    I bought something like that from Costco a few years ago and it cost something like $29. I've only used it twice, once on a lady's car and once on my totally dead battery on my truck. Sure beats dragging out jumper cables and looking for a donor vehicle.

    I remember back in the day just touching front bumpers and using a coat hanger to bridge the positives. Wear gloves though, if the jumped vehicle doesn't fire right up that coat hanger will get REALLY HOT!!!

      I use to have a 800A DBpower jump starter, it had seen constant heavy use in the two years that I've owned it. One day it died, but it was my fault completely; I had accidently left it on my car seat in direct sunlight. The battery swelled up and broke the case completely.

    Isnt it amazing how far batteries have come? I can remember back when my dad bought some of the first battery powered drills and such when I was growing up , and they were complete garbage... and these were the high end of the time. Battery would last like MAYBE 10 mins, and they had NO power....not to mention the battery was HUGE and super heavy. Now look at how far they have come. They have impact guns like the Milwaukee that are beasts ran off battery, and then look at this jump box.. its cool shit .

    I bought this same one cause I was impressed with your video. When my 2011 silverado 5.3liter didn't start I grabbed my AVAPOW and hooked it up. Truck started immediately. Problem tho, my truck went into heart attack mode, herky Jerry, like a seizures of sort. All electrical went full tilt. Brakes went stop and go. Wipers turned on by itself. Took the truck to shop they tell me battery was expired. No juice in it left. Replaced battery with new. It's back to normal. We don't know why truck acted that way after the AVAPOW was hooked.

    I actually bought one of these for around $80 almost 2 years ago, it wasn't that brand but it only lasted around 7 months because it's never really the batteries that go out it's the cheap charge circuit that blows. Those do work but they're kind of iffy unless they're a reputable name brand like NOCO because the circuit quality is really good you won't get it to fail that way. I've seen a lot of these jump packs that all look identical but have different brands printed on them like they come from the same factory in China.
    I've also bought cheap power banks that weren't name brand and the charge circuit always failed. The name brand anker has been going for 4 years straight.

    • @elihernandez330
      @elihernandez330 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Samson Holdsworth yeah thats why i wasnt so convinced afterwards, ended up just getting another cheap 600a $50 AGM Schumacher pack and as long as you keep it plugged in all the time the battery wont get ruined. The gfci plug it was plugged into booted and i thought it had been maintaining charge that whole time but 7 months later the battery was flat and got ruined.
      i took the gfci crap off and put a regular plug. there's no water in the garage anyway. Still maintaining charge which is what you gotta do, the float charger terminal for the mower disconnected itself and it wouldn't start, immediately fired up with the pack. The stupid solar panel maintainer for my RV broke and was flat. it fired that 7.5L gas v8 up no problem. you dont need 1000, 2000, 3000 amp stuff. the majority of them lie and fall way short of their rating in actual testing but still put out enough and if it starts people dont investigate further.

Long story short: I reluctantly had sold that unit to somebody who was In need… And have just moments ago purchased this unit from this video so hopefully it will pan out to be as high quality and reliable as that Schumacher was.

    What is Duel battery set up? If that means 2 12 volt batteries making it a of 24 volt system how can a 12 volt jump starter start it?

    • @FordBossMe
      @FordBossMe  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's not how it's set up, it's set up 12 volts for one side such as the glow plugs and certain functions and the other side is set up 12 volts for the other never is a 24 volt system because it's not running together that way

    • @Ka_Gg
      @Ka_Gg ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends how the batteries are hooked up to determine if the system stays at 12v or 24v. If you go from pos on a battery to negative on another, that would turn it into a 24v. Pretty much puts the electrical system in series. With a 12v series, you are in parallel. With series, if you disconnect anything, there will be no power. With parallel, you could remove one battery and still have power.
      Now that isn't speaking about all the other electrical things. Just the connections/battery.
      Most diesel trucks have 2 batteries.

    ProjectFarm debunked a lot of these lithium ion jump starters. Their claims on the box are greatly exaggerated; in reality they push out about 700-800 amps for a few seconds on a full load. I have a similar jump starter like yours but it’s the “6000A” variant; and pushes 1000 amps during a jump start.

    • @FordBossMe
      @FordBossMe  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well I could tell you right now that it's working for me so far and I just showed you how it works so I don't know how you're going to negate that
      I like project Farm but what I don't like how everybody references him every time something gets tested let other guys have a chance without being a fanboy of somebody's go to for everything
      I mean there's plenty of us out here that are professionals that actually do this in the field and it's completely different when you stress test something you show it live versus what's being done in somebody's home or garage
      I get what you're saying and I mean no disrespect but I'm really tired of hearing project Farm every time somebody popped up with a new test or something if they want to show it kind of gets old

      @@FordBossMe Hey, thanks for replying back. I understand you completely, it works for me just like it work for you. I am just saying that a lot of Chinese companies over exaggerate the amps number on their product just to boost their sales. Its a marketing tactic to draw people to buy in; of course the jump starter will work as described. I just prefer the companies to test their jump starters thoroughly and list the accurate amp numbers.
