Kaepernick was a great talent and at least good enough to be a backup. Why the heck are sports even playing the national anthem at sporting events. Go to other countries and it's not done. Half the people going to an NFL game have been tailgating and drinking. Is this what we play our national anthem for? It is a false test to begin with. "Patriotism" has many faces and after WWI many people were anti-patriotism for all countries because it was seen as a senseless dog-headed way of thinking that led us to war. Kaepernick's "protest" was so mild. People kneel in church as a sign of respect and devotion. He didn't turn his back on the flag or refuse to come out. It was simply speech about an issue that so many American's, Black and White, felt was an ongoing injustice. NFL teams certainly would have hired him at his skill level. Cowards. They should have said that they were hiring him for his QB ability and I'd agree with that if he were Black or White or left or right.
