    I've had my Latitude pants and jacket for close to 2-years now. Very happy with the product. Have not ridden in the rain a lot, but when I've stayed dried. Not as heavy duty as the Badlands, but that's ok with me since I "tour" more than I do "off road".

    Many thanks for a great review, absolutely unmolested by the sales angles from others sources, great narration pace, and reflection. I just ordered the set but felt I was taking a gamble on 4 season wear ( and sizing with underlayers ), as herein Jpn the extremes are not mild for all-year riding. Your comments quashed any doubts I had. Very much looking forward to riding in it.

    Found the last large jacket (black) I could find. I have been riding for 30 years and the Klim Latitude is the best jacket I have ever owned. Steep price but no disappointments!!!

    Thanks for the all weather review. Looking at buying the Klim Lattitude for this fall / winter riding in Texas and Arkansas. We are in Sugar Land Tx, so I have to deal with the Houston heat too, but I use a Knox mesh jacket when It gets too hot. I am considering this Klim for longer trips during cooler weather.

      You won’t be sorry. I have ridden it in up to 97 deg.F (briefly, and in constant motion) and it wasn’t too bad. Had the right base layers also. Of course it was more up North and so low humidity. But it is definitely perfect in cooler weather.

      @@GrumpyGoat Thanks for the reply and will get the jacket and pants when we return to Houston in a couple of weeks. Currently in Bolivia for a couple more weeks. you may have put this in a comment response but curious what your chest dimensions are in a dress shirt? I'm thinking of getting a large as well, I have a 42 chest, 18" neck, and 30 sleeve. Thanks in advance and enjoyed the review.

    • @GrumpyGoat
      @GrumpyGoat  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Last time I checked I measured about 44 across the chest and have similar neck size as you. Not sure what my sleeve length is but the arm on the Latitude is not short and with the arm crooked as I do up my gloves it is a good fit for me and the cuff is at my wrist with nothing tugging. Measuring myself (awkwardly) it looks like the distance from my wrist to my shoulder is 20". Hope all this helps.

    Many thanks for making this video. I am looking at this kit, do it eas very helpful. You noted the low collar, and I noticed that you were wearing an additional neck cover after the trip in the rain. Did that come with the jacket, or is it a separate item? If separate, what is it?

    Thank you so much for this review! How would this gear hold up in Florida? I’m looking for something I can wear year around.

    • @GrumpyGoat
      @GrumpyGoat  21 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Thanks. The gear itself will hold up very well Florida or anywhere, but the question is how well will you hold up riding it. Florida is hot as well as Houston, from what I have heard, and this is not really a cool-weather suit. Yes, it has lots of vents and such, but nothing beats mesh. In the cooler weather though it would be great, as it would in the rain.

    I need some advice! I was talking to my local BMW dealer who carries some Klim gear and she said that a couple years ago she ordered Latitude pants in “short” and that the knee armor fell in the wrong place. She stated that it was as if they simply shortened the absolute length of the pants but didn’t adjust the knee armor placement up proportionately. The knees were all too low. She hasn’t ordered short pants since. I am a 36” waist with a 30” inseam on a good day. 😉 I believe you stated you ordered a short inseam version. My question: Do you have any issues with the fit regarding knee pad placement? I’m cautious about pulling the trigger on these very expensive pants. Thanks!

    • @GrumpyGoat
      @GrumpyGoat  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If your knee is in the normal place halfway up your leg, then you won’t have any trouble with the knee pads location, especially when the knee is bent as in the riding position. There is also a strap behind at that location to keep it in place.

      The knee armor is adjustable...as shipped from Klim the knee armor is in a low position.I had to raise the armor up in its pocket so it covered my knees better.

    Thanks for the review. Just purchased the latitude set. Houstonian myself. What are your thoughts for the the Latitude as we approach the warm weather? think it will be too hot?

    • @GrumpyGoat
      @GrumpyGoat  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are very welcome. I am sure that you will be pleased with the Latitude as I am. I expect that it will be hot with a little air flow when moving but I am sure that we’ll manage once we bear in mind that no change of clothes is needed rain or shine. That itself will help make the heat bearable. 😀

    The neck draw string is to assist in keeping rain out from dripping down from your helmet. Nice choice. Good review. I really like Klim. They seem to develop their gear a bit better every time out. Getting information from customers. What neck gator are you wearing?

    Greetings from a fellow Canadian. How did you find the Klim Latitude jacket and pants in hot weather?

    • @GrumpyGoat
      @GrumpyGoat  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hot. 😁 It depends on what you call "hot" weather too. I live in Houston and it frequently gets as high as 100 deg.F with humidity as well. Does that mean that you cannot wear it in those kinds of temperatures? Maybe you can maybe you won't. Depends on whether you are riding continuously (as in a long distance trip) or commuting about town.
      I could go on an on, but suffice it to say, that I have had it on over 95 deg.F in low humidity continuous riding and had no problem, given that all the vents were open. I wore the right base layers and I sweated a bit but it was altogether doable, and I didn't need to break out the cooling vest.

    Very nice review! thanks a lot. Unfortunately Klim produces too baggy clothes and I don't know why. European brands are much slimmer and 1. you look better, and 2. tighter clothes doesn't "move around" when you have an impact.
    Very much appreciated though.

    Have you tested the connection zipper between the jacket and the pants? I have find that it very hard to use the connection zipper. You almost need an assistant. Do you feel the same or is it just me?

    • @GrumpyGoat
      @GrumpyGoat  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No I have not ever had the jacket and pants zipped together, but I suspect that you have to connect them first before putting first the pants on then the jacket. In other words that it like a one-piece suit. Have you tried that approach?

    I just returned from riding in a down pour: my pants leaked at the butt like a sieve within 20 minutes. Happens every time. I regret buying the pants.

    • @GrumpyGoat
      @GrumpyGoat  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am very surprised at that. I ride through much more than a downpour and nothing seemed through the pants or jacket. How long did you have the Latitude pants? If you had it for a while and washed it and did not reapply the water sealant, that could have led to the leaking.

    • @markmath2883

      @@GrumpyGoat pants have never been washed and only started to wear them last June on a 6,500 mile trip to Northern Rockies. One short rain of 10 minutes and they leaked. Today, returning from the Smokies they severely leaked within 20 minutes. On my June trip, the heat essentially negated the use of the Klim and I used my old, beat up, cheap mesh suit. I will see if Klim actually warranty’s the pants. The jacket is fine.

      @@markmath2883 Understood. What sort of seat does your bike have? Maybe a cruiser type seat that pools water? The seats on my Sport tourers are flatter and water cannot pool so I sit on a wet seat but not in a pool of water. Maybe that makes a difference?
