Nicko is the man! Actually worked for him at his home in Boca and you'd never know he was one of the most renowned drummers in the world. Down to earth and no ego. Was a great experience!
People wayyyy under rate Nicko's importance to Iron Maiden. When you think of the great musicians in the band its always Steve Harris or Bruce Dickinson. But all 5 members of the Golden Lineup are incredibly important. Steve's bass is the rock, the engine that drives everything, Dave and Adrian are the flair to complement him, Bruce is the golden goose, and Nicko is the man who just takes everything and raises it level.
Just discovering how cool Nicko McBrain actually is. Man, and he can play...I thought I was pretty good on the drums...watching him play, I realize I have a hell of a lot more to learn. He seems like a really cool dude.
I learnt play gutar cos of maiden...love the riffs etc....I thought their solos hard but after hard work got em ...I used to play drums....you tried run to the hills?...triplets are so fun...good stuff
LOL, He swapped me t-shirts at one of our gigs once and then borrowed my lighter to light a fart! I let him keep the lighter, wish I knew where that t-shirt went.

Nicko how do you deal with the aging process akes and pains of getting older. I'm thinking about getting back on the drums at 56 years young. Can you help.please thanks jt
