Fun fact, Saber: Lily was voiced by the real-life daughter of Judy's voice actress...so it was one of those "Hey, I can't get a babysitter for my 3-year-old while I'm at work, do you mind if we give her a role in the movie?" type of circumstances.

For anyone curious, eye exams exist for children who can't read yet. I had my first pair at 5 and instead of letters, they show you the silhouettes of animals and ask you to name them.

Btw, some of the characters are literally traced from older Disney movies: when Mrs Mavilda is in bed, that's ripped from Cinderella (specifically the step-mother in bed scene); There's an old couple in one of the night scenes outside who look incredibly familiar (the woman was definitely a maid in one Disney's movies) and there's a woman at the end who definitely ripped from The Sword In the Stone!

That Santa Claus Straight Up Looks Like A BAD Tracing Of The Santa From The Coke Commercials And Merchandise. Im Just Saying.
Past THAT....Random Creepy Idea Here....What If All Those Peoples Eyes And Voices Look And Sound Dead....Because They ARE Dead. What If The Entire Town Is Dead? I don't know why, but it made me really sad that the mayor was being so generous and giving money to the orphanage believing it was being used to help the kids, but that the lady gambled it all away. I know it's supposed to be evil and whatnot, but I genuinely felt like I was about to cry. Not just because of the kids, but because the mayor's kindness was taken advantage of every single year. It always really bothers me when someone is deceived into thinking that everything is going well when in reality, that's not the case. :'(
(I know this movie is terrible and I shouldn't be upset about anything that happens in it or care about the characters, so I'm not sure why I cared so much, lol)

To be fair, that's an important lesson for real life: Generosity is good, but you need to be smart about it. Instead of blindly trusting people, take the time to ensure your donations won't be wasted.

@@charlotterhodes7359 I'm an amateur artist and I know nothing about animations. For a class, we were supposed to make our own short animation. I procrastinated until the very last day. I drew, I believe, 27 pages on paper by hand of a flower blooming and someone coming out of it. My hand was hurting really badly after drawing all that. Then I scanned them all into my computer and inserted them into the powerpoints (I did encounter a problem with PP unable to use the scans as they were saved as pdf files so I had to screenshot them to change their format from pdf to image). I managed to do all of this within three hours and I got an A+ for it (this was a college art class so that grade was a miracle). So this movie has no excuse to have such a crappy animation except that they stopped trying as soon as they started.

5:35 "When done right, kid voice actors can be a lot of fun." I couldn't agree more. In fact, in two animated movies released the same year (in fact, they were released the same DAY, November 22nd, 1991), we've got two fun, and quite adorable, child voice actors: Exhibit A: "An American Tail: Fievel Goes West", the theatrical sequel to the Don Bluth classic (and probably... maybe the only sequel to a Don Bluth film where the animation could be seen as better than the original, which I would agree, but that wouldn't be saying much. It'd be more like saying a Kobe beef steak tastes better than a regular Wagyu one); the then 10-to-11-year-old (I think... I'm more basing this info on when he possibly recorded his lines) Phillip Glasser returns as Fievel Mousekewitz, and once again pulls off a wonderful performance, and doesn't sound drunk! Exhibit B: "Beauty and the Beast", the legendary film from Disney's Renaissance period, where we have Chip, who is voiced by Bradley Pierce, once again, giving a wonderfully adorable and funny performance that, again, doesn't sound drunk.

So far this is my favorite bad Christmas movie. It's a perfect storm of hilariously bad!

The one thing this movie did get right is providing a bomb ass meme when Santa shoots magic at the kids. Fucking hilarious
i swear the kids smiles have the same amount of creepiness as that one scene from sleepaway camp
The poor children have been locked up so long they forgot how to talk like actual human beings
