You made the removal of the overflow tank look so easy. Wish I would have done that on the two skyactiv’s I’ve cleaned intake valves on. Thanks for the vid.
Good video. I have a 2017 6 GT. With 72k miles.just did a coolant drain and fill. Next is to do transmission fluid drain and fill. How much are the transmission fluid from dealers?
Usually under $15 a quart. I get mine from an online Mazda dealer(cox Mazda) and pick up locally. Automation parts has affordable shipping and good prices as well
Some don't change at all. I have heard reports of cars having 250k+ and not changing and it's been fine. The skyactiv locks in all 6 gears so it's not hard on fluid at all. But I use the car for Uber and lots of stop and go for hours so it was worth it for me due to the miles I accrue and how long I will be keeping the car.
Im in Australia. Do not take his advice. I have pulled many transmissions apart, lifetime means until it flogs itself. Change your fluid and filter every 80000klms.
While changing the transmission filter is a more thorough approach, multiple cx-5's on the forums have passed 250k with no transmission fluid changes and are just fine. These transmissions lock up in each gear so wear is minimal. My 6 is now at 124k miles and havaen't had any shifting issues. If anything, after the first change I can now go from 6th to 2nd without any "clunks" which I believe perhaps it was originally low on fluid from the factory.
Your not wrong, however I have read many forums over the years and its just not necessary for the skyactiv. These transmissions are known to go 300k without fluid changes. Not to mention you have to RTV it back and its just not worth the effort considering regular fluid changes will more then suffice.
Thanks for this man helped a lot
Thanks for the details, brother. Great video. Will be doing this today.

Great. $15 not too bad. I'm probably going to pick up 4 bottles from my local dealer. Thank you for your help.@@Drive2Freedom
How many gallons of coolant needed.!
I bought a 1 gallon concentrate which makes 2 gallons at 50/50. Its enough to drain it twice.
Hi mate after how long we have to change transmission fluid because I live in Australia they say lifetime??

Waste of time unless you change transmission filter.

You are so misinformed.
you missed so much, did not change the filter in the automatic
