change when you press the gas to overtake or speed up
Removing in-line resonators and silencers SHOULD decrease back pressure and increase engine efficiency, horsepower, and fuel efficiency. Whether or not this is clinically significant or noticeable is a different story.
@@HazyJay Bub mufflers rarely (except long or short tube headers) increase power. It's a sound tuning mechanism. Hi, just wondering if there is any annoying drone while driving on the highway?
Also did you notice any better acceleration and better fuel economy?
Thanks!
7 is dual in-out, i believe a resonator... did you look inside of it to see if it's a straight through design?
Do you advise me to remove only number 9? Please I need an answer❤
I deleted the mufflers of my 08 rrs and it doesn’t sound any different, onto #8 next

Is this system the same on a 5.0 supercharged RRS ?
what size of the pipe? any check engine light?
#7 is the muffler not a resonator. You want to remove the resonators on the tailpipes (#9) if you want it louder.

With the deleted muffler did you notice better acceleration or better gas mileage bc the engine can breath better.

what would be the sound difference with a X-Pipe or a H-Pipe installed instead of the straight pipes that are shown in the video?

Would you recommend a resonator delete over muffler delete?
The resonator delete produces a more subtle rumble, whereas a muffler delete is louder. It's up to you though which one you prefer 👌

Hi! Did your vehicle show you a restricted performance message right after the delete? If yes , how you solve it?
No it didn't, but you could try unplugging the battery overnight and seeing if that clears the previous sensor settings.

Most interesting 🤔
Does it apply to 2010-13 models with the 5.0 V8 ?

It does apply to the 2010-13 models however the layout of the silencers may be slightly different: th-cam.com/video/ahSUMwumAK8/w-d-xo.html
which part I have to remove to achieve this result Number 7/8/9 and replace everything with an ordinary stainless steel pipe?
THX
On my car (the sound samples in the video) I ONLY removed resonator 8, it was replaced with two ordinary pipes as seen at 1:58
I wonder what it would sound like with an X or H pipe in place of #8. Also would there be any power gain or loss?
Does it pop ?
Very lightly when in sport mode, may need to remove all silencers for full effect.
Hazy what do you recommend I should do to make it loud and crackle? Sorry man I’m kind of new to thisbstuff
