I'd like to challenge that notion one day. I've never played this version, but was very good at Starfox 64. Give me two months at this and I could beat most if not all.
Heyo. I'm working on a video about underappreciated games, and I'm just wondering if I can use footage from this video? Shall leave credit in description. Let me know if that's ok! Thank ye.
+BBspike100 I think stealth games are fun. I've done Hitman Blood Money with no unnecessary deaths. The problem with Zoness in a score run is that in a run that takes about 2 hours and 17 minutes, you spend about 33 minutes farming points *so slowly* with almost no variety whatsoever. That's about 24 percent of the *entire run* .
+BBspike100 The things that Zoness makes you do for score require you to try to be precise as possible. Going fast in Zoness wouldn't necessarily be helpful for score sadly, so practicing the speed of a Zoness score run would be useless. Also I dislike the stage in general & don't feel like giving it any more time than it's already gotten.
If you collected Gold Medals in all missions then you will unlock Expert Game Mode like they did it for Star Fox 64. The different between Standard and Expert Modes are: Fox does take more damage in Expert Mode then in Standard Mode, and Fox is wearing sunglasses.
Mr. Zallard, just in case: In Zoness there's at least 2 chances to take out a boat with a steel beam, it gives you +5 instead of +3 with the bombs. Also but not 100% sure, i think a Robot is spawned outside the exit in the scape sequence. i remember taking out all of them before that but that one appeared out of nowhere. Worth cheking out at least.
Really takes me back to my high score runs in Star Fox 64. I don't have the reflexes anymore for this kinda thing. And is it just me, or is this game way longer for just one run?
They seriously need to remaster Starfox 64 with these graphics or port Starfox 64 3D to console...The only thing I dislike about the new Starfox games from Adventures till now except SF64 3D is they don't have the Blue Marine....or more "missions" involving the Blue Marine...such potential exists there..
+Phil Jackson Hahaha, even in this video, there were like at least 5 instances where I was just confounded at dumb nonsense that would constantly happen in that stage. Highlights include when I drop a crane down on a boat and it just bounces off like nothing happened (it should've given me a HIT+5). Also attempting to bomb the little drones on the wall & getting interrupted by a crane was a great one too.
The Zoness portion shows that this game was not meant to be a high score game :/ Cuz like, who wants to sit around and shoot every little thing in that stage? And not just that, but if you take any of the branching pathways, you will miss out on points. In the original Star Fox 64, there was more variety and different ways to play. My personal course of action was always to Accomplish Corneria, but avoid Sector Y and instead go to Meteo. There, I could score at least 300 if I Accomplish that stage too. Sometimes I would take on Star Wolf or go to the Independence Day stage. Then Solar, Macbeth, and finally, going to Area 6 was important for me to get a high score. So eventually, I did discover a route that I always rely on for the highest score, but it took me time to get there and honestly, if I were better, maybe there is a better path or combination of stages I could take to max out my points. With Zero, I would consider having a Faster Time to be the better accomplishment. But then that makes the game less fun cuz all you'll do is boost through everything and with an on-rails shooter, you have a lot of time when you can't speed. It's like high scores in Zero were meant to be on a level-by-level basis and Arcade Mode was thrown in to appeal to Star Fox 64 fans.
Why is it that the Hyper Laser is temporary while in a level and reverts back to the Twin Laser after a while? Are Hyper Lasers broken if they weren't temporary?
+OniRayyo1991 Hyper lasers revert back to twin lasers if you get hit twice, I believe. I think the intention is to balance the fact that you can't break your wings in this game. Plus with the hyper laser you can lock onto two enemies at a time, so it sort of makes sense that they would want to balance it by making it easy to lose.
Thomas Warner Ah, okay, that make sense. If the wings were to be lost like the other games, I guess that the Arwing's "Chicken Walker" mode would have a hard time hovering if there are any broken wings.
I really miss the wing damage, I felt like it added some depth to flying. Like "I can be sloppy with this one turn because it will only hit my good wing once". Though really you just learn to fly without wings in hard mode.
I like how you have to let Peppy get shot down by Wolf on purpose. You go down to Titania -> Sector Gamma -> Fichina -> Sector Omega. Those levels levels give you way more hits other than taking down Wolf and going to Fortuna.
Wow third person to break 3000 hits ... dang wrong game :P The run seems to take more than double the time so perfecting this will be even worse I guess. Especially if you have boring missions like Zoness. I don't know anything about this game, so is it also possible to spam lives and retry checkpoints like in SF64 to get the best segemented total hits run?
+Saboteurr Haha, if only this were SF64. So, you cannot stack lives up in arcade mode, but if you are holding 3 gold rings, you basically have 1 life to spend. If the stage has 3 more gold rings that you can pick up after each death, you can effectively get the life spamming thing to work in this game.
Yeah, for like 99% of the soundtrack, it somehow felt extremely bland overall. The only track in the game that I thoroughly enjoyed and can remember off the top of my head is Corneria 2. If you asked me to hum a tune off the top of my head from any other stage, I couldn't do it lol. The controls aren't as bad as everyone made them out to be, but they're still not good, if nothing else for the sole purpose that you have effectively literally no options to map anything anywhere you want, and the default button layout is *extremely* awkward. The Gyro is actually strangely really good, and allows decent precision. I could see myself actually using it instead of a control stick if I had a choice between the two. The thing that I think I hated the most in this game was the emphasis on the two screens. There are SO many problems that stem from this design choice that it really does mess with the game and outright ruins it for most people.
HOLLY HELL first they bait you with an almost carbon copy of N64 Corneria and then they bludgeon you with AN HOUR of fucking hacking shit with the lame helicopter.... bruh, I’m glad I don’t have a Wii U and bought this BS by mistake....
I still think this game is really damn good, even four years later!!!!
0:17 Conernia (488 hits)
8:19 Sector Alpha (471 hits)
16:20 Area 3 (336 hits)
35:22 Zoness (179 hits)
1:08:52 Sector Beta (333 hits)
1:15:55 Titania (478 hits)
1:25:06 Sector Gamma (198 hits)
1:30:41 Fichina (200 hits)
1:40:26 Sector Omega (313 hits)
1:46:02 Conernia 2 (483 hits)
1:53:46 Venom (339 hits)
2:18:03 Ending
"Idiots! What good's a guided missile if it comes right back?!"
You're in my opinion the world best star fox player ever . Stunning stunning ✌✌✌🙏🙏🙏
I'd like to challenge that notion one day. I've never played this version, but was very good at Starfox 64. Give me two months at this and I could beat most if not all.
If I had have known you got HIT+5 for going fishing on Zoness, getting that score medal would have been half as stressful.
Wait. I must've missed it. When dis that happen?

Wow, I had no idea you could do that. Would have made getting the hit score medal on this stage a little less slow for me.
+TheAnimationAnalyst Yeah, it's a weird little trick they added.
1:08:13 to skip Zoness. So boring.
+Phil Jackson *thumbs up*
+Phil Jackson Most of stealth games are boring.
That's why most of them add fighting element.

That…and your wings are made of bargain bin tissue paper, breaking in a single collision on your ship’s side.

I cringe at how he's not locking on enemies and just letting the Lazer go in mits charge.
But then He's ACTUALLY getting the Kills and has me like 😳👏🏽
16:52 Zallard1: Are you sure about that?
*CAIMAN:* 17:27
Looking good, Star Fox Team.
Pepper: *WHAAAAT?!?!*
Invoice bill star fox charges $640 per hit.

Wow, I'm learning all sorts of new things by watching this.
+TheAnimationAnalyst Enter shield while 1st fire

So THAT'S how you defend against that attack. It's kinda like when Andross tries to suck you up in Star Fox 64.

Slippy sounds like a 12 year old this time instead of an 8 year old.
Puberty!
The Gyrowing levels, I've found, are extremely tedious. They WILL test the zenith of your attention span.
I think the only saving grace Zoness has is the fact that Direct-i sounds so damn adorable. Otherwise, this level is a snorefest :P
+Blank Blank I dunno if even that can save the stage for me, haha.
+zallard1 how many times has Zoness made you say "Serenity now."?
+Phil Jackson Hahaha, even in this video, there were like at least 5 instances where I was just confounded at dumb nonsense that would constantly happen in that stage. Its somewhere around mild confusion where hot tunafish reminds you of shit....

Ah, I miss the days when you shot down Star Wolf, and then changed the course because ain't nobody have the time for that.
I want to. See Bill in end credit
This time, re-release for Nintendo Switch
USE DA BARREL ROLL!!
The Arwings get slower and slower with each new Star Fox version. I hate it.
Wait, what? How did you turn off those searchlights in Zoness?
Evan Peskoff Hack them with Directi or the walker!
Josh S The ones on the walls.
Wow third person to break 3000 hits

+zallard1 Can't you only have one extra life with the three gold rings (or shield rings)?
would u guys recommend this game, ive heard the motion controls are hard to get used to?
What a fantastic game... another tragedy, killed by gaming journalists
This really needs to be converted to VR
8:27 Do a Barrel Roll!
Do you think 4000 is possible?
1:54:45 star fox - well bitch I'm already here might as well!
Good concept (even if recycled), good graphics, horrible music and as far as I know controls are a nightmare. What happened to Koji Kondo?

360p ?
+Halcali It takes a while for youtube to fully process a 2 and a half hour video in HD; quality options will show up eventually.
