    Did you forget about pressing number 7 and 8 in test mode?

    • @GabrielMiceli
      @GabrielMiceli  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No tests exist there. On prior keyboards, such as the CTK-520L (I have a video on that, too), they would respectively test stereo left and right functionality.

    is there a way to get sustain with this,brought it cheap but if it's not possible,it's sucks...

    • @GabrielMiceli
      @GabrielMiceli  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can send sustain on/off commands to this keyboard via MIDI on channel 0 and play the keys with that sustain setting (see 3:33), but there is no hardware sustain jack.

      @@GabrielMiceli Hi, i really loved your video!!
      But i Didn't understood how is exactly.
      How can i know when the keyboard is in channel 0, and how can i know how its sends in Control Change, and how i know that the buttons i press activate the sustain function?
      I'd glad if you could answer me🙏

    • @GabrielMiceli

      @@SpiderPy - MIDI channels don't work like TV or radio. A MIDI channel is essentially a track, and there are 16 of them in the MIDI standard which are used to play multi-timbral tunes; that is, tunes with percussion, bass, and a couple of other instruments that play simultaneously. While not playing a song from the Song Bank, the keyboard sends all keyboard playing as Note On events for channel 0, and the keyboard listens for certain MIDI data on channels 0-3 and 9, with 9 being for percussion. MIDI settings like sustain that are sent to this keyboard for channel 0 also affect notes that you play on the keyboard, like modulation as shown in the video. There is no one sustain button on the keyboard; it'd have to be sent to the keyboard as a MIDI instruction. If you need further clarification or a different way of explaining it, please let me know.

      @@GabrielMiceli A lot of thanks to take the time to answer me 😊
      In the manual says me:
      Effect. ////// Control number.
      Volume : / 7
      Hold 1: / 64
      Modulation: / 1
      Thats my question, what does means Control Number?
      What must exactly do i have to press?
      (Hold1 means the sustain isn't it? xd)

    • @GabrielMiceli
      @GabrielMiceli  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@SpiderPy - Those are the different controls that the keyboard recognizes in MIDI data. The Effect column describes what the Control Numbers do. Hold1 does mean sustain. Again, there are no buttons on the keyboard which will do any of these things. You'll have to use a MIDI interface to access them.

    • @GabrielMiceli
      @GabrielMiceli  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You have to hold down the Tone button first while pressing the Rhythm button. Pressing both at the same time or pressing them in the reverse order will not work.

    • @Mr.Face222
      @Mr.Face222 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don't think either order really matters 'cause on my LK-30 I can press the TONE and RHYTHM at the same time and/or in reverse order and it can still go to TRANSPOSE.

    • @GabrielMiceli
      @GabrielMiceli  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Mr.Face222 - The CTK-520L behaves as you describe (and I'm pretty sure the LK-30 is just the CTK-520L but with only musical differences considering how diagnostics still shows three stars, the 6 looks like a b, and the 9 looks like a q), but the LK-40 requires Tone to be held down first. Notice how I described this method differently than I did on the CTK-520L Functions Review.

    • @Mr.Face222
      @Mr.Face222 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@GabrielMiceli I noticed when I went to rewatch both this and the CTK-520L video, also reading the manual for the LK-40, and now I completely understand, and in a way it's kinda weird. Also I see that this video now has closed captioning months after this video uploaded, which usually helps me out a bit whenever I'm trying to understand what most people who talk fast (no offense or anything) are saying.

    Do you recommend buying this for 30 dollars? Also can this be used a midi controller for fl studio on computer?

    • @GabrielMiceli
      @GabrielMiceli  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      For your use case, if you need touch responsive keys for FL Studio, then this keyboard does not have that, and you'll have to look elsewhere. Otherwise, yes, you can play the keyboard keys, and the note information will be sent to the computer (for that, you'll need a USB to MIDI adapter).
      As for the keyboard alone, everyone's tastes are different, so I can't say for sure whether you'd like this or not. I have a demonstrations video of this keyboard, which includes the tones and rhythms, so you can use that to see if you think it sounds decent. In my opinion though, $30 for this is a great bargain.

    @jokiro7777 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    does this keyboard have a metronome function?

    • @GabrielMiceli
      @GabrielMiceli  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No; however, you can choose a rhythm from a list of 100 rhythms, which you can set the tempo for, and use it without chords. Or, if you want to go the advanced route, you can connect the keyboard to a computer with a USB to MIDI adapter and use a program that can generate metronome beats for you.

    Does this come with a sustain peddle?

    • @GabrielMiceli
      @GabrielMiceli  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It does not come with one, and you can't even plug one into it. However, you can achieve sustain with MIDI, but the catch is that it requires quite a bit of technical know-how to get it working.

    Would this be good for beginners to learn to play piano?

    • @GabrielMiceli
      @GabrielMiceli  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would say so. It has a relatively basic feature set with 100 tones, rhythms, and song bank, and it includes a 3-step lesson feature which shows you how to play any one of those songs with key-lighting, so that may help. Ultimately, though, I have no authority to recommend which keyboard would be best for beginners since I'm heavily biased towards Casio products, so use your best judgement.

    Does the digital readout have a colour changing LED light in it?

    • @GabrielMiceli
      @GabrielMiceli  ปีที่แล้ว

      0:09 "It features the multi-function display with icons, _colour panel not included"_
      It is an LED backlight module that I took from an old massage chair, dissected, and placed into my keyboard to add a bit of visual flair to it. Normally, it's a black background with the red segments only.
