As an Irishman and who read Wilde and grew up reading him I am appalled. It's become a joke now. Ads on TV predominantly black actors, why?? Who is pushing this agenda? The ad agencies ? Boycott the products.

Yes. I went to see Porgy and Bess at the ENO just before covid. There was an Afro Caribbean man and 2 children and an Afro-caribbean friend of mine in the audience....I thought there would be many more....the libretto was altered to remove a certain word...otherwise it was excellent.

Just be sure that there are no spaces between the dashes and the beginning and ending letters of the word, or, words (or punctuation) of a sentence. You can also embolden words doing the same thing, but by using asterisks **.

I'm from Canada, just another example, but they always have black models for the ads one sees at gas, or as you say, petrol stations. And I do mean, always. You'd think you were living in Nigeria, or at least Detroit. 😂 Never used to think anything before when I'd see a black model or actor, now I find I cant help to roll my eyes.
I don't really know about this, but I've noticed too, is that the hair style on the women in these ads that, with very little, if any, exaggeration, is the most popular, are those long corn rows or braids. This is all very bizarre really as on the one hand they tell us that we have no culture but on the other they need our culture to be able do these things. Surely there are lots of plays by 19th century Black African playwrights that they could have used.
I read Charles Dickens, Thomas Hardy and R.F.Delderfield. Dickens writes about a fully functional England with reliable transport, law and commerce decades before windyrush.
I have come to the point where I am unable to watch TV film or adverts. Race is rammed down my throat and I cannot bear it won't have it
Today the UK Ebay landing page has 9 people of ethnicity and 2 Caucasians. I was in the clothing department at Marks and Spencer. All the models displayed on the card ads were either black or Chinese. I couldn’t help noticing that even the mannequins were black. There was not one black customer in the store either in clothing or food.

Isn't it, in some part, that they have to meet certain diversity quotas in order to obtain Arts Council or similar funding. In addition, productions won't be eligible for any critical recognition or awards unless they can show a diverse cast.

This was the case for Kenneth Branagh when he made the film ‘Belfast’. He was only able to acquire the necessary funding if the cast met diversity quotas irrespective of that fact that it made the film historically inaccurate.

If they are born in UK they are British. Their history is that of Britain, like it or not. They bring up their colour, as a " difference. If we went to live in Nigeria, we would have to accept their history , as their history, and not to demand that British history be inflicted upon Nigeria.
