I don't understand why peoples are enthusiastic about comparing Messi with any other players. He is an absolute outlier in the contemporary world with no counterparts in proximity. The only adverse effect is that you might lose the lust of watching other games.
I've never understood the comparisons either. The man gets past 3 to 5 defenders every night and if he doesn't score, he'll assist, or make key passes.
