I said enough after being on it nearly 3 years. First it felt amazingly good. Didn't make me manic like ssri's, kept the depression away, stabilized my mood and helped with anxiety. Then the memory loss. I couldn't remember anything without writing it down. I felt so dizzy that walking straight was impossible, now imagine this at work. I also started to have all kinds of infections, later found out that the drug can affect your immune system . digestion issues, I mean bad ones. Basically I felt too sick to work. Gladly since I started tapering down, things have improved.
I'm so thankful I found your video. I recently started taking Lamotrigine and so far, thank God, I don't really have side effects. And it really improved my moods, and by "improved" I mean - stabilized. I also had some serious s****de thoughts that are almost gone now. Depression never really goes away fully, but this medication is truly life changing. I experienced a change from day 1.
I am in tears watching this because no one understands how i feel! Thank you for sharing 💜 I have been on it for 4weeks now and have started to itch so much which is worrying me!
I had a similar experience with lamictal. I rapid cycle as well. Anti-depressants were making me worse. I'd love to have more hypomania but lamictal keeps me more even. The lows are nowhere near as dark as they used to be. I've been on it 6 years. My main side effects were I just didn't give a damn about anything at first. My word recall was awful. And each time they upped the dose I would get very depressed for two days. It does feel weird that I am more even and not as moody. Nowhere near as quick witted and that bothers me.
I have more muscle movements like twitches. The word finding inability showed up with just 25mg but longer I’m on it the less of a problem. Random soreness that lasts in spots for a day and can switch spots. I’m only on 50mg right now going up 75mg tomorrow. Sleep has been fine. My blood pressure has been notably high. I can feel my eyes being more sensitive. I’ve been on this in the past and was very nauseous and was for moods but I was not diagnosed with bipolar 2. I’m off antidepressant Effexor now cause I was going crazy with the mania. I think lamictal is good so far. I was having suicide in my dreams and lots of sadness and screaming. That has stoped since I took first 25mg. This is important to me. I feel more stable but still adjusting to therapeutic dose. If this helps anyone.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I was diagnosed with PMDD and my GP thinks I might have bipolar. I am going to start taking Lamotrigine starting off next week.

Did this med impact your menstruation cycle somehow?
