Great paintjob, and I agree with you that it needs to have a little weathering as it is in constant use. I ordered mine last week, so I look forward to getting that and the two new tanks, and I plan to build and paint them quite soon after arrival for my Walpurgian 3rd.
So glad they brought this back, I rly wanted one of these but couldn't afford it, then it was gone, I was on the verge of buying a recast cuz I rly wanted it, but now it's I'm plastic, I'm rly happy.
@@pierre2396 Im not OP, but I prefer to buy plastic is a much easier material to work with than resin IMO. I only get recasts for stuff that's truly OOP
It’s fun to see you go hard on the airbrush in this video. It does make it simpler and more importantly a much more even coat on such a large, angular model such as a vehicle.
Excellent video. Looks amazing. While I really really appreciate that you don't do many airbrushing videos, it's also nice to see them plus it teaches the importance of consistency in painting.
It's a really cool flyer. And you did a great job on them, but you do keep mis-using the word "Chevron." Look it up, a Chevron is two anti-parallel diagonal lines meeting in a peak, like a triangle without a bottom. The word you're looking for is "hazard stripes."
It's great to see these 30k Auxila vehicles coming out, truly, but I will be very happy once a Command group and (even more important for me) the support weapon teams for my boys to be fully equipped to face all comers 👍😁😎
So there are specific plastic glue for clear part now. As well as no fog ca. the trick with super glue is it “fogs” as a byproduct of curing if you stick the glass then wait 5 days usually the ca had cured and it doesn’t fog since the vapor has aired out.
Wasn’t much of a fan of this model at first, but seeing the paint job done actually makes me interested! Probably gonna use stippling since no airbrush though. As usual, the paint list: Primer: Chaos Black Daler Rowney White Ink Daler Rowney Indian Yellow Army Painter Uniform Grey OR Mechanicus Standard Grey (Base) Contrast Medium (Technical) Leadbelcher (Base) Blood Angels Red (Contrast) Humbrol Weathering Powder Black
Love the channel and have enjoyed this week of kreig.just a suggestion, but I think the fogging on the glass kinda gives it a bit of a weathered look as if it's been used in many a deployment.keep up the great work, looking forward to the next video.
At that age these crates would have been repaired ten times over (or even 'chopped' and rebuilt altogether😱😱) I am very surprised (but over the Moon 😊) these little things are out in plastic ❤😊 Already ordered my first 👍😁
Looks amazing, would have used pigment too, but maybe 50-70% of what you used. Not sure if it works but you could try spraying some glossy varnish to get rid of the foggy effect. I've done it on small areas and it's helped, but they haven't been transparent. I don't have an Airbrush, but I'm strongly considering it, just need to find a compressor that is as quiet as possible and doesn't cost a small fortune, as I live in an apartment and you can almost hear the neighbors opening a can of beer, so a compressor will definitely be heard. But what I want to say with that is that I appreciate you taking yours out every now and then and showing me how to use it.
I remember when I made the same mistake as you, spraying matte varnish over clean parts. If you had cleaned it up immediately with some basic thinner and a brush, it would have come off. I'm not sure if there's anything you can do about it now, but there is a method where people spray entire canopies with paint and then gently scratch it off the glass areas using a wooden toothpick. You can look it up online; maybe this will work. Anyway, I’d still test it on some spare parts because I’ve never tried it before with matte varnishes, but normal paint comes off pretty easily ;)
Amazing job Andy, such a shame you had the mishap with the canopy I hope you fix it ok. I know you try not to airbrush too much on the channel but I still find them interesting when you do, I’d certainly like to utilise it more and anything that helps with that is appreciated.
recently got back into the hobby and been watching all your krieg videos as im wanting a nice easy scheme to go with! decided to go with the 158th! What size bases are used in the box for the artilery team and the death riders? :)
12:08 I wouldn't go as thick as you do, but the weathering powder on the aircraft makes a lot of sense if you've seen how helicopters in Iraq collect dust and dirt despite constant maintenance. Then again, even though I said I wouldn't go as thick as you, we don't know what space dirt your Krieg are marching, driving and flying around so for your own canon this could be completely logical.
dumb question @MediocreHobbies, but do you think that model masking tape would help do the stripes on a certain chaos faction that loves hazard striped over EVERYTHING...? My free handing hazard stripes aren't great at all. With the tanks its pretty easy and if I mess up, ok, it looks chipped a bit, but on my terminators and regular marines, they look awful lol
There’s tons of different size tapes for all kinds of projects, just look up model masking tape, Tamiya does a wide range of all widths. Definitely worth trying if you can find the right size to help you out, always use any tools you can find!
@@MediocreHobbies I know, I read the comment, but is there a starting width you, or anyone else might recommend for infantry pauldrons? any info would be nice. Thanks!
Please, for the love of all that is holy.... quit saying "CHEVRON"!!!!! May I recommend a slight change, rather than white and Yellow ink, try Tamiya XF-3 Yellow. It sprays very well and won't peal like the ink.
