And then Rapsitte Street Kids said “hold my beer”.
No no no. I mean, it has the same amount of syllables but that it really said was:
"SHUT THAT DOOR!"
R.I.P. Sandy Walker.
She made the most emotional speech about Christmas of all time.
The worst Christmas special with the best Christmas speech from the Critic
ThePortalDark Oh I know the song, I just don't think there's a speech in that review
+Sailor Italy Definitely the best speech but after watching TMNT christmas special he just posted I am not quite sure this is really that bad.
Mrs. Hopewell? Awww...she's married.
Oh no, shes's single
What happened to Mr Hopewell?
(cuts to the lumber Judy uses to decorate Mrs. Hopewell)
She doesnt like to talk about it
Ruyeka Hatori And then we find out that Mr Hopewell is stuck in a Christmas Gift Shop.
I think Doug put more effort into the production and writing of this video than was put into this entire movie
It has become a Christmas tradition to watch this humorous dumpster fire every year. Thanks for introducing it to me Doug!
Every chance I got, I've been trying to leave requests for Rifftrax to Riff this sucker!
Mrs. Hopewell has the best acting in the entire movie
I don't think saying her acting was better than everyone else was much of a compliment, she was probably best by default.
The Bear has the best acting and is a hero to cartoon movie villains everywhere!!! Why to I always root for the bad guy especially in badly edited holiday toons? For once I wish the Bear would have eaten those kids.
I think Doug's speech at the end is more touching than "Shut that door"
That was just for fun. Still I loved the message at end of the video.
No way! "Shut that door" was by far one of the most emotional and heartwarming endings to anything ever. I don't think anything can ever top it.
When I realized that Doug shows his parents at the end...I was blown away. Doug’s message was really good, and it was wonderful to see him with his parents and his family at channel awesome.
2013: This is the worst Christmas Special EVER!
2021: Santa Inc. is now the worst.
I dunno. Both are abysmal, but if there’s anything good to say about Santa Inc., it’s that there was effort put into the stop-motion animation. No effort of any kind was put into this special, whereas Santa Inc. is terrible due to unnecessary and heavy-handed political pandering with awful humor
@@curiousguyontheinternet9023no. Rapsittie street kids christmas is the worst
@@Styxswimmer We can agree, though, that these three Christmas specials are the worst to have ever been put out
@@curiousguyontheinternet9023 agreed. With the Christmas tree,Santa Inc and rapsittie street kids, it's like trying to pick your least favorite deadly disease. Like, would I prefer Marburg virus, ebola or rabies? That's how I feel about these films
"They're going to stay with the other children and under the same rules and regulations."
"I'm sorry."
Wait, what?
+Oscar Dighton As long as George Miller can set the perfect tone for the special properly.
+Jeremy Barker GUNS, SHARK SHAPED EXPLOSIONS, AND CHASE THAT COVERS THE ENTIRE MOVIE!! Also a Christmas Tree or snow
Even years later this still brings a tear to my eye and it truly shows that even during his worst moments Doug is genuinely a good man who just makes some mistakes and he still means well and wants to spread a good message.
This movie: You always win when you are gewd.
2020: ARE YOU SURE ABOUT THAT
"She's slurring more than an inebriated Klansman"
Underrated line
Yeeeeah, I don't know if this kid is the Director's, the Producer's, or even the Casting Agent's, but...there is no way she got through any kind of audition process.
@@Longshanks1690 She's the daughter of Judy's voice actress, apparently - so yeah, I think she got the part due to her family connections.
When I heard that Doug's mom had died, I had to come see this. RIP Mrs. Walker.
I think we're all feeling that right now.
The ending really is touching.
Jacob Crawford Well we've been watching Doug for years. Even if we don't know him personally, we still feel a connection with him.If he hurts, we hurt.
I can't get through the final message without tearing up especially since Doug's mom has passed. She was clearly an amazing woman who was very deeply loved
17:01 Girl falls to her “death”
20:12 She appears before Santa comes by.
Oh my goodness!
And I thought the dissappearing snow was bad enough.
It’s called details, animators!
Fun fact: the kids were really drunk in the recording studio thats why they sound terrible
Apparently they do have working transporter technology in this universe, seeing how everyone keeps appearing out of nowhere.
This was similar to my first work. I'm a writer and I had a short story like this.
WHEN I WAS 8.
My dead robot companion had more emotion than any of these characters.
"I am the bark of Satan. Those who wish to demean my evil will be bloodily smoted!"
@@joenavy6859 I dunno man, ms hopewell’s performance ain’t all that great
It just feels kinda wooden, y’know?
It took all of two seconds of the movie footage to tell this is going to be a terrible movie.
+Donald Grump (CEO of Trash Co.) because of delay.. you know, the reaction time.. for example if you are driving a car and see something that makes you feel like you should stop.. the time between you seeing the reason why and the moment you actually start doing something about it.. that delay is about 2 seconds (mostly under that time but some seem to be slower)
Kummo (RRM) I saw the animation and my mind kind of just shut down for a bit there.
I'm here straight from Rapsittie Kids. This is a torturous night...
“What decapitated gingerbread cookie do they live on?”
This made me laugh way too much
That end part always gives me chills, such a good message
The dog was the best character....... Because he didn't talk.......
Even there, you can see his design was entirely plagiarized from Tramp...
The ending was so inspirational
absolutely! I rly like how the whole family was included! cause I think thats what its all about. friends and family. or maybe your friends are your family. it´s about the people you care most about and thats how it should be imho ;)
Doug: “What about you? You got a movie quote?”
Me: “Sure. SHUT THAT DOOR!”
I never thought I would hear
“Ah so it was Santa who fried the flesh of a weak feeble woman”
RIP Mrs. Walker, condolences to Doug, Rob and Barney.
Cheyenne Hayden That’s awful was she sick with something or what happened?
- You always when you are good
- *SHUT THAT DOOR*
Which moral is better?
The message at the end of this was VERY much needed for a lot of people.
myself included.
the speech at the end of the video had me on the edge of tears, but when he started talking to his parents, I actually did cry. Doug, you really do know the meaning of Christmas. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year everyone.
Critic's reviews are often more fun than the movie itself
But Eagle In A Beanie let's just agree that the review of Home alone 3 could have been a little bit better.
So, the kids wear the exact same clothes everytime the mayor comes and he doesn't notice?
Yea there the same thing every time and he thinks it’s normal that he never sees the other kids in nice clothes
And they apparently aren’t growing, either, because they still fit in the clothes.
You'd think he would notice there's something fishy going on with Mrs. Mavilda, but no, of course he doesn't. He's a dolt.
He's a small town mayor. The less you expect from him, the happier you can pretend to be.
"Let's watch that again." ~Doug Walker 2018
Just noticed something that I had never noticed about this special until now: In the opening scenes of the animation, it's clearly states that Mrs. Mavilda has been tricking the Mayor into believing she was using the Mayor's stipends to buy new clothes for the orphans; however, in the scene where the Mayor gives Mrs. Mavilda MORE moneybags he mentions that he hopes Mrs. Mavilda will use the new allowance to "make sure the children don't spend another Winter in PATCHES AND RAGS"!! Soooo, either the storyboard director had a stroke and forgot the previous scene existed....or the Mayor secretly KNEW about Mrs. Mavilda's misappropriation crimes and just either didn't care or was complicit.
Either way, this special blows hippo turds!!
I just heard about what happened to Doug's mother. I can't believe she passed away.
How did everyone find out she passed? I couldn't Find a news Article or video about it.
it's the internet. u can find out somebody's bank account just by going to there YT account
That ending speech about what Christmas was, was so pure!
I personally like that bit, and how much important putting in effort is.
(Regardless of what season it is.)
I just realized something, the beginning of the movie was the FIRST SIGN IT WAS GOING TO BE A BAD MOVIE because it broke the NUMBER 1 rule in storytelling, show, don’t tell. The narrator FLATOUT told us that Mrs. Mevillda is evil. He should’ve left that out and let us see this for ourselves. Like, let’s take an example from Marvel, in their storyline, Messiah Wars (which is one of their weakest storylines, in my opinion), there was ONE THING ABOUT CABLE, he was poor. The text boxes didn’t tell us nor Cable himself didn’t see it, instead we can conclude that because they show him doing things suggesting he is poor such as eating out of trash cans, not putting clothes on his adoptive infant daughter, Hope, and having to use old clothes as diapers. That evidence alone told us that he’s poor, Marvel didn’t have to tell us, instead they showed us. See? It would’ve worked better if we figured out Mevillda was evil ourselves.
Also, I have a question, who was the intended target audience, it’s clearly not for kids because of the gambling and drinking scenes and Mrs. Mevillda having a hangover at some point. And it’s not for adults because it’s insulting to our intelligence. So, WHO IS THIS FOR EXACTLY?!
Also, where’s Mr. Mevillda? Given she’s Mrs. Mevillda, this suggests that she’s married. So, where’s her husband? Well, given she’s evil, she likely killed him. Or he left her because who would want to be with a woman like her?
Ugh, this movie is so terrible and has many MISSING PIECES.
And the moral of the story is “don’t screw with Santa and mrs. Hope well”
"true that lightning fucked with her head, she pisses her pants constantly, and she calls herself the chicken god, but other then that, she's gonna be alright"
i swear to god this is the best line i've ever heard in a review
"This movie sucks balls, but I love you. Merry Christmas".
- Doug Walker (2013)
Im so thankful this reivew exists. Watching this video has become a tradition for my husband and I. Every year we HAVE to watch The Grinch, Home Alone, Christmas Vacation, and this reveiw 😂😭 so thank you for blessing our lives with this. We will NEVER watch the "special", but your review has given us so much Joy 🤣❤️
That speech at the end made me cry. So powerful.
The bear is a better voice actor than every human in this movie COMBINED
Whoa, let's not gloss over the fact THIS Santa sounds like the one from Squidbillies. I can't be alone on this.
20:11, Lily is right there even though her family thinks that she's dead and then she's in Santa's sleigh. Like, did the animators not care about consistency?
Asking any question about any caring in this special makes you a moron. No one fucking cared when making this special.
No joke, I actually cried at Doug's speech at the end. It just moved me so much and made me find a new appreciation for Christmas.
I'm so sorry about your mom, guys.
I making the Decision if your comment gets 1.1k likes I liked your comment before you’re like’s only had 1000
Is no one going to point out that at 20:12 when Lilly is suppose to be MISSING she is standing right next to her brother in the crowd of kids?????
The Channel Awesome Nostalgia Critic series is something I very routinely go back to. It doesn't stop making me laugh and reminds me so much of better days. Thank you, Nostalgia Critic. You remember so I can remember it, too.
I actually cried when you said they stopped a war because of good will of man
This actually happened, look up the Christmas Truce. The film clips shown are from Joyeux Noel. HIGHLY recommended.
Sean Furlong didn’t the opposing sides have to replace the troops in that battle because both sides refused to fight each other afterwards
It was also a big reason why war propaganda became so popular. You need soldiers who believe the enemy is essence of evil so they don’t stop fighting them.
@@yeetthebeatout6906 General: ATTACK!!!
Troops: But...we celebrated CHRISTMAS with them.
General: *sigh*
Enemy General: Yours too, huh?
The ending is wrong and bad we all know we should have "shut that door"
Merry Christmas though let's enjoy this time with the people we care the most, as they won't be around forever.
Nostalgia Critic: This is the WORST Christmas special ever made!
Internet: *AHEM* Hold My Beer.
"Rapsittie street kids believe in Santa"
Nostalgia Critic: GODDAMN IT
I don’t know what it is about this review but perhaps it’s the energy of NC’s first Christmas back combined with an exceptionally terrible Christmas movie that just combines to producing one of the funniest, most entertaining and most heartfelt things Doug had ever put out.
The Nutcracker review really gives this one a run for it’s money in terms of the effort Doug put into that to make it memorable but something about this is just a lot more, dare I say it, nostalgic.
When he introduced his parents, I almost cried. What a great family.
7:02 Actually that kid is the actress who voices Judy's real-life daughter. So yes, she probably didn't go through any audition process and got the role because nepotism. After Earth logic strikes again!
Sheridan Mann
Their IMDb pages (I was shocked to find out Elly was 7 when this was made - she sounds like a 3 year old!)
Wait the actress who voices her IRL daughter? Is she also a cartoon character?
Hey at least in this case it was only in acting, imagine living in a place where nepotism is the norm for all businesses.
That ending speech is the most wholesome and beautiful Christmas speech ever. My personal favorite part is the point that Christmas isn't about Christianity, you don't have to be religious to have Christmas spirit, all it is is a belief that humanity can be good, and that we ourselves can do better, and that everyone around us is just as deserving of happiness and goodwill because we're all human and we're all equal in that sense. Truly beautiful. Merry Christmas.
Christmas is about Christianity. It's about celebrating the birth of our savior Jesus
@@wolfgangamadeusmozart1293 Yes, but even if you don't worship Jesus, you can still have a Christmas spirit by doing the things Jesus would do, namely loving and being kind to your fellow man unconditionally. A person doesn't have to be Christian to be good, nor even to follow Jesus's teachings - it's about love, sharing, kindness, and giving.
@@Wandergirl108Wrong+Liberalism crap+Christmas is literally in the name Christ mass
4:06 This child was wearing a dress. That means that odds are this child is a girl. This means we are holding uncomfortably on a shot of a five-year-old girl with no shirt.
*FBI OPEN UP!*
There’s also that one shot where Lily falls down the cliff that has a few frames of her dress flown up. Creepy..
Bruh, it’s not like there‘s anything there to sexualize. At that age, girls look exactly the same up there are boys. Now whether half-naked children forcibly being stripped of their clothes is something you‘d want in a Christmas special is another question…
18:09 "Frank, you still have that *electric* chainsaw of yours..."
18:29 (The sound of an obviously gas-powered chainsaw)
Maybe this Special was made by the same people who made Garbage Pail Kids Movie. Because they are so stupid that they don't know the fucking difference between gas powered and electric powered.
+CamTroid. Hey dude! I love the GLaDOS voice video you did.
Did anyone else choke up a bit at the end when Doug was talking with his parents? This year will be the first he has without his mother... Rest In Peace, Mrs. Walker, and here's hoping Doug and his family find some joy in this holiday season. ❤️
This review is so good. The skits are good, the jokes are good, the heart is there and the ending is just so sweet. I have been watching since 2008 and christmas isn't the same without Doug Walker and the gang.
The end of this episode is one of my all time favorite Nostalgia Critic moments, and honestly one of my favorite heartfelt celebrations of the season I've ever seen put to screen
That was the best Christmas Monologue I've ever heard, that was so good....
He put bottom of the heart effort even after this video, after his mother died... He still did his best effort...
It's sad seeing this after Doug's mother passed away
Oh my gosh, noo don't tell me that. I wasn't even going to look in the comments. Video ended, I was smiling. Then I looked down. I'm so sorry, my condolences... I'm so heartbroken.
Same, but I'm glad she got to appear in one of his videos. We got to see how wonderful of a lady she was. :)
"Giggle!" The title should be renamed to: "The Second Worst Christmas Special Ever!" now that we have "Rapsittie Street Kids Believe in Santa".
Eevee I agree. While the Christmas Tree may be the worst Christmas special of all time, the animation and story in Rapsittie Street Kids are just horrible as this film.
This video aired shortly after my first serious girlfriend broke up with me, and it really drove me down a dark path, but this video made me feel some happiness.
Thank you for introducing us to your family Doug. Your mother was a wonderful person. That is so true that helping someone have a better day will make your day a little better.
Rest in Peace Mrs. Walker.
His father had appeared quite a bit before this, but this was Sandy's first appearance and it was amazing. I wish we were introduced to her sooner

For the last 8 years I have watched this review every single Christmas Eve lol
The ending message that Doug, the other employees and his parents made was far more effort than this special did
When the evil lady got shocked I thought god was a player in this story.
RIP Ms.Walker.
On the brightside. The movie was BAAAAAAAAD. The kids smiles. Jeff the killer called. He said he wants his smile back.
Watch this every year, and it always gets me when you meet hi parents. Doug looks so much like his mother, and it broke my heart when I heard she passed. Merry Christmas to the whole Walker family.
Ten years later this is still my favorite video to watch for Christmas
Everything looked half-assed. Bad animation, horrible acting, terrible plot, pointless moral. It was absolutely horrible. It seemed like this movie was made by kids who still believed in Santa. Also, the Santa in this special looks exactly like the Coca-Cola Santa. It's creepy. Also, the whole basis of the orphans being under the control by Mrs. Mavilda is exactly like Annie. Sounds like plagiarism to me.
Ah, but you see, it wasn't plagiarism! Because unlike Annie, Santa electrocuted the evil woman! (Jk it was definitely plagiarism)
And it's all anachronistic. 1930s cars mixed with 19th century clothing and 1970s TVs and FUCKING CHAINSAWS.
"She slurs more than an inebriated Klansman."
Jesus I don't remember ever laughing so hard.

Inebriated Klux Klansman 1: I got the idea from while I was watching the Christmas Tree, while burning a cross that had a tree and drinking 2 gallons of Bud Light. Anyone else who’s with me, go drink the Bud Light and watch the Christmas Tree!
Inebriated Klux Klansmen: Yeah! Alright! Let’s go drink 2 gallons of Bud Light and burn down the NRA and Fox News while we watch the Christmas Tree!
You know, a lot of the stuff critic reviews I'm like "I should watch this so I can decide my opinion for myself!" . . . Not this. . . never this.
The Eight Crazy Nights review and this are the best Nostalgia Critic holiday specials ever. RIP Doug's mother. Can't believe this aired 10 years ago and I watched it when it was first uploaded.
Alternate ending: Mrs. Mavilda is assassinated by the Dark Brotherhood!
Update: For those who don't get the joke, there's a cruel and abusive Orphanage owner in Elder Scrolls 5 (ironically named Grelod the Kind) and you're hired as an assassin of the Dark Brotherhood to murder her in her own orphanage!
"Sweet Mother, sweet Mother, send your child unto me, for the sins of the unworthy must be baptized in blood and fear."
Fun story - I murdered her in front of the kids but not the other nord, and I totally got away with it. No bounty whatsoever.
Doug walker is such a loving person. Who’s watching this in 2018? RIP Sandra walker. feels sad watching this
The end of this episode is weirdly so sweet.
I just love that Nostalgia critic showed his crew and let them directly address the camera, and then he showed his parents! 😍
Is anyone else here after hearing about what happened to Doug's mom? T_T
She passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday I believe. Doug, Rob, and Mr. Walker, you all have my condolences. No need to worry about uploading anything. Take all the time you need to heal during this difficult time.
No joke, I saw the actual DVD of this heinous special at Goodwill. Much later during my next visit there, I saw that it was gone. I feel sorry for the poor, lost soul who bought it.
Maybe a reviewer bought it to rip it a new one, nobody should have to play full price for this crap and end up actually _supporting_ it!
I bust a gut laughing when the tree shot a bolt of lightning at the orphanage owner. That was just hilarious.
That outro is truly heartwarming. One of the reasons I come back to this review.
RIP Mrs. Walker. You raised two great sons.
“ahdnfbeludbeleoahratstebheCHRISTMAASS” - great grandma *rapsittie street kids*
The ending is such a good message from Doug and the crew every now and then I rewatch this and it just makes me feel a little better every time! Thanks you guys it means a lot!
I bought this DVD for a dollar at a bargain store like 15 years ago and watched it once and then never again it was that bad. It's sad when you pay only a dollar for a DVD Christmas movie and feel like you wasted money, time and so much more. I so regret buying this and it's something that you can't unsee.
I have an idea, take the DVD, pour hot maple syrup on it and throw it into the street
The end of this is so heartwarming...
and to preserve continuity of the series (Dr. Smith is/was supposedly Nostalgia Critic's abusive dad), they decided to add the line (for Doug's real life parents): "who the hell was this guy?" (and to return it to funny)
I usually binge my favourite NC episodes on Christmas Day but always have to watch this one early as it’s the only one that specifically mentions that it came out on Christmas Eve. 😅
Watching this review has become a holiday tradition for me
Let's all take a moment to remember Doug's mom. While many of us didn't know her that well, we know that Doug loved her, that Rob loved her, that her husband loved her, and that she will be remembered. Even if Doug himself doesn't see this, know that I am sorry for his loss, and that he has my condolences.
Wait,WHAT?? WAS THIS RECENT??
