But in this one, both him and Andross acknowledged him, so I think this was rewritten to where he was presumed dead, but turned out to be alive, only to actually sacrifice his life for good to make sure Fox made it out. It actually made it that much sadder if this was the case since Fox was starting to probably come to terms with his death , to this game, and to be emotionally hit by this. Poor thing.

In the SNES game it was never explicitly stated he was a monkey. He was just a space alien scientist trying to take over the galaxy who morphed into a floating alien head. Cooler idea in my opinion than a fucking monkey.

Even in Zero, you can have backup from Falco, Slippy and Peppy. As well as Katt and Bill all at once. In this battle, it's a 4 on 1. In short, it's exactly as SonicWinds said "*alone*." No-one's around to help Fox. All 4 of them are gunning for him, and Fox winning in itself is badass enough, but also validates Pigma's disbelief *"HOW?!?!"* *"How the hell did one Arwing outmatch four Wolfen that're on-par with an Arwing's capabilities?"*
SonicWinds I actually had to do that in the Nintendo 64 game when Area 6 wiped out the rest of my team. Up to that point I struggled with them even with my teammates, but managing to overcome the odds was all the more fulfilling.

He clearly knew is way around. It's literally an illusion.
I agree. It’s possible it’s his spirit coming to guide fox when he seems lost and encourages him along the way like a true father. But i always wondered who his mom is. Did she die and James had to be a single parent?

It was already kind of a 4 vs. 1 anyway. The team doesn't do much to actually defeat them in 64, it just makes things easier because you aren't their only target. But in the end, Fox is still the one who has to defeat all 4 of them. And in 64, you can actually go to their final battle in Venom alone...
"So Venom itself is one big teleportation device." If there was one thing I DID like about Starfox Command's story or whatever, is that it presented Venom's potential as a political entity post-Andross. Kind of sad to see it go the way of Pluto and no longer be a true planet/getting trapped in the abyss with Andross' death, unless whatever possible sequel following this brings the location back without bullshitting too hard.
They could have made this artificial planetoid anything. Honestly, whatever dimension Andross is actually in should bring back the "original Venom" as the planet he was banished too, and teleport that back to the Lylat System.
I love how they did Venom and the final battle in this. It feels simple but it's still pretty epic and they made Andross a lot more evil than in the original game.

Andross was very evil in the N64 version. The way he tortured James until he was screaming just before his death was very barbaric. Peppy barely escaped alive from being betrayed by Pigma. Reminds me of Transformers a little with the way your Airwing & Andross transforms.

Yeah but the voice actors are trying to imitate the 64 ones and it's kinda corny imo. They were trying too hard to make another Star Fox 64 and it bugs me because there was no reason to.

I got huge F-Zero vibes from this ending. James McCloud sacrificing himself to destroy Andross and save Fox reminds me of Captain Falcon sacrificing himself to destroy Black Shadow and save Rick Wheeler.
+omegaevolution It's definitely not much of a true remake with everything they changed. (Which isn't bad, but it does support Miyamoto and whoever's claim that this isn't a remake.) Starfox 64 DS pretty much gives us that remake. Which makes it super funny when Starfox 64 is an expanded remake of the original Starfox. :P
The fact that we have a new Starfox game (in HD) is still mind-blowing. The game is epic. It's my potential GOTY. I waited for Zero since I beat Assault back in 2007.

Erm, I preferred his original lines. Though his current VA definitely improved his performance compared to Star Fox 3D, where he sounds way too robotic. In SF0 Andross sounds truly alive, and truly sinister. Kudos to the improved performance.

Looking back, I'm actually kind of glad they didn't do the "Brain Fight" with Andross, and instead made him full cybernetic. It makes a ton more sense that a mad scientist would transfer his brain into a look-alike cyber vehicle to portray himself as the God his followers believed he was. A lot more sense than a giant brainy boi surviving in space, anyway.
No, Re-mastering something would imply you've made an overhaul to the entirety of your property to tribute with better and much more modern respect to the legacy for what it is known for. Aka, the 3DS versions of Star Fox 64, Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. This is a fucking re-hash, which makes a new product BASED on the property and tries to skim over the fact that it's a new product by using the same shit that it used 20 years ago by slapping gimmicks that makes the product as easy as a slice of fucking cake to appease the fanboys and hipster douches, thinking it's a genuinely good product. Like Sonic the Hedgehog 4, every single Kirby game after Sakurai left HAL Labs, and this spit in the face.
man I wish I had thought to change the controls for this fight it makes fighting in all range mode SO much easier when you can control where you aim without having to move the game pad TOO much this fight was such a pain in the ass with the default controls XD

Erm, I preferred his original lines. Though his current VA definitely improved his performance compared to Star Fox 3D, where he sounds way too robotic. In SF0 Andross sounds truly alive, and truly sinister. Kudos to the improved performance.

General Pepper's voice reminds me soooo much of Grandpa Muto.
Looking back, I'm actually kind of glad they didn't do the "Brain Fight" with Andross, and instead made him full cybernetic. It makes a ton more sense that a mad scientist would transfer his brain into a look-alike cyber vehicle to portray himself as the God his followers believed he was. A lot more sense than a giant brainy boi surviving in space, anyway.

man I wish I had thought to change the controls for this fight it makes fighting in all range mode SO much easier when you can control where you aim without having to move the game pad TOO much this fight was such a pain in the ass with the default controls XD
