    Well done mate. Very informative. And it's great that you show your wins and losses on aspects of the project.

    You didn't tiighten those lower arms on the stands did you? Likely those bushes will flog faster if you did.. Good to see all the fun of a custom build and what takes it to get on the road.

      Certainly did them up on the ground, realised I edited in the wrong sequence!

    Considering it's your 1st with the majority of the build I think you have done a terrific job, but on the other hand it could be just another engineer thing, lol, I look forward to your next update

      Cheers Michael, maybe you have rose coloured glasses looking at it from an engineers perspective 🤓

    When using or installing gaskets, best product to use is called 'The right stuff'. It's a gasket maker, hi temp, far superior to rtv etc. Available at all parts shops

      Toyota Black sealant is also really good, perfect for sumps.

    I'd say bad weld before anything else. I really like SuperPro bushes, they're a bit squeaky, but you don't need to worry about touring them up with the weight on the car. I reckon the car rides better too.

    I could have hooked you up with the Blackhawk breather I work for Blackhawk/roadsafe/nitro

      Cheers Tristan, bought them months ago but I’ll be sure to keep it in mind when I need parts :)

    Love the build mate, obviously touched on engineering at the end there, but who did you go thru?
    I'm planning to go thru S&M Engineering for a SAS on my IFS dual cab

    6. The weight of the turbo & exhaust plus motor movement and no bracing for the flange

  • @bhg00
    @bhg00 ปีที่แล้ว

    Support bracket ?
    Seems like the exhaust is pulling down?

    Did you ever change that first exhaust mount? I can't exactly remember how it was but remember commenting on it at the time and suggested mounting it to the gearbox rather than the chassis. Could have contributed to both the exhaust break and manifold crack.

    • @DesignedandBuilt
      @DesignedandBuilt  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Benny, yeah I have changed them around a fair bit, I remember that a long time ago and changed it as a result so thank you!!

  • @mattyp4230
    @mattyp4230 ปีที่แล้ว

    Sorry but that exhaust was never going to last, the dump pipe and cossover pipe need to be braced to the bellhousing and along the transmission then have a decent sized flex from there.
    No amount of bracing and strengthening will fix it, the failure will just move to the next point whch will be further up the dump or the dump pipe to turbo bolts/studs.

    That high temp will probably burn off

    Hey mate just wondering where you got all the fuel gauges and that stuff

    • @DesignedandBuilt
      @DesignedandBuilt  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I got some pretty generic eBay ones, in the process of switching to the raceworks stuff.

      Wrong pinout from the PCM!! Simple fix but had to pull everything apart to trace the wires back
