  • BMW M2 N55 Dorch Stage 2 HPFP Upgrade: Full E85
    In this video we install a Dorch stage 2 high pressure fuel pump upgrade to our friends F87 M2. After running the Bootmod 3 e30 OTS and suffering significant HPFP drops he knew he needed a better solution for the direct injection side. He is planning to switch to a custom full e85 tune, so hopefully this does the job.

    Would love this on my N55 M2 and just a pure stage one turbo to extend power at the higher end of the rev range. Good compromise for good power and reliability I would have thought.

    Great video, nice footage for DIY !!! You actually inspired me to go ahead with this dorch solution. I just finished installing this same st2 kit on my 2018 M2 !!! Engine is running nice and smooth. No leaks. My only concern is regarding the noise of this new pump. The OEM pump didn't do any noise at all. Does your dorch pump make a little bit of noticeable noise with the hood open ? Does it sound like a sewing machine ? Would that be normal ?

    • @ZeroTo60Tube
      @ZeroTo60Tube  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There was a slight change in sound. My recomendation to be safe would contact dorch on instagram with a video clip. Tell them ZeroTo60 sent you :P. They were very helpful for us.

    Great decision to upgrade the hpfp but surely he’s not just running the bm3 out of the box tunes.

      He ran the BM3 tune, before filling up with e85, he's got a "jordan tuned" map on it this second, that they are going through the revision process with right now. Im just editing the first drive vid, and it feels pretty good on the base map already.

      @@danielr9154 Tough call. If you want a nice car to drive through the twisties, slide a little, hoon about etc, the M2 N55 with a stage 2 tune is still a rapid car and will be better to drive than a 140i with an LSD. If you want a muscle car, something to just punch in a straight line, the occasional traffic light drag race, just a mean street car, M140i with the B58 has more potential. This M2 is simply an amazing car to be in, there's a lot to be said about an actual M car.

    My tuned N55 135i has developed a Rod Knock on weekend - just randomly started at 105K. Not sure why but I guess you gotta pay to play. Will be fitting a low km M135i long motor - combination of both motors I guess sump HPFP, injectors etc. Will be an interesting swap. If I was a bit closer you look like the perfect chaps to do this swap out... Enjoy the videos. Channel has come such a long way. My BMW enthusiasm is currently waning however, with luck, new motor might cheer me up and seeing some BMW success on your vids give me some faith :) Might even look at a bit bigger turbo - your cheap turbos seem OK...

      @@ZeroTo60Tube Thanks mate. Here is hoping yes. Yes their servicing schedules do leave a bit to be desired. The engine is still with no noise at idle and no knocking under load. I considered just putting a rod bearing kit in through the oil pan however advice is that usually once knocking has started damage to rod or crank journals is most likely.

    Hey I really love your guys content on this m2! I’ve recently wrecked my 600hp evo and was looking at getting into one of these. My goal is bolt ons tune and e85, for some road course fun.
    are injectors also required, or just the fuel pump and supporting mods? Cheers!

    • @ZeroTo60Tube
      @ZeroTo60Tube  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      600hp will require a turbo upgrade. Fueling you may get away with one of these pumps depending on what fuel is being used. In fact 600 at the crank will be fine. 600whp may be right on the point of needing port injection.

      You will need fuel uprades. You can use something like this dorch pump or PI. I would speak to who ever you are going to use for the custom tune and get their preference on which way to go. One benifit with the dorch is you can use ots tunes with BM3.

    I saw the M2 N55 that you have been doing that inspired me to go dorch stage 2 hpfp and 100% E85
    The problem that I have is the AFR seem to be quite lean and as soon I get to 4500 to 5000rpm just misfire like a lean misfire I have change spark plugs gapped 0.20” New genuine O2 sensor genuine 3.5bar n20 map sensor

      Those AFRs do seem normal to me. Definitely compare-able to the M2. You can run way leaner on full e85 so don't panic. One thing i would recommend getting a dragy, this way you will be able to actually compare your car to others and sort of make sure the tune is actually working and relating to a fast car. I am very closely watching the process on the M2, i'm not overly impressed at this point, but that is mainly due to customer service and very slow response times.
