  • In this video, I demonstrate how to enable the Smart Turn feature onboard the second generation Mazda6 using FORScan and an ELM327 connector. This function allows the turn signal lights to flash three times with a momentary turn switch operation (when changing lanes).
    Equipment:
    Windows 10 laptop
    ELM327 OBDII - USB connector with HS/MS CAN bus switch
    FORScan software (paid version)
    All details for FORScan are available at forscan.org

    Can you also change the setting to open and close the window remotely with the key fob?

      Sorry for the late response. I try to answer very quickly, but I can't remember getting an alert for this question. As far as I am aware, this feature was not available on all cars and there is some debate as to which ones were and which ones weren't. But it is generally accepted that since the 2009s and 2010s have the auto window button on both the front windows those are the ones that have the remote feature. 2011 to 2013 cars only have auto on the driver's window so do not have the remote feature.

      Borislav if you have a smart key, you can do it. just push in the unlock button one time and immediately not more than 1.5 seconds push the button again but hold it and the driver and passenger windows should be go down. I have 2009 Mazda 6 I grand touring. And for go up the windows, just press hold the button on the handle driver door.

    Mazda 6 2009 GH has same module configuration or not?
    Thanks in advance

      Yes indeed it does. According to the owner's manual, anyway.

    Hello, tried doing the same as in your tutorial, but when I go to BCM module it shows only Interior Motion Sensor and nothing more. My car is 2009 Mazda 6 GH, any ideas why I am not getting any options?

      This is probably because that feature may not have been included in your trim level. My car is a 2013 i Grand Touring and has many features that the 2013 i Sport (base model) did not. For 2009 the base model was the i SV. I have checked and the Smart Turn feature was available on the 2009 but I don't know which models had it. One indication that your car has it is this: Gently try to activate the indicator in either direction). The first inch of movement will have no click but will be spring loaded. Beyond that inch of travel it clicks and stays in position. That says that your car is equipped with the feature. If there is no spring-loaded feel for that first inch and it just clicks and stays, your car does not have the feature. By all means, though, look around the various modules and see what is there. It could also be that the feature is found in another module for that year.

    You said all the steering wheel controls were reset. Can you still control the radio, cruise, etc, from your steering wheel? Or was it just the angle sensor that needs recalibrating?

    • @RichardTait1977
      @RichardTait1977  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just the steering angle sensor.

      @@RichardTait1977 Thank you, I ended up doing this today in my 2013 3 and I didn't end up needing to recalibrate the sensor. Maybe just something on the 6 I guess. Thanks for the clear simple tutorial!!

      @@evansimard6211 It's not surprising that there are differences in functionality between the 3 and the 6 of these years, since the 2013 3 would have Skyactiv technology, while the 2013 6 would not. I have no proof that this is the reason, but hey, it would make sense.Glad the video was of help though. Good luck!

      Hello sir, thank you for the video.
      In my country, during autumn/winter, headlights must be on all the time. I have bixenons with the auto feature but it starts headlights only when it gets darker outside. On the ON position they are lit all the time but when I turn off my car and lock it, the headlights are staying lit and they will drain car battery.
      So the question is: Is it possible to program ON position to turn off headlights after car is turned off or locked while the switch is still on the ON?

    • @RichardTait1977
      @RichardTait1977  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ChatkoCro Thanks for watching the video. The headlight Auto Off feature on the North American versions can be set to turn off after 0 seconds (immediately), 30 seconds (default), 60 seconds, or 120 seconds. The North American cars will always turn the headlights off and will not allow the battery to be drained. I am fairly certain that this can be adjusted in the World versions, though.

    Do you need extended licence for this as mine only shows reset modules

      Yes, you do need the extended licence. It's pretty reasonably priced though.

      @@joshymcdaniel9233 FORScan does change their licences a bit. When I gotta installed it, a lifetime licence was $20. Then they changed to 3 year. And now 1 year. I'm glad they are still around, though. The guys that designed it are Russians and have come under pressure recently because of the war.
