    Hey. Great video . I think it’s the first time I’ve heard someone describe what goes on in my head. I have Cyclothymia too so big thanks for your contribution.

    It's so hard to find someone talking about cyclophymia, I could relate with a lot of what you said, and about the overthinking part I feel the same, feel like i overthink almost everything when a feel depressed to try to understand or resignify those hard emotions that I'm feeling in the moment.
    Has been about 2 years of CBT, started as an anxiety problem and now we are going to a cyclophymia diagnosis.
    Thank you for sharing your story and keep going you could bring enlightenment to a lot of people that are struggling to understand what they are experiencing

    Thank you so much man! I love a girl that has cyclothymia, I she loves me too but she disappears from time to time.. we manage to get married in few years.. I am afraid she would walk away each time she disappears.. my question is do ppl with cyclothymia get emotionally detached for no reason?

      It’s difficult for me to say and I had to reflect on this question quite a lot. I suppose for everyone it’s different but after thinking about it I think I do also so I would say yes they do

    Thank you for this detailed explanation! I am in a diagnostic process at the moment and I can relate to many aspects that you tell here.
    Btw, I'm glad about your clear pronunciation 😅
    I am German and I once took part in a school exchange program in the US. Sometimes I struggle with British English now, but it's great that I understand you very well 👍
    Wish you the best 🌈🍀

    Anybody here, who has experienced something like recognizing people much better in hypomanic episodes than in depressed episodes? I meet many people in my job and on some days I recognize everyone, though I have only met the person once and for example 2 years (!) ago (that's typically on the "up" periods), on other days (usually "downs") I do not recognize people though I've met them just a few weeks ago... Can be quite embarassing... 😮‍💨

    7:00 I have Cyclothymia and I can relate to overthinking. Maybe its more common in the low phase and in the up phase you dont think so much you just do and dont care.

    I’ve been in therapy for about 5 years now, and I had thought for a very long time that I had ADHD. I had emotional dysregulation, constant flow of thoughts I didn’t know how to maintain, low impulse control, paired with some anxiety & depression, strong inattentiveness, and varying other symptoms that led me to believe I may had been experiencing ADHD. In October of 2022, I got screened for ADHD and had a psych evaluation. Instead of what I had originally thought, I was diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder and Cyclothymic Disorder. Up until that point, I had absolutely no idea what Cyclothymia even was! Truly, I didn’t really know what to make of it, and my psychologist did not have time in our appointment to explain in depth. I have since been deeply researching the disorder to better understand exactly what it is. In this time, your video has helped me far more than much of my past research. I knew that it was highly comparable to that of bipolar, and I knew that it was a milder variant. But even so, I was left with so many questions. I relate to what you’ve spoken about so much! When it comes to the intensity of my emotions, how the intensity of my emotions shows itself within relationships, over analyzing etc. all of that fit me like a glove. Granted, GAD does contribute to the over analytical part of who I am, and I do recognize that as something that would heavily play a role.
    I just wanted to say, thank you so much for your video! It has helped me so greatly, and I wish you great fortune, friend 😊

      Thanks for much for that comment. It really made my day as my aim is to give people some clarity on the disorder and to know there are other people out there who can relate.
      Good luck with the journey and I wish you great fortune also!

    Hey there, I appreciate the video very much. I'd like to hear how your doctors decided between bipolar 2 and bipolar cyclothymia, what were the kind of characteristics that had them choose one diagnosis over another. You sort of implied that maybe you weren't completely convinced but were leaning toward this diagnosis. And what treatments have you tried? Are you on any kind of mood stabilizer right now? I know here in the states they don't recognize the concept of the bipolar spectrum and I wondered if you were familiar with that idea, that even unipolar depression could be on the spectrum. Hang in there, I hope you and yours are safe and well, take care

    • @liftingoutofthelows1341
      @liftingoutofthelows1341  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the comment. From what I understand i was given the diagnosis of bipolar cyclothymia rather then bipolar 2 because my symptoms were not as extreme as other cases but I was also given bipolar 2 as a secondary diagnosis (meaning possible but less likely). I've only tried alternative treatments such as changing diet and things of that nature. I didn't want to go down the medication route and am not taking anything right now. I'm not familiar with the bipolar spectrum but thank you for bringing that to my attention. I'm very well at the moment and thank you for your best wishes. I wish you the same
